I have read the weight of glory numerous times. First time to listen to it. Magnificent. Oh the mind God gave Mr Lewis. I feel that longing and hear that whisper he describes.
I found Lewis' books very difficult to understand but meanwhile extremely thought-provoking and inspiring. To be honest, I can't fully grasp the idea of this essay, but I will read it more times. Praise God for this meek and wonderful man, C S Lewis!
Such a powerful speech! Once again I wish his essays were readily available when I was growing up. The church we had was very far from the truth of Scripture. I pray this channel is brought to the attention of many people. Thank you and I thank God for C.S.Lewis.🙏🙏🙏🙏
If you asked 20 men today what they thought the highest of the virtues-they would reply unselfishness. A lack of self. Versus the traditional answer-Love. One empty as virtue. One full of the other-as it were.
That was a deep dive! I’m very glad I can understand what is said here and relate it to my children. Mr. Lewis is on a very high level of communication and thought. A wonderful dissertation that will be cherished by me and mine for many a year.

This is the best essay every written. It changed my life. It said the things I could not say. It articulates the longing that we all, especially Christians, feel. I don’t know if I would still have my faith if it were not for Lewis.
"We are far too easily pleased." This got the gears in my mind turning. We find pleasure in some of the most useless things. Eating a cupcake, instead of learning a treasured skill. Our standards are so low and we waste so much of our lives doing stupid things, when we could be doing great things, if only we shunned stupid things, and had much higher standards than we do. And frankly, I don't even think they're "high" standards. I think calling these standards "high" is propaganda from a sinfully lazy society, but not the truth that God tries to instill in us. Is perfectionism a bad thing, or something we should all strive for? Should we be satisfied with eating a cupcake, or disgusted with the thought of finding satisfaction from the mere act of consuming sugar? We should shun useless actions, and strive for true feats of human greatness! We should manifest the attributes of being "created in the image of God," instead of finding satisfaction in absolutely waste-of-time tasks. But I am the chief of wasting my time, I'm watching UA-cam instead of doing my school work. I am the chief of all sinners. But, C. S. Lewis certainly isn't the worst person to procrastinate to lol
@@kouliherebut in order to know what is indeed right and wrong, a cupcake or a treasure of wisdom is this: To go to the Holy Word of God, and listen to His wisdom being exposed to your life. Herein we find truth being exposed like a lamp lighting a dim room to reveal what we would call Good and bad. Speak O Sovereign Lord, let us know your good will.
Lewis wrote with such eloquence that we can almost feel the depth of his desire. It's painfully tragic that he spent his life with such a longing. It must have tormented him.
We all spend our lives with such longing. Most of us try to mask it with earthly pleasures. Lewis, however, applied the introspection necessary to identify the object of said longing.
@@WiseGuy508 : It's plain that Lewis felt that longing, but how can we tell that anyone else feels the same longing unless they tell us? How would any person know about a longing that's being masked? Where does this information come from?

Even our sense of love in this day and age of 21st century Britain has been watered down into representing a more diluted form of itself. The truest love we have come to recognise within our cultured understandings, a love beyond what our sense of love is today, it has gone from our midst. To stand agape was to live beyond what our sense of love has become. Our society of today, now servile to what economists of past centuries saw befitting, the surrounding society that we dutifully bear the yoke of, it corrupts, and there is no way of us ever attaining anything of a higher sense of love through what to live agape once brought. This is of course if to be blameless ever existed at all. We would have to become docile to everything corrupting that had ever happened within ourselves and the history of our people and their present and past surroundings to have any chance of comprehending what to stand agape truly entailed, but then I have been drawn to enjoying erotic animation since I was child so have always been at a losing end in adulthood. Does Christ forgive the repentant sinner? We can only hope and pray that this is so. God bless
Isaiah 9 vs. 6, " For unto us a Child is born. Unto us a Son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. " Yeshua Ha Massiach (Jesus The Messiah) Acts Chapter 4 verse 12: " There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved." Who is Christ? Who is Jesus? Born of a virgin, Mary. Matthew Chapter 1 verse 20: " behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him (Joseph), in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for that (Christ)which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. Jesus, the Christ, is God's word made flesh. Jesus is Jehovah God's (The Creator's) Word made into flesh. 1 John chapter 5 verse 7: " For there are three that bear a record in heaven, The Father, The Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one." John chapter 1 verse 1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John chapter 1 verse 14: " And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." John chapter 1 verse 10: " He was in the world, and the world knew Him not." Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12: " For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." How beautiful and awesome is God's Word, who is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, magnificent in all His glory, is He.Amen! John's Vision Of Christ Seated On His Throne In Heaven: Revelation chapter 4 verse 2 to 3: " Immediately, I (John), was in the Spirit, and behold a throne sat in Heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance, and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald." Why did Christ Jesus came and sacrificed His precious life for sinners like us? Christ (God's Word made into flesh), came because through flesh (Adam's flesh) sin entered the world, and then because of sin death entered the whole earth. Through flesh(Jesus Christ's flesh), the earth will be saved, sin is destroyed, and the curse of death shall be broken, death and the grave shall be cast into hell. Christ, who is God's Word made into flesh, sacrificed His life for us. He was crucified for our sins and transgressions. Christ died, and on the third day He resurrected in the flesh, conquering death and the grave. Now, Christ is seated in Heaven, at the right hand of Power(God). Through Christ's sacrifice we gain Salvation through God's abundant mercy and grace. We are reconciled and recompensed back to God, through the shed blood of His beloved Son Christ Jesus. John chapter 3 verse 16: " For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that who ever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life." Romans chapter 5 verse 8: " But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Christ came to undo the sin and eternal death brought upon the world through the sin of Adam. Death in Adam, Life In Christ: Romans chapter 5 verse 19: " For as by one man's disobedience(Adam), many were made sinners, so also by one Man's (Jesus)obedience, many will be made righteous." Romans chapter 5 verse 18: " Therefore, as through one man's (Adam's) offense judgement came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even through one Man's (Christ's) righteous act, the free gift came to all men, resulting in the justification of life." Romans chapter 5 verse 17: " For if by the one man's offense(Adam's offense), death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in the life through the One(Jesus Christ). Romans chapter 5 verse 12: " Therefore, just as through one man (Adam)sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned." Romans chapter 5 verse 21: " "So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Do you now see that through Adam, sin and death entered the world, so that is why Christ Jesus came to give life, and give it more abundantly? Yes Christ came to give eternal life through Salvation. Adam's flesh brought sin, death, destruction, and condemnation. 1 Corinthians 15 : 21-22, "For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ, all shall be made alive." Christ's sacrifice, the crucifixtion of His flesh, brings reconciliation of sins, life, resurrection, eternal life, salvation Christ is coming back again, not as a sacrificial lamb. He is coming back as a roaring, waring lion, to destroy sin, death, and the grave once and for all. Amen! Amen! Amen! Amen! Amen! Amen! Amen! Hallelujah! Revelation chapter 22 verse 12 to 13: " And behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. " Now do you see friends, Why Christ Jesus is so so Important for our Salvation? Yes. Now, do you understand why there is only one way to God, and that is only through Christ Jesus, only? Yes. Christ is Salvation. Christ is our Lord and Saviour. Christ is the only way to God. Christ is the only Mediator between God and men(us humans). God loves us so much, He does not want anyone to perish in hell. God wants all sinners to be saved. That is why He sent His Word to save the world. God's Word became flesh, and dwelt among us to save us. Will you accept Christ and be saved? Romans chapter 6 verse 23: " For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." John Chapter 3 verse 16: " For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that who ever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." Salvation is free! Christ already paid the price, all you have to do is recieve salvation through acceptance of Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Massiach. So who is Christ? He is The Word Of God. He is the Son of God. He is God. He is the image of the unseen God. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is the beginning and the end. He is the Great I Am. He is Emmanuel. He is The Christ. He is The Messiah. He is The Creator. He is our Lord and Saviour. He is our Mediator. He is the Lion and the Lamb. He is Salvation. He is the way, the truth, and life. Amen! I love you Lord! God created the heavens and the earth with His spoken Word. Did you know that Jesus is that Word, through which all things were created? Yes. John chapter 14 verse 6: " Jesus said to him," I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Colassians chapter 1 verse 15 to 16: He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him." John chapter 1 verse 1 to 4: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." Please pray this prayer with me. ***Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for me. Please come in to my heart. I accept You as my Lord and Savior, You are the Son Of God, You are the Word Of God, You are God. You are the Great I Am, the One Who Was, Who Is and Who Is To Come. I believe that You sacrificed your life for me and died, and on the third day You awoke and raised up your body in the flesh. I believe You are coming back again in the flesh (In your resurrected body). I believe Salvation is only through You. No one comes to God (Jehovah) The Father, but through You. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." Now that you understand who Christ is, share Christ with others. Amen! Repent of your sins. Submit to Jehovah-God. Love God with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. Love one another. Forgive one another. It is written, "resist the devil, submit to God, and the devil will flee from you." Hate sin with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. Acts 11 vs. 15 to 16, " And as I began to speak, The Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, "John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
His superb spiritual insight reminds me how dumbed-down we’ve become in the Western church where sermons are 3 points, plus a few personal stories and a joke tacked on to a lightweight teaching.
Psalm 7:11-12 11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. 12 If he turn not, he will wet his sword; he hath bend his bow, and made it ready. 2 Thessalonians 1: 7-10 7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels. 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe(because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Isaiah 55:6-9 6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Matthew 6:14-15 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Romans 8:12-14 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Galatians 5:16-23 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things ye would. 18 But if ye he led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in times past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Matthew 18:2-4 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Lewis wrote before the emergence of research and writing about near death experiences. It would appear that heaven is described in the Bible much more literally than perhaps we imagined. Read John Burke's Imagine Heaven to gain a picture of the extraordinary impact on one's emotions and desire to be accepted and totally known by God, for those who have glimpsed heaven. It is widely described as 'coming home' for good reason.
Well it’s definitely a higher form of speaking compared to most but I suppose only those who are searching for truth through the use of the Bible could understand this.
I might need to read this, instead. I'm getting hung up on the vocabulary. It would be cool to see this transcribed into a modern take/ modern lingo so that it can be deciphered by the younger masses.
No surprise, real truth and the talk of God principles are never popular and saugt after. Why did it take me 50 years to find out this man had more serious writings other than the movie Narnia.?
Lewis says, "There we are warned that it may happen to any one of us to appear at last before the face of God and hear only the appalling words: “I never knew you. Depart from Me.” In some sense, as dark to the intellect as it is unendurable to the feelings, we can be both banished from the presence of Him who is present everywhere and erased from the knowledge of Him who knows all. We can be left utterly and absolutely outside-repelled, exiled, estranged, finally and unspeakably ignored. On the other hand, we can be called in, welcomed, received, acknowledged. We walk every day on the razor edge between these two incredible possibilities." What a shame that C.S. Lewis, who I think knew his Bible at least as well as the theologians he so often deferred to, was seemingly never able to grasp with child-like faith and confidence the clear promise of eternal life. 1 John 5:13 "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you HAVE eternal life." 2 Corinthians 5:1 For we KNOW that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 6 So we are always confident, KNOWING that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord... 16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." Romans 8:31 "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
I felt the same way listening to this. His lack of assurance and leaning towards maintaining or even earning our own salvation concerned me. It’s almost as if we are cultivating our salvation and walking the razors edge. I hope this isn’t the case
Venerable poet waking from stupor go out into the garden at sun dawn, realise all that beauty of natures yet finds himself in truer light animated like other creatures less endowed?!
I can’t help but feel that C.S. Lewis felt he had to earn his salvation via this video? As if God would not accept the thief on the cross as he was. Did the thief have time to cultivate a perfect love for Christ? I hardly doubt it. I am not advocating for a lack of devotion to Christ whatsoever but I am calling into question Lewis’s understanding of faith I guess. It seems like a very catholic view of salvation which makes sense considering he was great buds with Tolkien. Nevertheless, I enjoyed his take on glory from Gods perspective. It will indeed be nice to be found approved before him though I believe part of being in Christ is this already being a reality in the spiritual realm whether you are a babe in Christ or very mature.

We find our true self in Christ our Crucified Lord. No other way, any other self desire outside this is sinful flesh.
This has been very helpful for my Sunday school lessons
God bless Clive. He really was a gem
These are the best to listen to while falling asleep, the logic is explained so poetically
As always, amazing. I get so much peace from his readings...
In my opinion one of the best shorter writings of C. S. Lewis.
This is the best essay every written. It changed my life. It said the things I could not say. It articulates the longing that we all, especially Christians, feel. I don’t know if I would still have my faith if it were not for Lewis.
If deeper faith results in greater desire for heaven is that really a convincing proof?
"We are far too easily pleased."
This got the gears in my mind turning.
You could argue that your school work is sort of a cupcake as you said so don’t feel wrong at listening to CS Lewis
@@Ansatz66 It is a subjective truth. It cannot be proved objectively without it losing its depth or being distorted. I mean that each individual feels it just like hunger but you can't describe it very well... but we try..
There's always the tension between the already and not yet, isn't it?
Read the Christian mystics. It's there.
Pure inspiration from God.
God bless
Mesmerising!
“You have never talked to a mere mortal.”
Simple. True.
The terrible speed of the Mercy of God....
God bless CS' spirit.
Happy Easter everyone!
Happy easter 😊💛
The fact that this is the VA for Bretons from Elder Scrolls makes it even better
true beauty the remembrance of the simplicities of the spirit and through life the illumination of understandings
Beautiful words.
Humbling, indeed... mind blowing. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Imagine having a pint of Guinness with CS Lewis.
"Depart from me" I beg him im not living a flesh filled life to hear those words.
simply profound
Isaiah 9 vs. 6, " For unto us a Child is born. Unto us a Son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. "
Yeshua Ha Massiach (Jesus The Messiah)
Acts Chapter 4 verse 12: " There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved."
Who is Christ? Who is Jesus?
Born of a virgin, Mary.
Matthew Chapter 1 verse 20: " behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him (Joseph), in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for that (Christ)which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, the Christ, is God's word made flesh. Jesus is Jehovah God's (The Creator's) Word made into flesh.
1 John chapter 5 verse 7: " For there are three that bear a record in heaven, The Father, The Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one."
John chapter 1 verse 1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John chapter 1 verse 14: " And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
John chapter 1 verse 10: " He was in the world, and the world knew Him not."
Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12: " For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
How beautiful and awesome is God's Word, who is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, magnificent in all His glory, is He.Amen!
John's Vision Of Christ Seated On His Throne In Heaven:
Revelation chapter 4 verse 2 to 3: " Immediately, I (John), was in the Spirit, and behold a throne sat in Heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance, and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald."
Why did Christ Jesus came and sacrificed His precious life for sinners like us?
John chapter 3 verse 16: " For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that who ever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life."
Romans chapter 5 verse 8: " But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Christ came to undo the sin and eternal death brought upon the world through the sin of Adam.
Death in Adam, Life In Christ:
Romans chapter 5 verse 19: " For as by one man's disobedience(Adam), many were made sinners, so also by one Man's (Jesus)obedience, many will be made righteous."
Romans chapter 5 verse 18: " Therefore, as through one man's (Adam's) offense judgement came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even through one Man's (Christ's) righteous act, the free gift came to all men, resulting in the justification of life."
Romans chapter 5 verse 17: " For if by the one man's offense(Adam's offense), death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in the life through the One(Jesus Christ).
Romans chapter 5 verse 12: " Therefore, just as through one man (Adam)sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned."
Romans chapter 5 verse 21: " "So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Do you now see that through Adam, sin and death entered the world, so that is why Christ Jesus came to give life, and give it more abundantly? Yes Christ came to give eternal life through Salvation.
Adam's flesh brought sin, death, destruction, and condemnation.
1 Corinthians 15 : 21-22, "For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ, all shall be made alive."
Christ's sacrifice, the crucifixtion of His flesh, brings reconciliation of sins, life, resurrection, eternal life, salvation
Christ is coming back again, not as a sacrificial lamb.
Now do you see friends, Why Christ Jesus is so so Important for our Salvation?
Romans chapter 6 verse 23: " For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
John Chapter 3 verse 16: " For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that who ever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."
Salvation is free!
No one comes to the Father except through me."
Colassians chapter 1 verse 15 to 16:
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him."
John chapter 1 verse 1 to 4:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men."
I hope that you know Christ, and understand Christ better now,to the glory of God. Amen!
Christ is for all who will receive Him.
Please pray this prayer with me. Forgive me Lord of my sins. I renounce all of my sins past and present this day. I will sin no more with your help dear Lord. I want to be close to you Lord, now and forevermore. Keep me in Your bosom. Heal me oh Lord, and please help me, be near me and never let me go. Write my name in Your Book of Life. Please prepare a place for me, in Your Father's House. Hear my prayer dear Lord. In Jesus mighty name, I pray. Amen ****
May the Lord continue to be with you and strengthen you through any difficult journeys ahead.
This is how our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ said we should pray.Matthew chapter 6 verse 9 to 13:
"Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
Now that you understand who Christ is, share Christ with others. Amen!
Repent of your sins.
Submit to Jehovah-God.
Love God with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit.
Love one another.
Forgive one another.
It is written, "resist the devil, submit to God, and the devil will flee from you."
Hate sin with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit.
If you asked 20 men today what the highest of virtues is, 19 would probably reply ‘what’s a virtue’.
Interesting times indeed.....
So nice to have all this read to me by Jauffre at Weynon Priory
Psalm 7:11-12
11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If he turn not, he will wet his sword; he hath bend his bow, and made it ready.
2 Thessalonians 1: 7-10
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe(because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
Isaiah 55:6-9
6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Romans 8:12-14
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Galatians 5:16-23
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things ye would.
18 But if ye he led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in times past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Matthew 18:2-4
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
I recognize this- this is from his essay collection.
Mere Christianity is the most important book (and best book) ever written besides the bible.
King is coming
Such good apologetics wow
Mmm...God's wisdom.....thru cs
Lewis wrote before the emergence of research and writing about near death experiences. It would appear that heaven is described in the Bible much more literally than perhaps we imagined. Read John Burke's Imagine Heaven to gain a picture of the extraordinary impact on one's emotions and desire to be accepted and totally known by God, for those who have glimpsed heaven. It is widely described as 'coming home' for good reason.
Thank you for the recommendation I will look it up.
Thank you
This is so Deep to try and take it all in!
You have to meditate on this and chew it slowly!
Who is it that has undertstood this?
Well it’s definitely a higher form of speaking compared to most but I suppose only those who are searching for truth through the use of the Bible could understand this.
Lord have mercy on us.....

Great things AMEN
I might need to read this, instead. I'm getting hung up on the vocabulary. It would be cool to see this transcribed into a modern take/ modern lingo so that it can be deciphered by the younger masses.
I knew I heard that voice somewhere. This one of the voice actors from Elder Scrolls: Oblivion reading this lol
Perfect humility dispenses with modesty
Are we really evolving and getting smarter...is technology really helping us...I listen to this incredible writer, and I'm sure the answer is no
We are truly devolving
No surprise, real truth and the talk of God principles are never popular and saugt after. Why did it take me 50 years to find out this man had more serious writings other than the movie Narnia.?
Startling truth
ouch so much ouch
Humility and self-knowledge are the foundation of prayer, LOVE is the Pinnacle....
Does anyone know the artist who sketched this? He seems amused by the smoke from his pipe.
The smoke is the image of Aslan, the lion from The Chronicles of Narnia, written by CS Lewis.
15:40 about Glory
Lewis says, "There we are warned that it may happen to any one of us to appear at last before the face of God and hear only the appalling words: “I never knew you. Depart from Me.” In some sense, as dark to the intellect as it is unendurable to the feelings, we can be both banished from the presence of Him who is present everywhere and erased from the knowledge of Him who knows all. We can be left utterly and absolutely outside-repelled, exiled, estranged, finally and unspeakably ignored. On the other hand, we can
be called in, welcomed, received, acknowledged. We walk every day on the razor edge between these two incredible possibilities."
What a shame that C.S. Lewis, who I think knew his Bible at least as well as the theologians he so often deferred to, was seemingly never able to grasp with child-like faith and confidence the clear promise of eternal life.
1 John 5:13 "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you HAVE eternal life."
2 Corinthians 5:1 For we KNOW that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Romans 8:31 "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
He knows immortality but did not know if it would be in heaven
I felt the same way listening to this. His lack of assurance and leaning towards maintaining or even earning our own salvation concerned me. It’s almost as if we are cultivating our salvation and walking the razors edge. I hope this isn’t the case

Who is the "they" He speaks of ? Frankfurt School, Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, Marx ?
In fullest context, I'd venture to say, all non Believers, are "they".
God bless.

All of the above, as well as The Alphabet Mob
8:47 Spells
9:08 The evil inherent in our systems of education.
Thank you for sharing. :)
When English men could be called men
This is Lewis, himself? His actual voice? Wasn’t clear about that.
I think it is narrated by Ralph Cosham. I followed the link to buy the audio book.
