And I think the driving style you are learning on the controller will definitely transfer over to the wheel and pedals. I'm excited for you to make that upgrade. You won't regret it.
Very nice video, and amazing progress with your driving and your setup! I am just getting into sim racing (ACC) as well after years of some casual racing games. I love multiplayer race and the unpredictable part when racing other people. Hope to see more content as you continue your journey :)
Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you liked the video. It's been fun to progress in the hobby and document it in these videos. Good luck in your races. Maybe we'll see each other on a grid one day.
Hey, thank you for continuing to check out the channel, my friend. I don't have a PS5 just yet, so I'll be a bit late to try GT7, but I can't wait to see some proper gameplay footage. Let's hope it is good!
Awesome to see you stepping into the ACC world, did the same only a couple weeks ago, although quite quickly got onto good pace, I can only recommend as a beginner to not pick out one of the hardest cars to drive (mclaren, porsche). For me I began with the career mode and quickly jumped to the lowfuelmotorsport website for some actual racing once you get your SA up to 80! Good luck dude
Thanks for watching and for the feedback. Yea that McLaren can be a pain to drive. I've been trying to learn and get quicker at Silverstone for the last few days. It's a fantastic track, but it has also been quite a challenge for me (Maggotts, Becketts, and Chapel, so difficult for me haha). The McLaren was so touchy that I switched over to mainly the Ferrari and Mercedes. Were you playing GT Sport before this? ACC is such a different ballgame - it's such a test of focus and reaction when you aim for the limit in ACC.
Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you liked the video. Hopefully, I'll be able to make more content you enjoy, and maybe we will see each other in a race sometime!
Thank you for the positive feedback and for watching. You're right that McLaren can be tricky. I've been trying to learn and build up to a good pace at Silverstone. After some practice, I ended up switching cars because the McLaren was just too prone to going off. I usually drive the Ferrari or Mercedes now. This game can be quite a challenge. It's tough to get the hang of driving on the limit with these cars.
@@justinsdaysoff Macca, Mercedes and Ferrari all tricky cars, sadly 😂. But if I can be of any help, tyre pressures are everything in this game, so fixing them will give you a lot of grip (you can find how to do it very easily on the internet, but basically do 4 clean laps, go in the setup page and adjust your pressure with the difference from the hot tyres pressure), and as odd as it seems, make the rear tyres toe as negative of a value as you can. It will improve the handle of the car a lot. Welcome to simracing and enjoy most of all, sir :D

Hello Justin. Just subscribed to yo channel. I have a question if u don't mind my asking. How much would you say your whole setup is excluding the TV and PC?....I'm only concerned with the cockpit...wheel .pedals
Hey, thanks for watching and I'm glad you subscribed. So I would say you're looking at 1500 to 2000 USD for the whole setup with shipping and everything.
Great video! I actually ordered a gt track partly because you video, I also have a screaming creature on order. A tip for your racing is to use the dash cam, the camera where you don’t see the wheel but the dash, you should also try the bmw m4 out, it’s a great and pretty easy car to drive compared to the mclaren. Keep up the good work mate, great videos!
Thanks for the kind feedback, and thanks for watching my videos. The GT track continues to suit me well - it's very sturdy and handles the CSL DD's force with ease. I do sometimes wish I would've gone with an 80/20 aluminum rig, but I think this one will work well for a long time. I'm still going back and forth from the dashcam view or the one with the wheel, trying to find what I like the most. I sort of like the view with the wheel, but then I go into view settings and remove just the wheel, so I'm still farther back in the car but don't have the in-game wheel turning with mine. And yes, that McLaren is tricky! I'm learning Silverstone currently. It seems you have to drive the McLaren with way more caution than other cars. Anyways have a good day! And be careful with that screaming creature - those things are poweful beyond measure!
Great video...I'm a beginner too...I'm still waiting for my Fanatec bundle and currently use a Thrustmaster...I think ACC is the best especially as it has the commentary that gives you that extra layer of immersion...the graphics and sounds are amazing. Automobilsta 2 is also really good as it covers more car types. To get the best settings for your Fanatec DD have you gone on the Fanatec forums as they give you the best settings for each game. From the videos I've watched everyone recommends using Fanalab to set them...worth a look...
Thanks for watching and for your comment. I usually have Fanalab open when I play - they have some recommended settings on there for ACC that feel pretty good, and I've just been sticking to those. I'll look into this further and see if there is more worth changing. Enjoy your new wheel when it arrives!
Hey man, I like your no nonsense style and your vids are nice to watch. Good job! Maybe you can do reviews about your rig, wheelbase etc. Its a great way to gain followers and to help other sim racing beginners. I dont know if you have ACC also on PS, but a comparison between the game on console or PC would also be great, like difference in FFB, on wich settings your PC run the game compare to the 4k and 60 fps on PS5 and Xbox Series, etc
Hey, nice drive! I bet as you transitioned into the night time drive, you actually found that your front end bit a little better into the corner and more stable out? Car setup can make a pretty good difference in races in ACC. Especially tire pressure. Loved the dry humor, btw, big fan of sarcasm ;)
Thanks for the positive feedback! It's cool to hear that somebody likes the humor, you start to wonder haha. I notice that my first few laps in the dark (when I have time sped up x48) can be a bit chaotic as I adjust to the changes in the car's behavior. What is the optimal tire pressure on a dry circuit, would you say? I'm sure it varies from car to car. I have been aiming for low 27s. Have a good one!
@@justinsdaysoff It does vary a bit, I generally try to keep my tire pressure between 26.4-27.2 lbs. I was curious if your driving improved at night since your front tires were at a slightly lower pressure. Have you checked out GT7 yet by chance? Driving physics are soo much better than Sport.
Thank you for the advice @Hardly Tech ! Since making this video, I have noticed that the occasional fastest lap will come after nightfall, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is due to tire pressure. And no, I haven't gotten a chance to try GT7 yet, but I've heard awesome things. Have you? How close is the physic's engine to a sim?
@@justinsdaysoff I've been playing GT7 instead of making my Tuesday video, 😄 that's how good it is! The physics engine, with assists in the options turned off, and adjusting TCS per car is still accessible and easy to navigate, but the game plays closer to ACC/AMS2. A lot more detail through the wheel, a lot more nuanced than Sport. It doesn't feel like you're driving a sled.. Personally, I'm very impressed so far.
You turn on the LED display for the wheel in FanaLab, which you keep running during gameplay. There may also be a setting to turn it on in ACC. Thank you for watching.
Hey glad you saw the new video and I hope you're doing well. Hopefully, I can live stream at some point. I think that would be pretty fun. I also want to dive into GT7 - only I don't have a PS5 yet!
I have the CSL DD Pro pre-ordered. I'm looking to get a rig and I notice you have the F-GT-how is it? are you happy with it? Does it have a lot of movement especially with the boost kit?
Hey, thanks for watching. So I specifically have the NLR GTTrack cockpit. It is a very sturdy rig, and while it has some very, almost unnoticeably slight flex relative to a higher-end 80/20 aluminum rig, I've experienced minimal problems with it. I hope you enjoy your CSL DD when it arrives!
@@justinsdaysoff awesome! I’ve been looking at a few options and the FGTT looks to be very viable! It comes with a seat also so this may just be it for me
Hey Justin! Nice video…especially your personal mod 🤣 I ordered a similar setup of wheelbase and wheel (CSL DD with bosst kit instead of GT DD Pro) which will be shipped next week 😊 I just wanted to ask if you noticed any issues with the Mclaren wheel and the simplyfied QR? I read of some people having clicky noises i.e. in fast direction changes because the QR doesn’t attach the wheel to the base properly. Did you notice anything? Can your QR handle the 8nm easily? Thx for your respond and greets from Germany! And remember…don‘t drink and drive 🤣👋🏼
Hello, and thank you for the positive feedback on my video :). I hope you will enjoy your CSL DD as much as I do mine. I have not had any significant issues with the QR lite, and it handles the 8nm fine (for now). If my other one breaks, I have a metal one (QR wheel-side), but I've had no issues. I think it can be hit or miss. Some of the CSL DD and the QR lite components are made of plastic when I feel a more robust material was in order. No matter what, some of that plastic will erode, and I think the 8nm FFB stresses these components a bit and demands a lot of precision in terms of their dimensions. For now, my wheel is in good working order. It's practically the luck of the draw whether you will get a clicking QR or not, I think, which is not ideal and it is unfortunate that Fanatec is having issues with such an important component. I hope that you will have no issues. My litter sister taught English outside of Frankfurt :). Greetings from California, USA.
Similar specs to mine (ryzen 5800x, 3060 Ti, 32GB ddr4 3600mhz, 512GB M.2) custom built and I can play ACC full maxed out at 4k ... fun game and planning on getting that same wheel base since I also play GT and soon GT7, getting the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro premium bundle. Cool setup👌🏼
Thanks! Yeah, I run epic settings at 4K fine, but the GPU load is at 100% at that level. Its temperature is well within normal range, but I can't play in 4K while capturing game footage for these videos, so I down the resolution a bit. Overall it seems like an excellent setup for 4K gaming. Enjoy your wheel when you get it!
Next video you show off your 20,000 full motion hyper realistic screaming creature rig hahah You should try iracing , variety is awesome and licensing promotion system.
Haha, thanks for watching. I’m going to try iracing shortly for sure. I want to try a car with more speed and downforce, plus the online community is unmatched. I am excited to give that a try.
Wait for the new update It won't be far from a pc version and saves a lot of money as pc is very expensive to build to run 4k currently Only time I would personally recommend a pc is if you are putting in big hours and want to start league racing on a weekly basis
Hey, thanks for watching. So I played a bit of ACC on my PS4 pro before getting the PC. People's perspectives will differ, but visually, it did not seem like a very polished version of the game. For one, the graphics had to take a BIG cut to run reliably on an 8th-generation console. I found the graphics quality low enough to be distracting, but I was playing on a 55-inch screen right behind my wheelbase, and I also may be pickier than others. Nonetheless, the physics engine is nearly identical, and so the game is still playable and enjoyable in that regard. The good news is that ACC is being optimized for the more powerful next-gen consoles like PS5, which I imagine will make ACC on console a much better experience. That update should be out very soon. If ACC is your game of choice, I think the updated version for console will treat you quite well.
@@justinsdaysoff thanks. On PS4 and my old screen, ACC is not terrible, stuff at a distance is more pixelated than I’d like, and the cars in the rear view mirror are also grainy (AC is much better for some reason). Looking forward to playing it on PS5. Don’t see myself getting a PC like yours nice as that’d be.
Thanks for a really interesting video, would be interested to hear if you had configured the field of view on GT Sport on the PlayStation when using your screen on its swing mount? If so, did it enhance the experience? Thanks again for a great video 👍
You're welcome, thank you for watching, and I'm glad you liked it. So, unfortunately, the FOV customization in GT Sport isn't as advanced as in other titles, and I couldn't find a good FOV calculator online. However, I adjusted the cockpit view to my liking, and with the monitor up closer in general, it enhances the experience of GT Sport all the same. When the screen is up closer, it just feels more like what'd you'd see sitting in the car, and it makes your braking points and apexes a bit easier to spot as well since they're just so much more significant being closer up. Have a great day!
Hey, thanks for watching. All of my equipment is in the description if you're interested in the other things I've purchased. I ordered a prebuilt NZXT computer from their website.
I keep the force feedback at 100% on the wheel settings. In GT Sport, I have the strength at 8/10, and in ACC, I race with the gain at 80-90%. I like the force feedback to be pretty strong, but not entirely at its maximum. Thanks for watching.
I'm happy to hear you're looking forward to my next sim racing video :). I'm going to try to get some footage this weekend and edit up some new content soon. Thanks for watching the channel.
Because I keep my force feedback pretty high, I would say that sometimes the wheel transmits all 8nm of torque. I've used the wheelbase both with and without the boost kit and I would recommend the boost kit to have the full 8nm available.
Hey! Glad I stumbled onto your channel. I’m new to this stuff too and been trying to get more immersed into sim racing. Lmk if you or anyone want to get into a lobby together and race and try to get better together
Hey Anthony, thanks for watching! It would be fun to race with some subscribers down the road and have considered it. I may start streaming as well if my next few videos continue to interest people. I'll let you know!
Hi Justin! Great Video! I am planning on getting a pc for sim racing too. I want ACC in high resolution and fancy graphics. How did you manage to get stable fps on your LG OLED? Which resolution are you running on tv and in game? Do you notice any input lag? Looking forward to hearing from you! Keep on racing! 👍
Hey, thanks for watching. So you can see my PC specs and other hardware in the description to get an idea of what I use. There is very little input lag in the LG TV if your input is in "game" mode through a standard HDMI cable. The computer can run the game in 4K, epic settings at about 80ish frame per second depending on the number of other cars, but the GPU is operating at 100% in 4K (granted, I'm in epic settings, with shadows and all of that turned quite hight). Even working at 100%, the GPU stays cool and runs fine. Where the 3070ti shines is at 1440p gaming. My PC runs epic settings at 120fps and uses less than half of the GPU at that resolution. You could also just get a 3070. Good luck.
Nice man you did it. Only 2 advices: Fistly: Maybe try the Camera without the Wheel. Only the Dashboard. For me it feels way more immersive. Secondly: put in the Hours of practice and After some time the times are gonna fall like crazy and you gonna get way more consistent.
Hey, I hope you're doing well, and it's nice to hear from you again. Always appreciate your comments. I think I will try that dash view without the wheel. I was debating which to use for this video and thought maybe viewers would prefer to see the wheel, but it seems like top-tier drivers choose not to bother with the wheel on the screen. And you're exactly right - time to practice and "get good"...hopefully ha. How do you manage a new track when first starting out? Do you research visual braking points/markers before, or do you just get the hang of it by straightaway putting in laps? I used to use the cones on GTSport, which is no longer an option for me in ACC.
@@justinsdaysoff thanks for the nice words man. I mean its just Personal preferenz id say. I got realy distracted by the virtual wheel. But its just what works best for you. Braking references is a thing on its own 😅 you have to work it out yourself id say. Because its very different from track to track and even from corner to corner at times. Sometimes its the beginning of a curb, sometimes a braking board or sometimes its just feeling. But its very important, when you are learning braking points you have to brake like you gonna make the corner. For example busstop in Spa. You pick the 150 Meter Board First (wich obviosly is way to Early). Most people would ease off the brakes because they feel like they gonna be to slow for the corner. But its better to brake all the way down to your Turn in Speed. Then you see how far you are away from the apex and you know how far later you can pick your braking point. (If it makes sense 🙈) also important is that you don’t use shadows as braking markers, since we have dynamic time and weather shadows could be gone or in a different place and you have no idea where to brake. Its Track by track corner by corner. I guess watching the better drivers in this Game could be helpful but you have to keep in mind that they gonna have a way higher cornering speed than you, plus they gonna brake deeper into the corner than you. So picking their braking points might not work for your current skill level. Get comfortable with the tracks, the braking points and the car, then think about the more advanced techniques like trail braking or how to create a good slipangle. Go step by step. It takes time. It took time for everyone. It took me almost a year to brake into the 1:53s on the Nürburgring. But now I hit them almost every lap. Practice is key 😅
@@maximilian1647 right, but why turn off the wheel in the Sim which is the wheel in the car? How is it more realistic to be looking at your actual wheel which is not the one that is in the car?
Thanks for watching and for this comment; it made me realize I hadn't switched this particular HDMI input on my TV to game mode. My PS4 input was in game mode, but not the new PC one. I noticed that hint of lag and thought I was simply stuck with it, so I appreciate you reminding me as it lead to me fixing the problem. Have a great day.
If you buy such a PC you need a good Monitor too. Idk how much hz your TV has but maybe buy a proper gaming Monitor with min. 144hz and maybe WQHD. Much better than most TV's. Your TV has a high latency as ich can see in your wheel cam.
Thanks for the tip. It is an LG OLED TV, 55in. I forgot to switch the TV into the correct mode for this video, but when it is in "GAME" mode, it has a pretty low latency and 120Hz refresh rate. Not perfect, but it does the job for the time being.
Hey, thanks for watching. So the PC is for more than just sim racing, but in the context of sim racing, I knew I was going to want to play iRacing eventually, which I know is not going to be making its way to console anytime soon. Many other excellent sim racing games are PC exclusives, as well. I've still got my eye on a PS5, though, if I can find one for retail price. I know I don't want to stop playing Gran Turismo altogether. Overall, I think that PC has a lot of advantages, but there are a lot of good games to play and races to be had on console as well. You can't go too wrong with either.
Thank you for the advice. I noticed that slight sag but figured it was okay since it came like that, but I can see how that would wear on the components over time. After reading your comment, I looked into it more, and I purchased a brace online that should prop up the unsupported end of the GPU nicely. Thanks again.
Justin thanks for the video the physics in ACC are better than Gran Turismo. I will buy ACC for PlayStation 5 a computer is voodoo science I live in a small town no support. I have the same rig as you. Justin checkout Beyond matter racing he has a beautiful rig I'm waiting for the next video.
You're welcome - more importantly, thank you for watching it and for commenting. I don't think it's a bad thing to stick with console. I completely understand. It's easier and more convenient, and with the performance leap of the next-gen consoles, I think ACC should perform pretty well, and you'll be able to enjoy it fully. Have a great day.
Wtf did I just watch. I have never seen anyone try to narrate something post production and try to purposely make it come off as if it's live.... very awkward.
Though you're pretty blunt in your opinions, I appreciate the criticism. My ideal scenario when making these videos is to narrate live as I drive, but it often proves too difficult as it's just something I haven't practiced much. I make these videos for fun, I'm new to it, and there's a learning curve. Rather than scrap a whole vid, I'll record a voiceover in post. My intention is not to trick people into thinking it's live commentary; otherwise, I wouldn't include the camera angle on my face while driving. Anyways, have a good day, and thanks for the comment. Hopefully, if UA-cam recommends me to you in the future, it'll be something you find worthwhile.
Omg that’s crazy setup, have you found force feedback settings ?

The physics engine, with assists in the options turned off, and adjusting TCS per car is still accessible and easy to navigate, but the game plays closer to ACC/AMS2. A lot more detail through the wheel, a lot more nuanced than Sport. It doesn't feel like you're driving a sled.. Personally, I'm very impressed so far.
Great video. 👍 thank you.
You're welcome - thank you for checking it out!
How i can activate the display led for the gear and speed, on the mclaren v2 ?
You turn on the LED display for the wheel in FanaLab, which you keep running during gameplay. There may also be a setting to turn it on in ACC. Thank you for watching.
Would love to see more live game play of you playing ACC or Gran Turismo 7.😍
It comes with a seat also so this may just be it for me
Good job
Thank you!
Hey Justin!
Nice video…especially your personal mod 🤣
I ordered a similar setup of wheelbase and wheel (CSL DD with bosst kit instead of GT DD Pro) which will be shipped next week 😊
I just wanted to ask if you noticed any issues with the Mclaren wheel and the simplyfied QR?
Next video you show off your 20,000 full motion hyper realistic screaming creature rig hahah
You should try iracing , variety is awesome and licensing promotion system.
Haha, thanks for watching. I’m going to try iracing shortly for sure. I want to try a car with more speed and downforce, plus the online community is unmatched. I am excited to give that a try.
Agree, the AI are so much better in ACC and AC than GTS. How much better though is ACC on PC over PS4?
Wait for the new update
It won't be far from a pc version and saves a lot of money as pc is very expensive to build to run 4k currently
Only time I would personally recommend a pc is if you are putting in big hours and want to start league racing on a weekly basis
AMS2 and RFACTOR2 are the best to experience ffb, you need to check them out.
Please send me a link to where you bought your PC, i am also looking to make the jump from console to PC, and is it really worth it?
Hey, thanks for watching. All of my equipment is in the description if you're interested in the other things I've purchased. I ordered a prebuilt NZXT computer from their website.
How much torque do you use in you fanatic csl dd pro
I keep the force feedback at 100% on the wheel settings. In GT Sport, I have the strength at 8/10, and in ACC, I race with the gain at 80-90%. I like the force feedback to be pretty strong, but not entirely at its maximum. Thanks for watching.
Hey, you should also try AMS2, feels different to ACC but so much fun.
Hey, thanks for watching. I will add that to my list of games to try.
Would love to see your progress in acc
I'm happy to hear you're looking forward to my next sim racing video :). I'm going to try to get some footage this weekend and edit up some new content soon. Thanks for watching the channel.
Do you use all the 8nm?
Because I keep my force feedback pretty high, I would say that sometimes the wheel transmits all 8nm of torque. I've used the wheelbase both with and without the boost kit and I would recommend the boost kit to have the full 8nm available.
Thank you for answering!, I enjoy your videos
@@joantorres119 No problem! Have a good day.
Welcom to the red pill
IRACING
@@justinsdaysoff sounds good!
Only 2 advices:
Fistly: Maybe try the Camera without the Wheel.
Why? You see your wheel when you’re driving a real car.
@@craigyirush3492 yeah and you do see your wheel and your hands while Simracing.
@@maximilian1647 right, but why turn off the wheel in the Sim which is the wheel in the car? How is it more realistic to be looking at your actual wheel which is not the one that is in the car?
What are your graphic settings please
I run the "epic" settings.
It looks like you have a little input lag. Do your tv have game mode?
Thanks for watching and for this comment; it made me realize I hadn't switched this particular HDMI input on my TV to game mode. My PS4 input was in game mode, but not the new PC one. I noticed that hint of lag and thought I was simply stuck with it, so I appreciate you reminding me as it lead to me fixing the problem. Have a great day.
@@justinsdaysoff im glad i worked, have a Nice day to you also. 🙂
You got all this when GT7 is right around the corner? You think its worth just playing PC games instead?
Hey, thanks for watching. So the PC is for more than just sim racing, but in the context of sim racing, I knew I was going to want to play iRacing eventually, which I know is not going to be making its way to console anytime soon. Many other excellent sim racing games are PC exclusives, as well. I've still got my eye on a PS5, though, if I can find one for retail price. I know I don't want to stop playing Gran Turismo altogether. Overall, I think that PC has a lot of advantages, but there are a lot of good games to play and races to be had on console as well. You can't go too wrong with either.
@@justinsdaysoff Thx. Personally I'm deciding on a ps5 or upgrading my gear and sticking with PC games.
Randomly came up: Please fix GPU sag. It's begging you and it's sad to see such a rare piece sagging down under its own weight.
I wouldn't try those dives online you'll get turn appart lol. Not sure about that squared intro makes you look un natural and uncomfortable.
