For anyone using the clamp, just a quick FYI.
I managed to snap the piece of metal that the thing you turn tightens into (The bit that looks kind of like a squared off Y shape from the side) when trying to eliminate the up and down wobble you see in this vid.
I've no idea how much torque I got up to when it snapped but I was only using my hand to tighten.
Fortunately for me the clamp was only ever meant to be temporary and I was aware I was pushing it to see how much it could take, I just thought I should say something so it can be avoided by others.

I also use the GT DD Pro 5nm on a desk, at first I felt the clamp wasn't good cause it was flexing, but than I tightened it, and tightened it, and tightened it again, and I must say you can REALLY REALLY tighten that thing HARD! In the end there's no more flex anymore as the desk itself is very solid. Never thought this clamp would be so strong, but it is!

I have seen a lot of sim tips. But if it comes to desk chairs, I always see options that I do not think are good. Like in this video with putting the wheel in the shoe. I personally use "locking chair casters" for my chair. A cheap (20 - 30 dollar) solution that will work better then most other solutions. I just lock them when I am going to use my wheel and that is, it works perfect.

There are wheel stoppers you can get for office chairs that replace the wheels with a stationary casters and then you can put a grippy material on the bottom that will keep it from sliding. Carpet padding works well.

The desk looked fine, the clamp was the problem looking at the video. That clamping for that wheel looks terrible, not sturdy at all, wobbling all over but the table kept rigid. It looked like the clamp would break way before the table moved.

The up and down movement is really bad. And it's not the desk moving, it's the clamp. They just didn't design it well. The base needs to be much further into the desk so that there's not as much torque, better seating position, and a deeper grab on the desk. Don't know how this product made it past r&d because it sucks. Even at 5nm it's terrible when trying to drift. The wheel moves a full 2 inches up and down.

I see a lot of people feeling attacked by your video and trying to prove you wrong. They doing it all wrong, buying good wheelbases, instead of a cockpit first. But trying to justify it, so they feel better about their poor choices. I’m sure most of them will put a 30 psi turbo on a complete stock car.

Yes. On a decent desk. Not a table with 4 cheap legs. And not with that piece of shit table clamp.

I'm using the 5nm on my desk fine but it's a proper desk absolutely no flex or movement, at least use a decent desk and tighten the clamp properly.
You should remove desk in title to a rubbish desk, I'm sorry but this is a ridiculous video, the clamp is clearly not tightened.

The most popular desks are from IKEA. This is mentioned in the video. The pinned comment has a buyer talking how the clamp broke. The video is correct.

That setup in the video is the most common setup used by UA-camrs and many other people: it is not just a frail Ikea desk, it is a kitchen hard top, sturdier than most desks in the market, rigid and solid; the problem, as usual with most of the wheelbases on the market, is the lame clamp.
Also, I've an old T150 RS Pro clamped on a Playseat Challenge: the problem is still the usual, the lame ass stupid clamp.
