Another enjoyable video Andrew. Something a little different- those Welsh lines are a challenge with all that flora and fauna plus the lighting will be tricky too. But very rewarding. Thank you for another great watch!
Thanks for that Andrew - two railways I have not visited - and I live here! A reflection shot from the WHR to be posted on my Flickr stream! Regards, Pete.
Nice work Andrew. Fantastic place is Wales for the little engines. Ive spent a lot of time at VoR in the past on holidays and would love to go back soon. Took a trip on the Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog and need to return for the Welsh Highland some day. Great film and looking forward to the next
Thanks Keith, my first time travelling on the VoR, a lovely little railway, as are all the welsh narrow gauge lines. I've yet to do the Welsh Highland all the way through, its a bucket list one.
Beautiful shots! I've been to north Wales many times hoping for a photography week (I used to be hugely into landscape photography) and almost every single time I was thwarted by the weather, so well done on making the most of your good opportunities!
Thanks very much, thankfully the weather didn't impact too much, these visits were at the end of a grand tour of Wales, with some great weather mixed with the rain. I'd not been to North Wales for 10 years and I'd forgotten how beautiful it is and how charming these little railways are.
@@AndrewShenton They really are. When my kids were younger, we had a few days camping near Beddgelert, and a few times a day we'd hear the mournful whistle of the Welsh Highland Railway locos. It rained most of the week, however!
Brilliant video and some lovely shots, also noticed at the start and the end clips you were at the Disused Station on Penmanpool on the former Ruabon to Barmouth Line
Cheers, Simon, thanks for the lovely comment, yes, we’d cycled from Dolgellau to Barmouth on the old line during the day, what a stunning honeypot of a line that would be if still open. We then came back to Penmaenpool for tea, it’s s a very quaint spot with the wooden toll bridge and railway remains, I’ve seen this spot on a Portillo episode.
Thats superb Andy, I seriously really enjoyed this episode, I was due to go to the narrow Gauge railways last year on an organised photo shoot which included a slate mine and real freights but it all got canned. I think you have found the perfect spot for me to try out my moving water pictures. I can feel a weekend away coming up. Nice work bud.
Thanks Eddie, there’s a fascination in the Welsh narrow gauge that I don’t get in other heritage railways and with such a concentration of contrasting lines in a small area. The Welsh Highland timetable looks limited at the moment, the day we were in the pass there were only two return trips for the day, maybe next year the timetable improves.
Lovely pictures of the train and engine even thought it was raining, it still looked great. nice to travel with you.
Many thanks! Its a not far from the wettest place in the country, so rain has to be expected sometimes, although we did have quite a lot of it.
Splendid Andrew, most enjoyable.
Glad you enjoyed it Andy.

Nice one, Steve, yes its good to get something a little different, all with their own challenges in getting something visually interesting.
Some great shots especially liked the paranamic
Thanks a lot! I was particularly pleased how this one turned out, sometime I've done panoramas and they just haven't stitched together.
1 minute and I'm already here! Can't wait to see what's in store for this video
Thanks so much, I hope you enjoyed the little welsh steam engines.

Thanks, Peter, I'll make sure I look out for your WHR shot. I'm guilty of not visiting places in my locality too.
Great stuff again Andrew, your presentation make these so easy to watch aswell.
Cheers, Rob and thanks for your support.

Superb stuff as ever

I'm glad you enjoyed your meal Andrew, i would not know what a good one was as im vegetarian for 70 years, but i did enjoy the film .
Thanks, Peter, this was the last night of our grand tour of Wales so splashing out on a pub meal, I admire your years as a vegetarian though.

Some fantastic shots in a beautiful part of the country. Well done Andrew! 👍🏻
Thanks Garreth, yes, it is a fine part of the world, with some great little railways.
That second Railway based off the Skarloey Railway in the RWS and the Thomas and Friends series
Thanks Laura, I was reading about Rev Awdrys early involvement with the Talyllyn Railway, I can just image these little trains giving the inspiration.
Great video....BTW, have you ever done the Welshpool & Lalnfair railway ? It is a lovely run.........
Many thanks, that's one line I've never visited, I guess I should.
Me too
Thanks John, I hope you enjoyed the little welsh engines.
