you really started a trend with these restorations, so much so that there's a ton of quick-grab channels that obviously fake their restorations. Glad you're back, real ones haven't missed you
Keep checking periodically to see a miracle and hearing from you again. You and Diecast Resurrection are literally the reason that I got into diecast customs years ago. Now I’m up to the level of using LEDs in my customs! Even had decals made for the name of my custom “shop”……. UNITZ CUSTOMZ
This was cool. Good to see you exploring a new angle with the powder coating, your explanation bringing us along was nice too. I like how you try to keep your setups realistic for others to follow and not some complex difficult specialist thing.
Ive actually found, thanks to a tip from a friend, that using a UV light can help cure chrome paint. Ive started using Mirror chrome paint which is amazing and brushes on quite well, I then throw it in a nail UV lamp for 30 minutes and it cures it. Might also work for the chrome paint youre using.
I know I’ve said this in the past on your channel but I really would like you to know, that your amazing work has gotten me into this hobby. I thank you so much for introducing me to the hotwheel customizing world. Thank you
You sound like the “how it’s made” guy, or at least have a similar tone, and I really like it cuz I just get submerged and hypnotized to learn. It’s honestly therapeutic and somewhat productive at the same time, since in the future I plan on working on my own model kits, you give valuable information to help me get a better understanding of the whole process even though you mainly do restoration.
You have really upped your game, Sir! After giving us detailed tips on how to apply paint and then powders and washes for distressing effects, you moved to restoring chromed plastics with Molotow and then plating for metal parts and now powder coating. Bravo and thank you!
I'm going to say it and I mean this in the best possible way I'm pretty sure you're John C Riley doing a humble and amazing hobby channel. Now that that's off my chest keep up with the videos I always look forward to watching them.
I used to work for a company that had a huge power coating set up, so I know how fun it can be, great video, loved the finished product 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘
Glad you're back! I love your content, very informative and entertaining. Please consider running your audio through a (dynamic range) compressor to even out the loudness and make what you're saying easier to hear.
Glad you're back! This was an interesting video. Gives me an idea of how Hot Wheels painted their cars back in the late 60s and 70s. Great job as always.
Glad to see you back. Your videos were inspiring to me to begin airbrushing and restoring old cars. First restore I did was the Matchbox BP tow truck. Fond childhood memories. Keep up the educational videos. This made me want to try powdercoating
I've seen powder coating used in larger restorations, such as large tonka toys, but never on a small diecast. Pretty nice. One thing I've seen them do is to do a base primer coat, sanded down, to eliminate some of the pitting. Then follow up with the actual paint.
I really love this channel I'm glad you're putting videos up again when you were assembling the car I was just looking at the rear window that was on the table
@@baremetalHW it's heavy paint coating. I'm not sure how to avoid it, I just was an inspection/assembly gal. The specks I know are dirt/dust particles that got onto your paint surface. For that you need a "clean" booth. Some place that it can't get in. But that too costly/involved for a hobbyist. (In my opinion)
@@shellygenter8585 yeah that's the problem... I can create a "clean room" but then it takes it out of what normal people can do. But I can probably do a lighter coat... just inexperience on my part... thanks for the help!!
Excellent work my friend. As always, you never disappoint with your craftsmanship. Keep the videos coming. Be safe, take care, and God bless you and your family.
This is so cool! Thanks for sharing the process. I have considered getting a powder coater for things for my big car projects, but never thought about it for the small stuff. Might have to try it now since I have a booth and a dedicated toaster oven already. Good to have you posting more regularly again. Hope all is well with you.
Great work on this! Had no idea you could powder coat something small like this without figment issues. Of course, if it can be done you’ll have a video for it! Thanks for the break from work...
I've seen powder coaters pre heat the metal to be painted in the oven to get rid of any impurities .let it cool then powder coat as normal. Hope this is of help, would love to see more powder coating .keep up the good work. Tim ,England UK.
You should make 15/30 minutes long videos about Hot Wheels/Matchbox history. I'm watching all your previous videos and you're super interesting when explaining details about the redline era and all.
I have lots of old Matchbox and Corgi cars that need restoring, but there are so many tools that you need that I haven't been able to do it. I would like to one day.
First thing, thanks for showing that powder coating small object is easy and affordable. I find myself powder coating instead of spray painting these days. I have been playing with powder coat and also baked epoxy coatings for firearms. I use a cheap setup from eBay for applying powder. Something I have found to be very helpful to keep the oven at the proper temp, this being very important when coating some aluminum alloys, was a temperature controller I got on Amazon for about 15 bucks. The unit learns the response of the oven's heater and never overshoots the programmed temp by more tha n5 degrees. I have obtain really great results with the simple mod ina cheap toaster oven.
He's back, guys! he finally recovered his UA-cam password!

Glad I wasn't going insane.
Lmmfaoooo randomly hit me. Lost my shit lol
You are the Bob Ross of restoring model cars.
Not only is he great at restoring and teaching, his voice is calming. I always feel...like I've just finished therapy.

Welcome back! So glad to have you back with this beautiful piece of British motoring history.
to me the E Type would always be one of the most beautiful cars from the 70s,especially the mk1 E Type roadster

Cool resto. I've always wondered about how good the harbor freight powder coaster was. Now I know. Thank you.
I've been using one for years. They work well enough for occasional use, but I would not try to use one on a daily basis.

Wow, second car restoration video I've seen with Eastwood powder coating gear in use. The first was Ronald Finger's Fiero restoration.

Nice to see your return. I've assembled metal units in factories that powder coat...just know I can see the defects. But Nice car restoration overall.
What would you do to reduce them? I have some ideas but would like an expert opinion...
