Hi Dan, I use Owatrol paint conditioner. It has rust inhibitor in it. Brush it on and buff with a rag. Its like honey and dries to a matt shine after a couple of days. Available in 0.5L & 1L tins. If you want to remove it just use petrol or white spirit
I use owatrol on my b414. Lives outside all year and the patina hasn’t chanced a bit. Gives it a slight oiled look all the time. Only thing is it can yellow abit over time. You paint it on lightly
Tractor and machinery magazine i get had a two page artical on owatrol oil in it last year i think it was, telling us all about how it works. It is getting well known now around the vintage scene, for keeping vehicles in original patina! as it brings out the colour of the paint, and it dries with like a satin finish. It is much better than oil, as anything that's oiled up or oil and diesel stays wet, and end up getting it all over you when using your vehicle. plus dust and muck sticks to it, like it does on a tractor engine, or any place where there's an oil leak! It's expensive, but you get a quality product for it, and it has been designed to give a very original look, also good for wood too!
I use owatrol, absolutely spot on at preventing rust, but keeps a patina. Lightly brush it on, leave 10-15 mins, then wipe off with a rag. Do it in the shade of a barn and a few panels at a time. The trick is to use it sparingly.
A wipe over with ATF. Its cheap, it cleans and protects as you use it. As with all products, nothing last even galv corrodes away. So, a wipe down with ATF as required.
Donkey's earwax and Unicorn sweat?! :) Ha! Sorry Dan, can't help you. I have a couple of 1/32 scale Masseys but I just get a bottle of pledge out and a duster once in a while. Does the trick.
What ever you use I think it need to be oil based to give it longevity.. can’t beat oil or diesel. For more environmentally friendly, there lanoguard but kinda hear mixed about that
Bilt hamber do a product but don’t know the name it’s water based . I reckon that brush on rust inhabiter stuff is better owatrol. Diesel and oil sprayed on works but attracts dirt but works. Brush on stuff will be good for the big panels n spray on stuff for hard to reach places . Good idea Dan
@@CowfarmerDan they are only original once I e got some tractors painted up and some I wouldn’t dare paint as it would ruin them I need to do the same as you on some of them I know of several people who use owatrol

Ive used Lanoguard on old paintwork and it looks good
I use Owatrol on my 135. No complaints 😊
We use ACF-50 oil or Lanoguard on our tractors. Both available readily in the UK. ACF-50 can be bought in aerosol cans.
We've used Owatrol on our TED-20, very pleased with the result.
Good luck with getting a good product to stop the rust. 👍🏼👍🏼
Linseed oil cheap and works well but does attract dust, or diesel mixed with white spirit 👍

I’ve heard lots of positive review about ankor wax from morris lubricants. I haven’t tried it myself though.
We finely spray our combine with diesel and that seems to work, it's 30 odd yrs old and got no rust...
Hope you have a prosperous New Year, looking forward to the progress on the 165
Owatrol is what you are looking for Dan!😉👍

Never used anything apart from a spray with WD40 or a mix of oil and diesel 🙄😳😂 an both works well 👍
Old transmission oil with diesel with air blowgun always do defender underdog after jet washing works well
Owatrol paint preserver sounds like the perfect product.

Boiled linseed oil is what I was recommended.
ATF/dextron and something to thin it like petrol and a paint brush and rag dry it
I like auto glym super resin Polish its good but not sure how it works on rusty metal its great on paint
An oily rag it keeps the shine on the paint and keeps it away from rust
Anything by Bilt Hamber is fab
Maybe some clear lacquer paint after getting the metal rid of any dampness.
Very interested in seeing what you decide to trial as my MF35 needs the same treatment 👍
I have used old backend oil works good
I am a new paint/powser coated person, but I will be interested in the comments nad your eventual choice.
I use boiled linseed oil on very rusty stuff, don't know how it works on 'good' paint.
👍👍👍 🚜
Ahh you already know about the unicorn sweat.. 🤣
I've heard boiled linseed oil is good Dan
ACF50
Wash it with oil
👍👍🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏🙏👏👏👌👌💪💪
Why not paint it?
I like the weathered look, I'd rather keep the original paint unless it's too far gone.
