Wow... I was at this show. My two young kids, hubby, 2 cousins and their kids, my bestie at the time and her daughter. We did a mini tour...still trying to heal from Jerry's passing.😢
This was Alpine, I was tripping balls behind the stage. This is the first time I've listened to it even though I have the DAT clone right here since the day after. It was my first blaze after Jerry and at Alpine with a fist full of dynamite it was just more than I could bear. I was right up front but as soon as the boomers kicked in I had to leave. I do remember the looks of the non-deadheads when I was trying to get in my door of my room at the Alpine Lodge. I had everything from every pocket I had, spread out on the floor in front of my door, trying to decipher what a door key was, when this couple come walking by with a horrified look on their face, like I might eat them or something. I finally figured out what a key was and just laid out on the bed, tripping balls. I could hear them in the distance but it was just noise at that point, so it didn't matter......anyway.
I was at the Desert Sky Pavilion Phoenix show, 8/4/96… Bruce was on the Grand Piano - played a killer instrumental Terrapin Station.. Los Lobos rocked it!
Thanks for sharing this. I’m assuming this was a ppv or closed-circuit deal only on the West Coast? I don’t remember ever seeing much pro-shot Furthur Fest stuff! So many Furthur shows all over the Midwest tho, after Jerry’s passing, so much fun!

Everyday. It’s like an open wound that will never get 100 percent healed.
Los lobos was the dark horse stunner of the line up that further summer
