i went through a time of rest recently, and i had another time of rest about a year and a half ago. it seems so "natural" to fight at the beginning, but what is actually natural is leaning into that time of rest. thanks for sharing your life with us
hey jenny, i struggled with not being able to fall asleep on and off for years. even had rules about my bed (no phone, no computer). since living alone i've gotten more extreme and don't ever bring electronics into my bedroom and really just use my bed for sleep, sex, and reading before bed. now i have no issues falling asleep. might be worth a try !
I love taking walks everyday, i have done this since i was young and it really feels nice for the mind and body, i do this in the winter also, ill get bundled up and go, we have 6 month long winters and getting out in the fresh air is a must for me and my mental health, i have a regular workout schedule plus my walk everyday, it feels good to have a routine. I love listening to the sounds and the birds, trying to be mindful on my walks helps my anxiety too; ) and some days i just want to have my earbuds in. I highly recommend taking a walk: ) Sending love- great video Jenny; )
implementing a pre-bedtime routine has been so helpful to me being able to sleep!! switching to dim lighting throughout my apartment a couple hours before bed, doing my skincare way ahead of time so it doesn't feel like a chore, big cups of chamomile tea, consistent sleep/rise times, and having a hard cutoff for any screens has been so helpful. Even investing in nicer sheets and extra pillows has helped so much!!
I always find it interesting how much my self-esteem correlates to the self-discipline I have...especially in keeping up those daily good habits and really being present while reteaching or learning new things I need to carry with me for life...it makes me trust myself and sense of direction more. SICK confidence booster. You got this !!
Excited for the newness you have in store! I love hibernating in order to recharge and be your best self for when you need the foundation to lean on. As someone with multiple chronic illnesses, I don’t have much of a choice with my intense healing regimen. Truly long term hermit life haha. You seem really happy and fulfilled though, taking care of yourself is always productive. :)
