I am glad to see someone who also like the blue dial one because that's what i am trying to get very soon, i have nothing against the black dial but it's the most common and bland color combo for a watch and in order to have that kind of blue shade and black with lime green detail is to buy a more than 1000$ like the Seiko Prospex SPB187J1. This San Martin watch is a pure steal for the price, a pure gem
Thanks for the great review. Congrats on having the watch sent to you. For me (again for me) I feel homaging a vintage watch is fair game. This watch would be perfect if it had female end links. I have Seestern’s version (silver dial with black bezel) on a FKM Tropic, and it’s one of my favorite watches. Looking forward to the review of the other SM Watch they sent you.
this video sold me on the enamel dial instead of the sunburst grey, I love how the applied indices reflect off of the dial. I want the green but I also love blue I just have a few blue watches already.
Morning James, I bought the grey version last summer and it’s a fantastic watch for the money. I too bought it because I agree with what you were saying about the price of the seiko that it is homaging. Seiko is a little over priced so this watch scratches that itch. Merry Christmas to you and your family
Great review that made me pull the trigger to get my first San Martin and the 3rd 62mas homage that I will have (waiting for the watch now). Have the Heimdallr frost that is 41mm, a bit too big and the Cadisen, although the size is okay, the QC is mediocre at best (poorly aligned indices and bezel with back play)
I bet James you would of picked the grey dial from this amazing little watch !? It would be my pick too , cheers for the review I'll be ordering mine soon..merry Xmas to you and your family.
I have a SM subby homage, great quality watches for a very good price, and as for the NH35 movement, it's a workhorse, solid and excellent reliability.
Nice watch. A color matched date wheel would be the only improvement for me, but not a deal breaker. Regards and Merry Christmas to you and al subscribers.
I picked up the 37mm in grey/black on a rubber strap, in the 11/11 sale. I chose it over the Seestern version for 2 reasons. With the PT5000 movement, the SM was a good deal thinner & it was only £25-30 more, pre- import/ customs tax. I paid £160, no added tax, delivered. Also numerous reviews stating QC issues with the Seestern. Sadly, the PT5000 was faulty & completely stopped working after around 7-8 hours. Returned the following day, with refund received a few days later. This was my second AliExpress watch purchase & I have to say it has put me off buying any more Chinese watches online.
That’s very disappointing to hear. I have been lucky and had no movement issues. But I am leaning more towards the Seiko powered watches now. I feel confident that that movement will work every time.
It is a nice watch, but I prefer Seiko's later case styles. I thought it looked like the lume on the hands was white and on the indices was greenish. I take it you plan to sell it on to fund further watch purchases 👍
Thats one pretty watch. I think its thr enamel dial and bezel thst sold me. Also the blue dial contrasting with the black bezel, but bot too much also helps. So temped, but i need another diver like I need a hole in my head...
Thanks for WATCHing
I got one in blue during the 11-11 sale, no regrets at all, one of the best value for money out there and a absolute beauty.
It is really nice. I can see why it has been so popular
Love this watch with the blue matching strap. A real beauty
Now that would look good

It is a brilliant watch

I’m really impressed by this style.

Merry Christmas to you as well.

I just got the equivalent Cronos with the NH35. It is really nice. But I think the SM may have been a better option.
Nice watch. A color matched date wheel would be the only improvement for me, but not a deal breaker. Regards and Merry Christmas to you and al subscribers.
I had the same thought.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Awesome watch. Looks great on that rubber strap
I was thinking a blue sailcloth.
I have one but San Martin is written on the dial and not the logo. Is that original too? Did SanMartin made some like that?
There have been a few generations of this watch.
They tend to create newer versions and changing their logo is one thing they often do.
I think you influenced me with your plan for a desk clock, because I ended up buying a Waltham CDIA just for that purpose too
Hahahahaha. That’s fantastic.

Iam building a 62mas homage at the moment. Waiting for some parts.
It is a great project idea. Lots of parts to choose from.

That is the plan. I really like this one but it will be moved along to help fund the next purchase.
The bracelet has pin and collar not screw links
Thank you. Yes it does. I think I just assumed it was a screw pin as all other SM I have had a screw pins.

I’ve had the same thought about divers. There is a couple I want but really don’t need any more.
This one doesn’t have screw links mate. Push pins. Unless you got a one off….
Ah yes. You are right. I think I may have just assumed it was screw pins.
Thanks for letting me know.
@@WATCHingJames 👌
They really really need to work on that unsightly logo. That’s always been the deal breaker for me
I find it works well on some watches but not as well on some others.
Doesn't bother me at all.
$335AUD? You can pick these up $250 landed all day long with any minor, major sale.
That would be even better. I can’t find it at that price. But sometimes AliExpress is like that when searching for specific watches.
@@WATCHingJames Sanmartin Store $81 AUD coupon with $297 spend. $255 landed in oz. Right now!!

Nice
It is a great looking watch
