I am an atheist (who attends Buddhist temple every week), but this video was very moving for me. We live in a very cynical society that mistakes world-weariness for wisdom. I love Christ and God as ideas, and I loved how clearly the speaker contrasted the values of love/mercy, and justice. We live in a world that is obsessed with attributing blame when I have never met a single human being that is beyond it. There is so much wisdom and beauty in religious teachings, I think they contain the very best of humanity, but I cannot bring myself to believe in their literal truth. In any case, I have respect for anyone who is trying to bring people to a place of love in this sometimes hopeless seeming world.

Tyler, go see a Divine Liturgy and it will change you as it has me over past 13 years. Incredibly beautiful. When one understands the reason why Christ came back it’ll makes sense and you’ll know that God is indeed love. Orthodoxy is the faith of Christ. God bless you and yours!
@@kthomas3280 Thank you very much, I will. I would love to experience anything else others consider sacred. My first contact with the orthodox religion was in The Brothers Karamazov which is my favorite book. Zosima and Alyosha are both examples for us all to live up to. If I go I hope the elders are open to conversations questioning the nature of the religion and validity of the texts, as long as it is done so from a place of curiosity and truth-seeking and not malice. I took a philosophy class recently which changed my views on God. Many of the best thinkers were deeply religious, and their conception of God was not some bearded guy in the clouds, but a more abstract ideal from which all that is best in us strives towards. Specifically I liked Spinoza's pantheism: That God is what is beautiful in all things, and if we worship that we will experience the divine.
@@tyleryoast8299 yeah in christianity God is spaceless, timeless, goodness, truth and beauty but also a person at the same time - the fact that he is a person is why the religion should be about loving God rather than just learning about him or obsessing over rules and condemning others (ideally). Because Spinoza’s God is not also a person you miss out on that concept of communion with God, but he is right on many things about God at the same time. I’m praying God blesses your visit to Divine Liturgy!
The same teaching is proclaimed/explained in the Bhagavad Gita 'as it is'. .....but.....on the other hand, it is almost imperative that one live in a 'mode of goodness' to devote oneself in the seeking of spiritual relationship with God. Living in a 'mode of goodness' with recommended spiritual practices, such as reciting the Jesus Prayer on beads is part of purifying the heart to transcend the 'modes of goodness' and step into the personal relationship with God. Fr. Theodore from Georgia....Amen
I'm not orthodox but I agree with Fr. Theodore. God is love! He who is so selfish that he rather sacrifice others well-being than have a single moment of others successfully denying his will, he is one who is aiming straight at the pit. Even he can be saved if he repents, so great is God's mercy. He who acts selfish only in most acute desperation is next to blameless, his wounds are cut deep in on our Lord. He is getting close to heaven. Remember this if you are suffering! Jesus loves you!!! God is the Eternal Father! The evil one is the father of time. That's why coming to a state of unconditional love is unfortunately a process. God has allowed this, yes he did not take back the gift of free will he gave to his angel, because goodness wins in the end. Goodness is eternity, we all know this in our hearts, Jesus defeated the devil! Rejoice!
this Video sticks in my mind since yesterday, this means that only christians under themselves could live in such a way together, but as soon as non christian enter such society, justice would be the only way which would end the society in a way. So a pure christian society seperated/holy should be the aim, as a light for everyone else, but mixed with others its deluted and not possible.
Many will follow religions but they will be surprised when they face God then they will know all He wanted was a relationship. And to have this relationship we need to put our faith in God's grace.
Just like biblical and historical evidence proves that jesus and his apostles were vegatarians biblical and historical evidence also proves that the trinity, atonement, original sin and hell are very late misinterpretations and are not supported by the early creed hence its not a part of Christianity I pray that Allah swt revives Christianity both inside and out preserves and protects it and makes its massage be witnessed by all people but at the right moment, place and time The secred text of the Bible says ye shall know them by their fruits So too that I say to my christian brothers and sisters be fruitful and multiply Best regards from a Muslim ( line of ismail )
@@theguyver4934 My friend, thank you very much for your kind words, I myself study a lot of biblical and historical evidence. Everything stands or falls around the person of Jesus. His words are authentic. Jesus said that He is the only way to God (Allah). The question is whether a person believes in Jesus. The Bible says that whoever believes will be saved, whoever does not believe will be damned. The formula is very simple, but a lot depends on it!

@@tormmac Yeah that's true, and God will do whatever he wants anyway, so there's really no point in even asking since he knows what we want already. I've heard it explained to me that the purpose of prayer is to have a relationship with God.
IDK why he said protestants don't think this way. I born raised, and have given sermons as a solo scriptura Christian and for the most part have viewed Christianity this exact way. Beautiful video though and this is a message Christians can never be reminded of too much
I think that many denominations in protestantism have fallen in this error of legalism, however, we actually know by the testimony of the Holy Scriptures that men are saved by the grace of God alone but they need to participate in their sanctification by the power of the Hole Spirit. I'm Christian baptist, God bless you brothers.
I grew up inside catholic church but even i dont remember thinking this way of reward and punishment. Certainly we deserved punished and he gives us What we ask for withought begging. Amen
I respect your words so much they are true. But as a protestant that is the same way I see the Gospel. I don’t know how do protestants rely on good works like Catholicism.
Christianity is not a religion is about God our Father, The Creator and our Jesus Christ The Lamb of God, our Savior our Messiah our One and Only. God bless all in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit Amen ✝️
God is just. This is literally what the Bible says: “God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood-to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished- he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus” - Romans 3:25-26 God is just my friends. The cross demonstrates both God’s justice and God’s love. I think what this man meant to say is that God is not fair. If God was fair, we would all be in hell. But it was not fair that He should sacrifice His Righteous Son on a cross for our unrighteousness. But in doing so, God shows us that sin is fully worthy of condemnation and deserves justice. But also that God loves us and wants to give us a way to come back into right relationship with him. I’m sorry to contradict your priest. But what he is saying is really not right. God is just. The Bible is very clear about that. And ultimately I have to obey the Bible, even if it contradicts a priest. But I think I understand what your priest was trying to say. FYI, this video made me far less likely to convert to Orthodoxy. If this is what your church believes, you need to study the Bible more carefully.
This person is exactly right........selfishness whether material or spiritual exists and Legalism very much does exist throughout the body of Christ (which is people who have the Holy Spirit.)
Excuse me, I have been in protestant churches my whole church life, some 50 years & except for a few fringe heretic preachers, I have never heard preached that a believer deserves or earns anything from God. Salvation is a gift of grace that God chooses to grant to those who have faith in His Son Jesus & His sacrifice on the Cross. None of us deserve nor earn this, not one. However, once saved it is incumbent upon us to keep his commands as our due service that we owe to Him and even though we often fail here as well, He still extends his grace to the repentant. We are forever in His debt & God owes us nothing at all ever. I'm only 40 seconds in but I'm not listening to any more lies about other Christians.
What language is he speaking? I really needed to see this video because I know that I have a wrong attitude in spiritual life. But it's difficult to put your own needs aside and just love God for no other reason.
The only quibble I have is that what he is calling "religion" is properly labeled as "legalism." Spirituality is what you believe, religion is what you do about it. We do a lot about what we believe as Orthodox. That's our religion. It's what we do and why that is different. Aside from this (and perhaps I am hair splitting), I agree wholeheartedly with the good Father.
This man speaks very well, but I don't understand why he felt the need to throw Catholics and Protestants "under the bus", especially since he later admits that we can find this type of self-centered legalism amongst the Orthodox as well. There are plenty of Catholics and Protestants who love God, who purely and simply love God. And then there are others who are self-centered and legalistic. And there are plenty of Orthodox who also love God, who purely and simply love God. And then there are also others who are self-centered and legalistic. Why then make it seems as though when Catholics and Protestants are self-centered and legalistic it is a reflection of "Catholicism" and "Protestantism", but when Orthodox are self-centered and legalistic, it's just an unfortunate failing and misunderstanding of those particular individuals but not a reflection of "Orthodoxy"? It seems as though a double standard is being applied here. It's not enough for him to say that Christianity is different than all other religions, but he must also put down other Christians whose Church he believes to be in some degree of error. This is the one extremely strange thing I find in many (not necessarily all) Orthodox Christians - a huge emphasis on humility, but a seeming inability to restrain themselves when it comes to Christians whom they consider "heterodox". And it's not that I don't understand their position and that they are sincerely convinced that they are correct in their belief about these other Christians, but rather the seeming need to almost always bring it up at every single opportunity. I know many will read this and vehemently disagree, I hope they can do so with charity.
@@GigiGhiba-19 but the man in the video wasn't talking about any heresy, nor did I speak of heresy. So, with all due respect, your comment about "pampering heresy" is rather irrelevant.
so deep, great but sadly to short, the solution part is missing, thanks for it. Problem is how to raise children without the punishment and sugar technique, if you do it like christ they go crazy and do what they want, so if we apply this to adult mental children isnt the best way too for certain people to use it?
I'm a protestant and am considering orthodoxy. One of the things holding me back is that I worry that orthodoxy focuses too much on legalism rather than loving Christ and your fellow man. If anyone is orthodox, could they confirm whether the sentiment of that pastor is common in orthodoxy, or is it kind of rare?
It's common❤ ,,If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing." If you don't get to know God and come to love Him, everything is in vain. The Path and Goal is Christ Himself.
As a protestant, I would say it's common in protestantism too though. And protestantism doesn't have legalism dangers (unless you find a legalistic church).
This question is from me, a fellow Orthodox brother: We know that baptism is necessary to enter the kingdom of heaven, both literally and figuratively but that thief who was first to be promised heaven, wasn't baptized with water, yet in Acts we see Paul and Philip baptizing people, how do we explain this, do you think people who are not baptized can still be saved after death?
@@fronk1804 You cannot be saved by Jesus if you don't repent or be baptized, it's as simple as that, because Christ wants you to do both, he says that in Gospels
@@MariaKappatou Interesting perspective, but Orthodox priests don't even pray for those dead, who weren't baptized, so it's a fact church position doesn't agree with you, but then again, Orthodox church has been known to be stubborn in many things, like praying for those who weren't baptized and ones who did suicide too.
Legalism can be a problem in any Christian's life. Protestants teach the doctrine of divine grace: that we are saved by Christ's sakvific work on the Cross so long as we have a genuine love and saving faith in Him that bears fruit (good works). They teach that It is, however, not our works (which are nere evidence of love and faith) that save us, but His grace. In my opinion, the Protestant doctrine of divine grace and a saving faith are correct from an Orthodox perspective also
There are Oriental Churches in communion with Rome, like Maronite, Syriac, Armenian, Syro-Malabar in India, even Greek Catholic. Unfortunately, the Eastern Orthodox Church (Greek, Russian etc.) does not have Eucharistic communion with the Catholic Church.
@@oteldersthank you for getting back to me. This is nice to hear. I hope one day that the oriental orthodox , eastern orthodox and Roman Catholic church will come back as one once again . I have been to the Ethiopian and Coptic church , beautiful.
This is just the word religion used in another way ... i do agree with the video
Рік тому
Basicaly orthodoxy aknowledge that man as long as he is alive embedded into meat and bones he will sin and interesting is the fact that it is aknowledged, it is OK, it happens BUT this is exactly like in the case of a familly, the parents see their teenage child doing some bad stuff, they condemn what he or she does but it's still their child. Thats why I personally like this religion, because it's everything about having common sense and knowing that sooner or later you will have wise up and ask forgivness.
He never gets to the real issue , namely , "You are saved by Grace through Faith !" And that is what makes you LOVE THE ONE WHO DIED FOR YOUR SINS , YESHUA , THE MESSIAH.
@Gigi Ghiba From an Orthodox perspective I can see how that makes sense. As someone who has no association with Orthodoxy, I would say that bible readers do try to use the context of the passages and history to read as honestly as we can.
Sounds like protestantism when one says Christianity is not a religion. The etymology of the word religion is "to bind." We are bound to God through the new and eternal covenant. A "covenant" is binding. He likens "religion" to the word "legalism." Without "legalism" we wouldn't have councils that direct the church. It would be a free for all like protestantism. I agree with some of his points, but not all. God gave us all different gifts. Some are to be like the scribes. The scribes weren't sinful for being scribes. They were sinful because they were hypocrites. Luke 12:48 To whom much has been given much more will be demanded. James 3:1 Not many of you will be teachers. We who teach will be judged stricter.
@@kakhag I understand that he is not speaking on behalf of the Orthodox church, but his words are the reason a lot of protestants are in the comment section agreeing. A lot of protestants, especially the evangelicals, think that "it's not about religion it's about Jesus." Then they proceed to throw the traditions that our apostolic fathers have handed down to us. I'm not Orthodox either. I am a catholic of the latin rite.
@@johnsix.51-69 It's easy to lose the message if you focus on every word because in subtitles the translation is not exact, he speaks casual Georgian here (because it's an interview) which is very difficult to translate word to word in English. This speech is not about leniency or the Orthodox approach to legalism. He doesn't mention covenant in his entire speech, and he states the importance of legalism but also doesn't equate religion to legalism, quite the opposite, he criticies those who identify religion with legalism only and fail to see beyond. He claims that justice is the fundament of legalism, and our relationship with Christ is not bound by that. Which is why he proceeds with remarks about justice. Also, he claims that Judaism and Islam are motivated by the fundaments of legalim, and Catholicism and Protestantism "TO SOME DEGREE". This is simply because of their relationship with holy scriptures, and the Orthodox relationship specifically with psalms, he also mentions he doesn't have time to get into details and continues to answer the question asked. It's the general Orthodox belief which you will hear from every priest (e.g. that Protestants are laxist). He does not say that Catholics and Protestants don't see beyond legalism, it'd be strange, that's not the message here at all, if anything Orthodox are objectively more focused on legalism, that's a widely accepted opinion. He understands the value of legalism fully and speaks of what transcends it, and why the legalism is important in the first place, which is why he was explaining the conflict between motivations and byproduct. Uniqueness of Orthodoxy here is not in regards to legalism but our understanding of struggle and justice.
Ooooh, then I have a question hear. I have recently started to take Galatians 5 very seriously. I have tried to cut of works of the flesh out my life. I know salvation is only through faith in Jesus, but doesn't scripture say "faith without works is dead" and "I will spit them out" when speaking on lukewarm christians ? Then how is it possible not to see responsibility in how we follow "the narrow path" ?
the works are not bad. they must be done but out of love for God and the neighbor. how will you turn the other cheek if your heart does not try to love and forgive? in this struggle of the soul to fulfill the commandments out of love, the soul knows the Lord by grace. I hope I answered your question, if not, please tell me.
The point of Christianity is for us to get to the point where we love God for His sake and His sake alone...with no attachment whatsoever to any material or spiritual gifts we seek from Him. If you notice, the priest mentioned how this is hard to achieve but this is the point of a True Christian walk:- charity toward God for His sake alone! Everything else, is a byproduct of truly worshipping Him out of Pure Love. That means we strive to get to the point where we don't seek anything from Him but simply worshipping Him out of that Pure Love....He gives us gifts or grants us Graces or not, we don't even bat an eyelid, because those gifts and Graces are completely disconnected from the "why" of our worship. Again, very hard to achieve this level of spirituality. Hopefully I make sense.
'faith without works' means intellectual understanding of the teachings while continuing to live in flesh. As for 'trying to cut off the works of flesh'- this is a misunderstanding by following an impossible task- that of fighting the mind [the flesh itself is innocent, as the flesh cannot do anything without the mind]. Understand that the mind is there to serve the body- find food, water, shelter,... the necessities of life. Indulging in the unnecessary, abusing thinking by having opinions, judging, speculating or fantasizing is what brings suffering. If you know that the body-mind is God's creation and that the mind's only purpose is to maintain that creation, then you will not indulge in selfish desires and fears. It is enough to stay anchored in the spirit and the body-mind will take care of itself. The one who keeps his mind in God cannot do the works of the world while that who keeps his mind in the world cannot do God's will even if God's name is on his lips. This is the work laid out for you- keep your mind in God [it is called watchfulness], and never mind the body- it is God's creation anyway, not yours.
If he studied anything about Judaism, he’d know right off the bat that the purpose of the commandments have nothing to do with getting a reward but to be a servant to God. Any reward is secondary.
God is Just though; the scripture says so. Otherwise Christ would not have been needed as a sacrifice, or the sacrifice would not have been enough. This is an example of Men going beyond (in their minds) the Word of God.
this valid distinction has been made by many, not just by Easern orthodox. andwhat I have seen time andtime again is that those who make this distinction, even myself, ARE THE MOST RELIGIOUS, in this selfsame sense, OF ALL to claim that a church has this right is simply untrue. religiosity is how the carnal mind responds to the gospel, turning it all into rules for this is all Man has this is got right by those very few who have a living relationship with God in Christ. and i did NOT get this rigt, insofar as i havev, by avoiding the issue but by repenting of it because being carnal in mind through being carnal in fruit, and serious about my faith i could not avoid beingreligious and indeed most who say the do do not just as most who say they are born again ARE not the most common trick played by the relgious to hide their own religiosity is to call their legalism discipline, or obedience, or principle or faith in action, or sacred tradition, or even, as he dos here, a way of life so NO i am not impressed there is nothing new unser th sun and nothing new here
2:08 God is both just and love. Grace and truth. If God were not just, Jesus would not have died and risen. Nearly everything else he said is entirely the same as the real protestant churches, not counting prosperity gospel and other false teachings.
@@jaredg5663 Compared to other denominations, the role of commandments is preserved in Orthodox christianity the most. Even more than Judaism. But this does not mean that a Christian should hope for his good works. As apostle Paul says: no man can be justified by works. but by faith in Jesus Christ. But this does not mean the Baptist pathos (If I remember correctly). which only focus on faith of Christ and reject the commandments. Apostle Jakob says : The faith without works is dead. We should consider these theories in a complex way
@@kakhag Well the Messiah brought in the New Exodus, nullifying the works of the law, priesthood, temple sacrifices etc. He tabernacled with us, suffered and died, rose again, purifying the temple of his body representing all human flesh, allowing the Spirit of God to indwell us. So faith in that work applies salvation to the individual hypostasis allowing good works to function in a divine way flowing out of our temple which is where the Holy Spirit dwells. So saying faith is dead without works is uncontroversial, but the cause of the new life of the Spirit is by faith in the Son, allowing the work of the Spirit to flow out.

Very wise words. God bless you all!

O Lord, thank you for this message.

So a pure christian society seperated/holy should be the aim, as a light for everyone else, but mixed with others its deluted and not possible.
great video, thank you so much
Many will follow religions but they will be surprised when they face God then they will know all He wanted was a relationship. And to have this relationship we need to put our faith in God's grace.
As a Reformed Protestant, I agree with him. We teach the same thing.
Just like biblical and historical evidence proves that jesus and his apostles were vegatarians biblical and historical evidence also proves that the trinity, atonement, original sin and hell are very late misinterpretations and are not supported by the early creed hence its not a part of Christianity I pray that Allah swt revives Christianity both inside and out preserves and protects it and makes its massage be witnessed by all people but at the right moment, place and time

My friend, thank you very much for your kind words, I myself study a lot of biblical and historical evidence.
Thank you father. very helpful knowledge. I hope to see and learn more. earlier I was pray for guidance to get closer and how to be safe from god and your video is the first thing that hit my eyes when I click UA-cam home page. again thank you

Raised Protestant when it was explained to me how prayer worked they said "Ask god for what you want in prayer and he will answer." I replied even then when I was young "Why would I be asking GOD for anything, imagine the entitlement and ingratitude" I am extremely interested in the Orthodox perspective thank you Father.

I think that many denominations in protestantism have fallen in this error of legalism, however, we actually know by the testimony of the Holy Scriptures that men are saved by the grace of God alone but they need to participate in their sanctification by the power of the Hole Spirit. Jesus loves you/me. So... love Jesus.
God is just. This is literally what the Bible says:
“God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood-to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished- he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus” - Romans 3:25-26
God is just my friends.
Just the truth.
This person is exactly right........selfishness whether material or spiritual exists and Legalism very much does exist throughout the body of Christ (which is people who have the Holy Spirit.)
Jesus☝☝☝☝
Georgian language
@@ninopotskhveria4781 Thanks! Georgian sounds beautiful!
Religion is a Latin word which not exist in Orthodoxy. Christianity is about Faith through Love and Trust.
Greeks are very proud people :)
He is geeorgien
Thank you for your honest message!
This is just the NT Gospel and Luther would agree.
It's common❤
,,If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing."
If you don't get to know God and come to love Him, everything is in vain.
God is almighty!!! It’s up to him to decide who and how will be saved!! But we have to keep trying to obey his laws and commandments!!! God bless!!!
Christ saves people.
Not repentance or baptism
Good people will be saved. It's different from being a saint and see the face of God in Paradise...

Question , can a catholic receive the eucharist in the oriental orthodox church
There are Oriental Churches in communion with Rome, like Maronite, Syriac, Armenian, Syro-Malabar in India, even Greek Catholic. Unfortunately, the Eastern Orthodox Church (Greek, Russian etc.) does not have Eucharistic communion with the Catholic Church.
@@oteldersthank you for getting back to me. This is nice to hear. I hope one day that the oriental orthodox , eastern orthodox and Roman Catholic church will come back as one once again . I have been to the Ethiopian and Coptic church , beautiful.
True, allthough, the word 'religion' is a wierd one... because in truth there is no such thing as an atheist.
This is just the word religion used in another way ... i do agree with the video
I love how this guy says the Truth when he says that the the righteous Law abiding people of GOD killed Jesus like we are taught to in the Bible!!!
@@GigiGhiba-19 They did the correct thing!!!
I don't quite understand what exactly he is saying is unique about Orthodoxy.
He never gets to the real issue , namely , "You are saved by Grace through Faith !" And that is what makes you LOVE THE ONE WHO DIED FOR YOUR SINS , YESHUA , THE MESSIAH.
Job loved God before he knew that God would die for him.
@Gigi Ghiba that's not heresy that's scripture, verbatim
@Gigi Ghiba From an Orthodox perspective I can see how that makes sense. As someone who has no association with Orthodoxy, I would say that bible readers do try to use the context of the passages and history to read as honestly as we can.
@Gigi Ghiba I do agree that we must repent and some in that day will say Lord Lord and he will say I never knew you.
Its not officially speech. Dont be so strictly. F. Teodore wanted to underline that Christ and Christianity is More than other ones.
@@johnsix.51-69 So he claims this is uniquely Orthodoxy, but it's not even Orthodoxy at all, but protestantism? No wonder I think it's brilliant lol

This one is good too...ua-cam.com/video/IlYY1JQXF6I/v-deo.html
If he studied anything about Judaism, he’d know right off the bat that the purpose of the commandments have nothing to do with getting a reward but to be a servant to God. Any reward is secondary.
every prayer it`s kind of ego related prayer. what is the right perspective in the spiritual life?
Amen!!! Selah!!!
God is Just though; the scripture says so.
Otherwise Christ would not have been needed as a sacrifice, or the sacrifice would not have been enough.
This is an example of Men going beyond (in their minds) the Word of God.
this valid distinction has been made by many, not just by Easern orthodox.
andwhat I have seen time andtime again is that those who make this distinction, even myself, ARE THE MOST RELIGIOUS, in this selfsame sense, OF ALL
to claim that a church has this right is simply untrue. religiosity is how the carnal mind responds to the gospel, turning it all into rules
for this is all Man has
this is got right by those very few who have a living relationship with God in Christ. and i did NOT get this rigt, insofar as i havev, by avoiding the issue but by repenting of it because being carnal in mind through being carnal in fruit, and serious about my faith i could not avoid beingreligious
and indeed most who say the do do not just as most who say they are born again ARE not
the most common trick played by the relgious to hide their own religiosity is to call their legalism discipline, or obedience, or principle or faith in action, or sacred tradition, or even, as he dos here, a way of life
so NO i am not impressed
there is nothing new unser th sun and nothing new here
If God is not just, how does he understand Paul when Paul in Romans says, "So as to be just and the justifier those who have faith"?
2:08 God is both just and love. Grace and truth. If God were not just, Jesus would not have died and risen. Nearly everything else he said is entirely the same as the real protestant churches, not counting prosperity gospel and other false teachings.
My mother who is a charasmatic christian said that the orthodox church is very religious and dead.. But I have my doubts about what she says
An Orthodox saying no rules to gain Gods favor? Is that like faith in Christ alone for salvation
No because you're just looking for salvation then, like the example he gave of just going to Church to find peace.
It doesnt mean not following rules. It means "Dont get hopes to rules." Hopes must be to "Faith of Jesus Christ"
@@kakhag I don't understand what you mean
