_This_ is how you need to vote in November:
We must fully resist and _always vote_ against (& less authoritarian than) both the Republican *and* Democratic Parties- including all of the squad, Bernie Sanders, Edward Markey, the justice democrats, & all other democrats. (Despite Chomsky’s grave mistake of endorsing any Democrat, let alone many)
For _all_ public positions. And this same strategy applies against the same one or more party-monopolies in _all_ countries worldwide.
Real progressives will never be Democratic Members or Democratic loyalists. You can always _write-in_ an anti-authoritarian person if no candidates for a position fit that bill.
This will continuously reduce the power of _all_ authoritarian parties in the party monopolies. Until our task is complete.
Repeat strategy for all new authoritarian parties that emerge.

I disagree, at least domestically. South African apparated was not ended through purely non-violence, British occupation of India was not ended through purely non-violent means, civil rights in the US were not achieved through purely non-violent means, workers rights and labor law in the US were not reached via pure non-violence, ending of slavery, etc. each of these movements had both non-violent and more radical groups aiding the cause. Sure the state can use more violence and has better tools, but they are not going to drive a tank onto a college campus and start blasting students or using fighter jets to drop bombs in New York. lol That's absurd and would instantly galvanize the majority of the population against the state.

You make a good point, MLK was non-violent, but the Black Panthers weren't. It kind of forced officials to deal with MLK, but the threat of violence from Black panthers may have caused the action. So, maybe a good dichotomy is called for.

My understanding is that they just portrayed arms to show that they will do self defense against those that violently encroach first
