I went to Norway last summer. It was a dream come true. It was the most beautiful country I’ve seen. The Fjords are truly worth every single praise of them. And in winter you have northern lights. You just have so much to offer!
3 years back on exactly this day we were in Tromsø. We travelled from Mumbai, India to Tromsø for our honeymoon and words can't even begin to describe how beautiful it is. The first time we went "chasing" the norther lights we got to see just a faint green light in the sky and honestly, I was a bit discouraged. But we decided to go again and I'm glad we did because what we saw that day was nothing short of magical. It was pitch dark where we went, couldn't even see the snow below our feet. We sat inside a lavvu which kept us warm and periodically checked outside but it was still dark. After a couple of minutes we went out once again and we started seeing a faint light in the sky, everyone rushed out and then in a matter of seconds the sky lit up. We could see the snow below us, the river (or some water body) next to us and everything was just amazing. Just when you think it couldn't get any better, the lights started "dancing". The colours changed and it covered pretty much the entire sky :'). I sincerely hope everyone manages to go and experience it because it was an absolute privilege to just stand there and look up! :)
I would love to go to Tromsø for my honeymoon but my future husband seems set on Hawaii or somewhere tropical. Hopefully I can talk him into at least taking a ski trip close by so we can go chase the lights! I’ve always wanted to see the lights and I want to share my dream with him. I feel like him being with me for the moment I’ve been waiting for all these years will make it even better! Also I’m glad you got to see the lights and God bless you :)!!

Travel to the Northern US states and spend some time there if you would like to see aurora borealis; like Michigan, Minnesota etc. Of course the farther North you go the more likely you will see them, so Canada or Alaska is good also! The main thing is, find a way you can spend some time, because there is no guarantee what day or night they will show up. For example, if someone can work from home and wishes to see northern lights, they might wish to live in one of the northernmost US states or Canadian provinces. Or perhaps you might wish to attend university in one of these places, or try finding a job in the north for a few years. You should be able to see the northern lights very many times if you are able to spend awhile living there.

While these people spent a huge amount of money and time and trouble and travel and froze their butts off to see this for a couple minutes, I got to watch it for basically free for half an hour, and stayed cozy warm the whole time. Back in 1983, I was flying from LA to Germany In mid-December on business. Free flight. Flight traveled all night. And I was lucky to have the furthest left-hand seat, next to window. In middle of night, as plane was probably over Greenland, I happened to glance out the window, and saw these lights. At first I couldn't comprehend what I was seeing, since I wasn't traveling to see these lights. The whole thing caught me off-guard. Then I realized what I was looking at. All the green swirling colors.....it was pretty amazing.

I cried watching this video. This has always been my dream and chasing lights is a wonderful people for people to experience this wonderful phenomenon. My only wish for before I die is to see the Northern Lights.
Runs through end of september till april, northern europe specially in lapland , north sweden and finland you get to see this beauty, there is some kind of saudade , pensive nostalgic melancholy ,which is happiness and sadness at the same time, there is something to it that cant be explained, its enjoying nature while listening to pink floyd classics , northern europe is beautiful specially when you get to see this extravagant showcase mothernature has to offer.. it is something beautiful cannot express it in words.
That sight made me cry like a child.. it's overwhelming.. it's overwhelming to realize how small we are in this universe, how tender is our arrogance in front of the the light it holds... And how dare are we to act like the masters, to exploit the nature, the sea, the sky , the soil... Ahh God this made a so humbled..😭😭🌌🌌❤️
I would be greatly grateful having the opportunity to just witness the millions of stardust and a phenomenon that happen only in a certain place even for just a minute
For someone who lives in this city, and has been to many of the places that were shown, and driven on all of these roads shown in the video i find it so interesting that so many people are fascinated by my country/city when i take it all for granted. I need to start appreciating Tromso/Norway more.

How can someone dislike this?! Amazing
Being a dreamer to experience such movement, I have tears in eyes . But al these peoples there have pass trough my time . Hope to success my dream.
I saw the Northern Lights in Iceland 🇮🇸 it was awe inspiring!
Nature's beauty....no matter how hard we try we can never match it!
I would be greatly grateful having the opportunity to just witness the millions of stardust and a phenomenon that happen only in a certain place even for just a minute
My mother is from Tromsø so we visit sometimes. Always loved seeing the Northern lights while there.
I wish I was born in Norway.
I pray to visit someday.
For someone who lives in this city, and has been to many of the places that were shown, and driven on all of these roads shown in the video i find it so interesting that so many people are fascinated by my country/city when i take it all for granted. I need to start appreciating Tromso/Norway more.
Oh my god this doesn't even look real, it feels like it's a CGI effect or something of sorts, I can only imagine what it is like watching it with your own eyes, beautiful
I would be crying while watching the Aurora. It’s really stunning and I’d love to visit one day!

Imagine bringing a guitar to play and sing with your friends while sitting near a campfire, while seeing this amazing phenomenon. INCREDIBLE!
I almost feel bad for telling you that when i lived on Senja, this was my "going home light" for a year. Its not always green. It is quite often pink/purple as well. But one thing i can tell you. It is ALWAYS beautiful.

In 1992 camped rough across the river, near a camp ground and football field. I waited for the NS Norsel and worked my way to Svalbard. Greeting from Australia.

Norway is heaven Norway the most beautiful country in the world 🥺🥺 I wish I could have born in the Norway 🇳🇴
Every country is blessed with at least one magnificent beauty
Been there in february, we've seen some 4 nights in a row. Magical ! And, no, it wasn't soooo cold (-10°C)
stéphane FRADET wow, that is amazing, we were there the past February and we only saw them one night only....if we understood they are to be chased, we would have rather spent all out time doing the chasing however I am glad that we had a chance to see them ☺️
@@boitumelom3596 More or less, it a matter of chance above all. 4 first days were sunny and clear sky, so it was esay to see them. We were in the house's garden with red wine and appetizers looking at them al night long :-) Last 3 days were very snowy/stormy and there were no chance to see anything in the peninsula... We have been lucky both of us, I'm glad you've been able to see this wonderful thing too !
5:23 "That's a Christmas gift" 😂
Wish I was there... Oh I will
My biggest dream is to live or a least visit once in my life north Norway (like Tromsø) and see this unbelievable phenomenon❤ love from Greece❤

Yeah I got caught off guard and started crying too 😭😭 the world is so beautiful
@@hamgil it so is!
Your crying because God is so amazing that he left a little bit of Eden (paradise) on earth even though we were too foolish to realize that our faith is sufficient enough for all things through Christ. YESHUA HAMASCHIACH
Nothing but a word 'beautiful'
I am from Saudi Arabia...and I would love to go to Tromso and see the Northern lights one day :)
I am from Brazil. 🇧🇷
I was born in Tromsø, been watching the Northern Lights all my life, and it never stops being amazing and awesome. It really is magical and some times almost frightening 😎👍
I wish everyone get to see the auroras!
@@UA-cam_Satan same love tromsø
@@UA-cam_Satan when is the best month to go there to see these amazing lights?
@@jeffrivera1358 I would say December, since it's the darkest month. The Sun doesn't rise until January 21st :)
And during summer there's zero chance because of the midnight sun, so there's that. I don't know which of the darker months have the most clear skies, maybe January or February. In the end, there's no guarantee anyway.
I often feel tired, stressed and low in the dark winter months, but then I see the northern lights and I feel blessed living in Tromsø. 💚
