In some European country, I forget the name unfortunately, they implemented a system where girls would get paid sick leave for having bad periods. There comes a point for a business where it's no longer good to keep you around for one thing of another. If you're annual period is so bad you can't move or do anything else, then it becomes a problem. Maybe not so much on lower end jobs, but on jobs that require you to do it and if you don't risks your life and the lives around you, it along with you becomes a liability. Another question I have is what are they supposed to do? You're in tremendous pain sure, but there is nothing anyone can do about it besides a few pain killers and it's not life threatening. You were in a class, the teacher and other students had other things to do. The only thing I see people really being able to do is treating you like a sick person, but that's only if they don't have other things to do. Would you rather have them ignore you? What are people supposed to do in that situation?

i would say he could have been sympathetic. He could have excused her from class for a little while. Even just saying, "I'm sorry you're in pain." would have been nice, I'm sure. A lot of times girls just need someone to care. Well, lemme rephrase. I've had cramps MAYBE once or twice, but even then they were very bearable. As long as I'm eating well, and drinking enough water, I just don't get cramps, and periods are simply a nuisance.

I don't really get cramps either. I get some minor ones usually every period, but they're all easily bearable without (I think) any expressions of pain or pain reliever. I do agree. The biggest worry about periods is bleeding through and having to change your pad/tampon/etc.

Yes, we do survive. But it IS extremely bad. Some days you simply lay there (wearing a heating pad and after taking advil of course), not being able to move, hoping you won't puke. It's a little more than an 'inconvenient pain'.

Hey now. Let's not become trolls. I personally see makeup as a chance for me to basically paint. My face is a blank canvas every single day and I love creating new looks. I can't afford actual paints and canvass so I work with what I have. Most days you won't even see me with it on though. As a parent to a toddler I can't always be bothered with makeup. My time belongs to my child. We all have our reasons. This just happens to be mine.

To sum it up, your uterus is literally killing itself and going through the first hormones that are a part of labor. It also sheds all the dead tissue, having you and your underwear covered in blood and other fluids. So pretty much it's like your vagina wanting a baby, not getting it, then shredding it into nothingness
You become anemic for a few days. So, your blood is low, which means you always feel like crap, and get cramps which make you incredibly grumpy. So, you're in a bad mood and take it out on others because that's what being grumpy is. Then, they just make fun of you and tease you for being this way. I understand sitting on it hurts a lot, but we have to tolerate a week of feeling like we are about to collapse and throw up at the same time. Not even getting into having to take care of yourself... Augh. It's awful.

And also, like a cat is trying to claw its way out of your uterus at the same time. Never call me "hormonal" I learned about periods in science highschool, not just in elementary once, in highschool in my first year science class. The one thing I learned is not to call a girl hormonal, especially when they're on their period. I found out why. I was on my period and I tend to get pretty angry, and I'm dealing with a bunch of hormones. I was talking to a guy student who didn't know not to call a girl "hormonal" he said to me when I got all angry about something he said, anyway, he said "Why are you acting so hormonal?" I snapped. Yeah, I get that feeling. I used to have light cramps at high school, but then over the years, it escalated. Now I feel like someone is kicking my stomach (and no, not like a baby, more like a karate guy!) So yep, if a girl feels bad with cramps, it might be far more painful than what a guy thinks. In some European country, I forget the name unfortunately, they implemented a system where girls would get paid sick leave for having bad periods.
There comes a point for a business where it's no longer good to keep you around for one thing of another. If you're annual period is so bad you can't move or do anything else, then it becomes a problem. Maybe not so much on lower end jobs, but on jobs that require you to do it and if you don't risks your life and the lives around you, it along with you becomes a liability.
Another question I have is what are they supposed to do? You're in tremendous pain sure, but there is nothing anyone can do about it besides a few pain killers and it's not life threatening. You were in a class, the teacher and other students had other things to do. The only thing I see people really being able to do is treating you like a sick person, but that's only if they don't have other things to do. Would you rather have them ignore you? What are people supposed to do in that situation?

i would say he could have been sympathetic. He could have excused her from class for a little while. Even just saying, "I'm sorry you're in pain." would have been nice, I'm sure. A lot of times girls just need someone to care. Not to necassarily do anything for them, but just to care. its like if you got stabbed and everyone around you just kept walking along and rolled their eyes at you telling you to suck it up. Its not a very kind thing to tell someone to "suck it up" when they're in pain.

Well, lemme rephrase. I've had cramps MAYBE once or twice, but even then they were very bearable. As long as I'm eating well, and drinking enough water, I just don't get cramps, and periods are simply a nuisance.

I don't really get cramps either. I get some minor ones usually every period, but they're all easily bearable without (I think) any expressions of pain or pain reliever. I do agree. The biggest worry about periods is bleeding through and having to change your pad/tampon/etc.

Hey now. Let's not become trolls. I personally see makeup as a chance for me to basically paint. My face is a blank canvas every single day and I love creating new looks. I can't afford actual paints and canvass so I work with what I have. Most days you won't even see me with it on though. As a parent to a toddler I can't always be bothered with makeup. Just as girls can call guys "dicks" and "douchebags", guys can have eligibility to call girl "bitches", and I don't understand why only guys aren't allowed to call girls that when girls call guys rude stuff all the time. I mean no offence to men or woman, but one time, my friend and her boyfriend were arguing, and I overheard them talking, and it went like this: "Well, you have NO idea what a period feels like and how much pain it is for us females!" and he swiftly replied with: "I sit on my ball-sack alot"
I laughed so hard I cried. What does that feel like?
To sum it up, your uterus is literally killing itself and going through the first hormones that are a part of labor. It also sheds all the dead tissue, having you and your underwear covered in blood and other fluids. So pretty much it's like your vagina wanting a baby, not getting it, then shredding it into nothingness
You become anemic for a few days. So, your blood is low, which means you always feel like crap, and get cramps which make you incredibly grumpy. So, you're in a bad mood and take it out on others because that's what being grumpy is. Then, they just make fun of you and tease you for being this way. I understand sitting on it hurts a lot, but we have to tolerate a week of feeling like we are about to collapse and throw up at the same time. Not even getting into having to take care of yourself... Augh. It's awful.
It's like a someone's launching 50 RPGs (rocket launchers) in your uterus at the same time, and it sometimes goes on for hours without the pain getting any better. And also, like a cat is trying to claw its way out of your uterus at the same time. Add constantly being warmer than usual, feeling like you're going to throw up, not sleeping well for several days in a row and everyone suddenly becoming huge assholes. That about sums it up. Writhing in pain and crying is not uncommon. Well, this is what its like for me anyway, I hope its better for others.

Never call me "hormonal" I learned about periods in science highschool, not just in elementary once, in highschool in my first year science class. The one thing I learned is not to call a girl hormonal, especially when they're on their period. I found out why. I was on my period and I tend to get pretty angry, and I'm dealing with a bunch of hormones. I was talking to a guy student who didn't know not to call a girl "hormonal" he said to me when I got all angry about something he said, anyway, he said "Why are you acting so hormonal?" I snapped. I may or may not have slapped him across the face as hard as I could.....I felt bad, cause I don't like to hurt people, but i'm like...passive yet, I tend to be very aggressive on my period, it's utterly confusing.

Yeah, I get that feeling. I used to have light cramps at high school, but then over the years, it escalated. Now I feel like someone is kicking my stomach (and no, not like a baby, more like a karate guy!) So yep, if a girl feels bad with cramps, it might be far more painful than what a guy thinks.

EclipseSeth thanks for the tip, I accidentally said this to a girl once and she freaked. in my defense, she complained about every little thing and she was exercising by choice right before, so I figured it was leg cramps she was talking about(also every girl I know has denied with a passion that periods are as painful as everyone thinks).
