So for the transfering some of what I have done is freehanding off of a sketch with a light sharpy and then using a darker one to refine the sketch. another method I have done is trace the drawing onto thin lined paper (lined is just the thinnest I have) and go with your sharpy again slowly, you can dot it so then you just connect the dots for it. I will use sharpy on the lined paper (choose a different color usually lighter to help distinguish what you've done) and that way you can see the design inverted!!! and transfer it inverted as well! ya just flip the paper over and call it good since sharpy seeps through.
I guess you could say the topic of printing is a....pressing issue?? 😂😂 Sorry lol this was a great video! I have been watching eraser stamp videos and I think I might do that as my winter project. (Every season I like to pick an art medium to study and try to broaden my horizons 😊)
I know when I did a linocut in class, I traced the design onto tracing paper with a mechanical pencil. Then, turned it onto the block and I think I rubbed the side of my pencil on the paper and the lines transferred on. Then, I went in with a sharpie and traced the lines so I could actually see them lolol. Not sure if this will help, but I like seeing really bold lines on there, since I'm pretty unsure of myself. 🤣❤️
i literally love the steven edition videos, you guys together are so vibey :D I’m starting my non-exam project for school next week and I’ve added lino-printing to my list of mediums to try :D ALSO i started bookbinding recently and when you mentioned it i did shocked pikachu face lmao. anyway this comment is getting long but this video is making me want to do a series of prints and then bind them into a zine type thing (feral artist noises)
AHHH THAT SOUNDS LIKE SO MUCH FUN making books and combining it with printmaking!! I definitely want to make more bookbinding content next year, it’s such an underrated art form !
Maybe this isn’t unique to my experience with lino-cut printing but I remember during my A-levels using water mixable oil paints to print with. Takes awhile to dry but you can get some pretty colour gradients!

I really love your account very much and I love all your videos and I love your drawing very much and I love drawing and it is also my hobby since I was a young but I left it and now I returned to drawing and painted a kind of not bad but I really try to see a lot of videos and develop it and I am very distracted
This video combines a lot of things I love. Printmaking is a medium I've grown to appreciate as I've grown as an artist; however, not only did I get inspired to plan out a print of my own, but as an artist with an artist partner as well, your stories as a couple gives me incredible comfort. I feel like im intruding, but knowing you're sharing it makes me feel a soft tenderness, that is present in your videos always, but amplified due to your affection for one another❤
Personally I never had that patience for print making. But i just love it when other people do it they always turn out sooooo beautiful. And I very much love how yours turned out Shay. This was a very fun and satisfying video to watch. I hope you have a great holiday and I cant wait for you next video.

Oil based inks are the way to go!! nauseousdog and I found out the hard way lol
