I got a jambalaya recipe from him that’s ruined restaurant jambalaya for my husband. And like a lot of his recipes there’s some give. I can add extra vegetables, make it spicier or less. Use different proteins. I’ve made it enough times to have it nearly memorized and don’t even measure the spices and more. I just know what it looks like

When i split it in half,and have enough for 2 and i use 1,how long after do i need to use the other half can it just be refigerated or made straoght away

7g of yeast is 2 and a half teaspoons of yeast... (uk supermarkets sell Allison's easy bake sachets).
I don't understand the term 'strong flour' is that close to self raising, or plain? What would happen if I used self raising instead?
I think strong flour doesn't rip as easily as regular, and its good for making a pizza crust as well as bread
strong flour is flour with a protein content above 12%.
Mr Oliver, I tuned in to have another look at your marble table top (quality btw) 🤣👍 and I ended up baking this bread (well just proving it now). I made the bread from your other video last year a few times excellent it was too, that was the video the marble table top was mentioned, now when I'm back in work I'm gonna get my kitchen kitted out with a bit of marble and all the proper cooking utensils, I've really got the cooking bug now, it all tastes some much better than the supermarket and cheaper as well.... Well done for making educational videos with a bit of a laugh going on as well... 10/10 ✅
It came out the oven humongous, artisan bread huge huge huge, the one in bread tin looks quality, had proper butter and raspberry jam on it, absolutely stuffed now... Cheers Jamie Oliver.. Pukka Bread... I'll never get bread from the supermarket again. ☺️

Every baker is different but I see few things that contradict what I learned from another famous bread baker. No warm water, cold, where is the salt?
He said you can add a pinch of salt if you want, like with the sugar.. I added half a teaspoon salt and sugar, apparently it gets the yeast going. I'll just eaten some of the bread and it was absolutely beautiful.
He said tepid water, lukewarm.

How match yeast ? I did not understand.
Yeast = 1.4% of Flour weight
One packet which is like 2.5 tsps
You can buy little packets of dry yeast in most supermarkets (including Aldi and Lidl) and they are about 7g in weight.
Wonder if he always uses his hands for food processing wearing that ring on his finger..

Sorry but I am American and you might as well be talking Greek I did not understand your measurements at all.
The rest of the world is still patiently waiting for you to adopt the metric system lol. You're one of 3 countries on the planet to not use it officially, the other two are Myanmar and Liberia... It really is great for baking though, much more precise AND straightforward 👍🏻 👋🇨🇦

In uk it's 7g in a sachet (Allison's yeast easy bake sachets) which is 2 and a half teaspoons of yeast..

Good thing you have the internet. :-) Almost 34 fl. oz(often 32 is used) per litre.

Most measuring jugs have both metric and imperial measurements
You aren't supposed to cut bread when t'swarm as it makes it go gummy.
"I can feel the yeast working. WHY ? Because it's warm"....in MY opinion, nah I think i's because you are literally working the dough and so creating heat by friction, not because the yeast is working

This man has no idea of how to bake a proper bread... Honestly, it's ok for children or absolute beginners.
I can tell you, with 10% more effort you will get a much tastier, softer and healthier bread...

Give your dough time to rest. The best over night in the fridge.
This will help to get rid of FODmaps and the bread is better for digestion.
Also the crust will be more crunchy...
Make a pre-dough. For incredible flavors and aroma.
Use more water in the dough for softer and more open crumb.
And never add flour in the process of kneading.
You have to knead till the water is absorbed by the gluten.
Or actually, kneading is not necessary. Just combine everything, let it rest and do some stretch and folds from time to time.
There are thousands of good videos on yt, explaining the process.
Even better, switch the yeast with sourdough if available...
