I remember the first time I saw the original tape driven Echoplex. It was in an armory in Florida hooked up to a Hamond B3 with a Leslie cab, to say it blew me away is an understatement.
Out of all the videos I’ve watched… I’m getting this pedal cause of THIS pedal! I had the el cap too and I loved it but it did way more than I needed it to do and I’m at the point where less knobs is more appealing to me.
Luscious, rich, intuitive to work and just the most perfect little box of tape echo (without tape) out there just now. WANT!
I’d love to hear it when combined with other effects like a fuzz face or overdrive pedal.

Ive always wanted to buy one of these but every time I went to buy it, I always got a different pedal of some kind. I might just have to break down and get one of these. I already have 3 other delays, but I need another.

2022 the EHX Ehoplex Delay cost $200.00 American dollars and well worth it simply incredible
I have tried everything. This is the best sounding “EP” style echo pedal. I have an El Cap. And it’s great but in no way does it do the EP thing. Want.

I like the longer delay settings, the short delay setting sounds digitally.
Sounds great, are you using this with the echoplex preamp or just the delay on its own?
It has the preamp in the circuit. You can buy the preamp separately for those that want the 'always on' sound, as with this pedal the preamp is engaged engaged only when the delay is on

David Humphries I inquired about this on a guitar forum and was told that you needed to buy both separately if you wanted the preamp as well.
@@JohnW335andTele . Yep I looked into this and you are correct there is no preamp in this pedal. Even when it is turned on. I'm kind of happy about that because when I get a tone I like I don't want something changing my tone the way the preamp does. Unless I want it to. I owned 2 of these in the past and regret selling them. I might consider getting the extra preamp pedal when I purchase one again

Sounds reasonably good
compared to what? the original tape delay? $200 pedal, sounds worth it to me, seems that this pedal will do more than the average delay

If you notice, he's playing with a very thick plectrum.
Probably because he gets a particular sound he wants that way. Just a guess knowing how to play guitar and all.

The pedal sounds good. Tones sound good. At the end he turns the sustain up...GrrffhhlattaBlthllff..delay, delay delay...blah blah blah... Why would anyone do that? Sucked.
