The Game Haloti Ngata BROKE Ben Roethlisberger's Nose | A 2010 Classic

A 2010 matchup with the division on the line! After a rough & slow first half, the second one would be an absolute slugfest between two heavyweight teams. Suggs, Lewis & Reed wouldn't be good enough to stop a clutch Roethlisberger late in this one. Polamalu had one of the most beautiful strip sacks I had ever seen. With time dwindling, Troy jumps off the line & gives Elite QB (hehe) Joe Flacco a blow to the arm, setting up the final score of this classic!

Great game! Really ticked me off that year! Harrison was getting fined every week for making hard tackles, but then Big Ben gets smacked in the face, breaks nose and they don't even get a flag!! Thanks for the Video!
Thank you for watching! 🖤💛
Ben is a legend in taking hits and shaking them off, gonna miss watching him play
That throwaway was amazing. To fight off Suggs and get outside the pocket...
And to not lose control of the ball.
Man, he did all that and then the commentator reminded me that this is still the same game where he broke his nose! 😂 Like damn that was a great play on its own but add in the fact that he probably just had his nose realigned on the sidelines a couple quarters ago…holy shit lol
Damn I love the Steelers! I still get goosebumps watching these old videos!
The bloody nose comeback and the beginning of Suisham's career with us. Great memories.
Edit: AND rookie Sanders. wow
These games were brutal!
I remember that game was cold and a nail biter. I smiled all week.
I flew out of my recliner when Troy made his move! The whole street heard me Celebrating! Big Ben was so TOUGH that game!
I did too. But knew we needed a TD. I was getting really nervous when 3rd down came and then magic happened. Big Ben hit the 3rd string RB for a TD
That game I was pretty much alone in the bar, I went absolute crazy during this game
Was attending University of Texas at the time; was watching the game in the dorm lounge by myself since there were no other Steelers fans, and literally screamed with joy when Troy caused that fumble, causing people to peer in lol.
Absolutely love this game! Ben casually gets his nose reset and just hops back in the game. Then that unbelievable strip by Polomalu and a great drive to follow!
Personally my favorite Steelers-Ravens game. 8-3 vs. 8-3 in a game that ended up deciding the division and a first round bye. Troy with the clutch turnover and Ben, bloodied and battered, making the plays at the end. I always prefered the lower scoring games in the rivalry. Every play mattered
I agree, that is way i love the 2008 AFC championship, the Steelers vs Ravens week 15 2008 and this game, just beautiful to watch.
The Troy INT was the loudest Heinz has ever been I think and in my house with all my brothers and family. First your yelling cause he picked it, then you yell even louder "GO TROY GO!" and TD. So awesome. Top 5 Steeler plays of all time for me.
I miss games like this with the Ravens. And that Polamalu strip was a classic.
Yea, as long as we won.
The toughest qb in the league and this game shows it. He's been doing it for years. Go Steelers 💛🖤
Thanks Yinz for the upload 👍
Thanks for watching! 🖤💛
Sure am gonna miss that guy!
yeah good at getting allegations also
We were so lucky to watch so many great matchups. Brady, P Manning, E Manning, Big Ben, Flacco, Rodgers.
I remember watching this game as a teenager and I was like damn we are just too damn good. #HereWeGo
You will forever be missed. I was a fan from your first start. I still am. I wish you the best. I don't think the steelers will ever have a quarterback as good as you or as naturally talented. Your jersey is literally the only one I wear come game day. Well that and my Bettis superbowl xl jersey. I wish you and your family nothing but love and the best. It was awesome watching you win
Looking at this makes me think even more how people are crazy for not adding Ben in the Greatest of All times discussion. So many people sleep on Ben...it is truly sad...but since he has come into the league he has been fire...I can't wait to see what he does this year.
Yea really. I just hope he gets another one. Win 7 for 7.
Unbelievable game! Love how tough my QB is!
I remember during the broadcast they announced the passing of Don Meredith. Great announcer. R.I.P Dandy Don.
15:11 Vintage Big Benjamin. Miss those days. The only QB who could stiff arm all pro DE's
Absolutely amazing game. Steelers/Ravens were and still are fantastic matchups.
This was a good game. Big Ben has heart!!!
Loved this game.
13:11 Big Play Polamulu
It's so great to see the game I have so fond memories of from back in the day!
I was just watching this game again on my buddy chrome channel and I saw still cussing at my screen when dirty birds did what they did but we got the last laugh thanks for the memories buddy
I remember this game it was a Barnburner.
This might be my favorite regular season game
I can not express enough how tired I was of dealing with Terrel Suggs and Ray Lewis. This is probably the way Browns, Bengals, and Ravens fans feel about Big Ben, and also Troy before he retired.
And it’s how they feel about dealing with tj watt and minkah now. Those guys dominate in division games(except in the playoffs smh)
@@frodowatt4272 totally agree, and Maybe Najee Harris for the Future!
Yeah but playing against the Cravens twice every year keeps us being a tough team...I hate the Cravens but on a very respectfull way... We will shock the world... If we can run the ball... Long live Steelers nation...
@@kennethcanady8826 I agree. The Ravens basically built their team like the Steelers. The Steelers have dominated the North for so long that the Ravens had to emulate the Steelers to compete. So like you, I appreciate the Ravens because they had to become tough in order to beat the Steelers, and the Steelers have to remain tough to stay ahead of them.
It should be interesting to see how the Browns do this year being one of the Hunted instead of the underdog.
@@michaelpatrickmccracken5748 Great point... The Cleveland Clowns will choke under pressure....
You would not believe how much I was thinking about this game after last night. This and so many other memories since 2004. I'm really glad that I got to experience Ben Roethlisberger, especially because I remember Stewart, Maddox, Kent Graham, Mike Tomczak, Neil O'Donnell, and even Bubby Brister (Luckily for me, I missed out on the Mark Malone error) as the starting QB. The young folks who have no memory of that period are really fortunate.
What a great show of perseverance by the Steelers, never give up, never give in! A true display of great coaching and never-say-die players who always went above and beyond the call of duty which is a Steeler legacy within itself ;) Blessings to ya Yinz, you never fail to make mine and many others day!
Thank you as always 🖤💛 It’s going to be a great year
Oooh yeah baby ,,I'll never forget this one ,,
All that broken nose did was piss him off ,,and the whole team
Yet another example of just how intense it was when these two teams went at it. Best rivalry in football.
Do you recall the interview of Big Ben immediately after this game? They asked him about how it felt to play with a broken nose. He answered that when the game began his injured foot really bothered him, but after he broke his nose it didn't bother him anymore! It would be wonderful to addend that short quip from his interview to this video of this amazing game!
No they ain't
People forget how good Ben was in his prime. Everyone wants to remember his final few years as he slowed down, not the 15 years he was killing it.
The game I remember most was the one where the Pittsburgh defencive just destroyed the Baltimore O line.and getting close to half time Flaco undr center looked truly terrified by what was coming his way. I had never seen a QB look that scared in a game.
Yea, I think Flacco still has nightmares of that defense.
You could play this one 16 times I'd come to em all. One of the smartest things Collinsworth ever said
Gracias, como siempre muy muy buenos recuerdos , ese flacco pagó los platos 👍👍👍👍👍
Ben was tough as they come! Played the whole Game with broken nose! Thats tough
I had to be so quiet that game. I was trying to get my daughter to go to sleep. She was a few months old. I almost woke her up when Polamalu got that strip-sack.
Oh she would have been awake if that was me. I'm pretty sure I stayed up late anyway because of pure adrenalin and the afterglow of the win.
absolutely incredible how Roethlisberger wins this game with the broken nose
If they broke bradys nose they would have ejected anyone within 15 feet and had a moment of silence😎😎😎👍👍😃😃😃🤕🤕🤕🙄🤔🤔
LMBO
I know right....
Or Rogers, Manning, etc... Alll the darlings. But yea, definitely Brady. They would have gave him an award for it.
Loved this iteration of the team... and this game.
A very small known fact: This would be Ben's last win against Baltimore until 2013! (Swept in 2011, and Charlie Batch was qb in 2012). Also Ben wouldn't win in Baltimore again until 2017 to where he went on a dominating stretch there at 4-0(8-0 altogether) and not losing to Baltimore again.
I was at this game and loved it!
So many times Ben wouldn’t get any calls for roughing the passer
Yea, really. It was such bullshit.
This game was a battle of attrition. Palamalu won the game for us.
Steelman Big Ben
Man I remember those games like it was yesterday
Cause they were some of the best football games you and I have probably watched.
Great game!
A little known fact: This was Bens 6th straight win against Baltimore that would extend to 7 in the 2010 postseasonthat started in 2007, it would be snapped in week 1 2011. Ben went undefeated against the Ravens from 2007-2010
Redzone Redman is what I called him
Damn this team is the literal opposite of what we have now. Physicality and size was nuts
HATE each other between the bells, but much respect, most of the rest of the time.
Raven fan. Big Ben is GOAT
Imagine if this happened to Brady 😂
The NFL would've created a new rule if this would've happened to Brady or any of the other golden boy QB's. NFL: all QB's must now wear visors and defensive linemen can no longer swing their arms near the QB's head.
@Baba Ganush yup and it's sad bro.
Thomasina would have RETIRED!
polomalu man😳
Our inability to score in the red zone over the years has drove me crazy.
I think a lot of it has to do with bens gunslinger mentally and the lack of a strong run game
@Baba Ganush not really maybe back in the 2000s but ever since 2010 the Steelers haven’t been a top rushing team whatsoever and it’s been horrible since Randy Fichner
Still waiting for the hands to the face flag on Ngata
I ain’t no doctor but most noses don’t do..... like that 😂
😆
I’ll always remember this game. Not sure if you’ve already done this but could you do a video of all the best radio calls from Hillgrove and Tunch over the years??
and heath Miller got knocked out too
When Big Ben goes into the NFL Hall of Fame the year will be (2027)
Can you imagine if it was tommy boy or Peyton who had their face rearranged and hit in the helmet to boot? Ben is a Steeler. Keep your mahomes or Wilson’s
Es muy simple es un GUERRERO
12:03 is something thats been sorely missing from the Steelers defense from years. Creativity, movement and confusion. Butler just makes them line up and play more likely than not, and his only blitz seems to be the Slot Corner Blitz.
I hate the Steelers but this was peak rivalries and my high school days were constant shit talk. I miss the early 2010 squads Ravens Steelers always a good/bad time
As a Ravens fan from Kansas City, man these games used to get me so hyped. Just the thought of the rivalry caused me to barely get schoolwork done because I was thinking about the game. I was in high school as well when the rivalry peaked from 2008-2011. Good times bro
One of four regular seasons where the matchups were split and the points were even between Harbaugh and Tomlin
Just shared it on Twitter but apparently they suspended you?? What the freak?!
Yep, got DMCA’d for something from 2018, appears to be permanent :( I’ve moved to Instagram instead after that
Avoid twitter. It's toxic AF
It’s nice being off of it. Instagram is a place where I can post what I want & be on with my day. Twitter was a warzone lol
How did he break his nose with such little force on the Little swipe
HOW MANY QBS COULD PLAY WITH A BROKEN NOSE JUST SHOWS THE TRUE GRIT OF BIG BEN HE TAKES ALOT OF HITS AND HE IS LIKE A TIMEX WATCH TAKES A LICKIN AND KEEPS ON TICKINHE IS ONE VERY TOUGH QB SO GLAD HE IS A STEELER
Ben is tougher than woodpecker lips
Ngata was dirty man, I still think he hurt Fernando Velasco on purpose.
Ngata ever hit Brady like that he would have been carted off and life-starred to
The ER
Battle of the defenses tbh
See big Ben is the tough daddy of afc QBs, yeah mahomes is great but I like Josh Allen better cause I like grit
THAT'S MY GUy... buy bigben.
he’s the tasmanian devil for a reason
Its odd that such a legendary game, with several legends in it, ends with a skipped pass from a legendarily over-paid and overrated qb!
