The birth of the greatest dynasty in all of sports. No other league had to change the rules of their game so the other teams could compete against just one. And we still won 2 SB's after that. The greatest collection of talent the sports world has ever seen ✌️

Super Bowl 9, mighty fine! Super Bowl 10, did it again! Super Bowl 11, should of been Steeler Heaven!! Super Team 13 n 14!! Only team in history to win 4 in 6 years AND back to back....TWICE!!!! One day an ORGANIZATION will win back to back twice BUT, never again will a TEAM do it!!!

@@HaroldMccoy-vv4lt they were definitely the greatest NBA dynasty. But the NBA didn't change its rules bc the Celtics were demolishing everyone they played (although a case could've been made for it lol). They were phenomenal. But what the 70's Steelers did was groundbreaking. You're not wrong in your choice of the Celts ...just my preference ✌️

@@michaelmarshall7271 Cherish that memory. You witnessed the beginning of what is arguably the greatest dynasty to ever step on a football field.
That play started it all. They would go on to win four championships before the end of the decade.
It’s a shame they lost the following week. Just imagine if they ruined Miami’s perfect season in the AFC Championship and went on to win it all.

@MeanGREENE-e3o i can appreciate the enthusiasm, but what would make you think this team can win a super bowl? Maybe just win a playoff game first. You need to score points in today's nfl. And they can't do that. The o line is not a super bowl caliber o line. And even tho they have the highest paid defense in the league, their basic zone defense that they run gets carved up by good qbs. This team is far from a super bowl winner. At the end of the day tho, go steelers.

I was 15 at my first beer party. I got in with four rolls of wheat pennies. Rough time in Pittsburgh with the steel mills laying off, the gas crisis and the turbulence of adolescence. I didn’t see much of the first half - the TV was small and black and white and not near the beer and the girls and my friends. But during the second half the party drifted to the TV room. We might win this thing! When we did we spilled into the darkening city streets, running and cheering. Horns blew in every neighborhood. I remember stopping to catch my breath. It was a work night, a school night. I had to go home soon. Better eat a mint. And would I ever kiss a girl? Yet my life was suddenly good at that moment. Something lit up inside. Pride I think. The whole city felt it. We won using that blue collar style of toughness. Not only were the Steelers a winner, so was Pittsburgh. The people. We all were champions. Even me. I’m 63 now.

And because of being a bit wild when I was younger I copped a few criminal charges which will preclude me from ever visiting your beautiful country, beautiful city and beautiful people (tho I did visit LA and San Francisco on my way to Mexico when I was 15yo, before my love of the Pittsburgh Steelers) but mostly because I’ll never go to Heinz/Acrisure Stadium which I now deeply regret, but you can’t turn back time unfortunately.

Likewise. The problem is, is everyone of those players played as a team. They respected the game. What we have today on the field is the exact opposite. So much showboating and stupid antics on the field after almost every play. The maturity level is zero compared to 1974. Don’t think we’ll ever see that again. I blame the NFL and I blame primarily head coaches. Still waiting for one head coach to open training camp and say we don’t do that crap on the field. It’s very sad.

Fortunately our RA, Scott White, brought a portable 12in B&W TV to the dining hall so we leisuely watched the 3rd quarter while eating, then ran back to the dorm to see the final quarter. A remarkable film of a legendary, mythical team and dynasty. My folks got season tickets in 1972, and I attended many games with them as a teenager at Three Rivers Stadium. I will never forget how it felt to be there, the thunderous noise, and how they won many games before the opening kickoff because most teams were absolutely terrified of perhaps the greatest team ever assembled. I was born & raised in Pgh, always a Steeler fanatic and will never forget how sweet those 4 Super Bowl wins from '75 to '80 were. I also remember how hard it was to watch a Steelers game back then; tickets were hard to come by unless you had season tickets which were kept in the family and willed from father to son. The TV blackout rules back then made it impossible to watch on TV anywhere close to Pgh, and this was long before Sat TV, streaming TV and the internet. I remember games we were so desperate to watch, we drove halfway across Ohio to get a motel room outside the blackout area just to watch the game.

And to think they accomplished this goal all while acting like complete professionals. Unlike today’s players. No running into the Endzone to pose for a picture after a fumble recovery or interception. No running up and down the field after a routine tackle or sack. The list goes on. Today’s NFL should take a big page from 1974 and learn from it.

2024. I'm 44 years old. I missed the 70s by my mom too young to bring me here yet 😂😂😂😂
But my 12 year old (he fights Kyokushin sunce he was 4 and trying basketball too late 😂) but my son asked me today why I liked football so much. Born and raised Wilkinsburg and Homewood 90s. Successful in Vegas since 2003 as a veteran. I came to this video to help. But nahhhh lol. So hard to explain to my boy born in Golden Nights and Las Vegas Aces era, why I love football so much but never played 😂😂😂. My son bled for his sport. He doesn't understand why I fake bleed for mine 💯✌🏽

Great professional players, no matter what the sport, always want to play they inherently never are satisfied "ridding the bench"...that will and desire is what makes those players best of all time.

Watching the Steelers lose gave me great joy as a Vikings fan in the 70' and 80's.
As I matured into an adult I slowly realized how foolish I was to root blindly against Pittsburgh.
As I get closer to 70 years old I have the greatest admiration for those 70's Steelers, for they were the definition of the word "team". They were also the definition of the words "integrity" " brotherhood" "loyalty" and "professional" just to name a few.
What àn organization you fans have. And what fans that organization has!!

Look all these people comparing how the Steelers changed the game and they did no doubt about it but but people are forgetting about one person not the Celtics but one player changed basketball wilt the stilt chamberlain and I know that he played in a different era with a bunch of white guys who on average were at least a foot shorter than him but any player who could put up a hundred points in a single game that’s who changed a game one man incredible

Now, this is just a hypothetical situation, nothing more. But during this season, when Terry Bradshaw wanted to get traded. Let's say we did do it. We traded him to New Orleans an exchange for Archie Manning. What does Steelers still have won for Super Bowls, or could you have won more.

The Steelers are going to wear their black jerseys to celebrate the 1st Super Bowl team. I wish they would wear the white jerseys to really honor that team. But I guess it’s against the Steeler Law to wear white jerseys at home.
