This video was gold, full dissemble and reassemble with commentary. Have taken apart my XR and back together fully once now with this video. Turns out I gotta tear it apart again so here’s round two
second time doing back glass replacement with my first laser as a total beginner, had to laser it twice then i used knife for about 1,5hours and voila finished like new :)
I did that once and never again. A full housing frame swap is best if you don't have a back glass laser machine. You basically took the entire phone apart so just put it back together in a new housing assembly.
It's for extra protection from burning the components. But, if you're careful and don't apply too much heat in a specific spot ESPECIALLY around the sensistive parts, like the camera area and the bottom charging port area, you should be fine. I've almost finished one just now , first time. It was so painful to get the glass out... probably not usin enough heat but was worried I'd burn something under the glass. Ultimately, it is almost complete (need to glue new cover back on) and it was all okay.
There's another video that shows you how to do it without a full disassembly. This is a bit overkill. But if you do go that route, be careful with the heat gun to not damage components or battery.
while putting the inside back together the charging port black strip directly connected to the actual port ripped. what do i do now??? can i glue it? Solder it?

Apples glue on the back is stupid strong. Not bad but a laser machine is always preferred. And have a vaccum near as shards go everywhere

Laser name/brand? - I want to buy one
No one wants a smelly phone. No laser lol
@@henriksvensson2836 laser name/brand? I want to buy one...

Where can you buy it
only the price differs a lot
Why is it so necessary to remove all the components? im assuming it has to do with the heat being applied?

Holy Crap! I think I'll just take it into a shop. *sigh*

@Brakfrica which is why I do the full teardown here. Just remove the stuff that you dont want to replace if you break it
Just buy the frame back glass and Amal pieces together way easier
You have to take the entire phone apart for the back glass ?? Huh?
At this point, its easier to just swap the frame. The frame js around 30 dollars. Ffs apple, there's no reason to glue it down so hard.

Replace with a new one, the whole port cable
I will
Never try this at home !
15 dollars for glass 1500 for tools
Literally less than $100 for the tools
That was not simple
poking at the stuff you need this costs more then 15 dollars.
Less than $60 of materials in this video. Besides the glue, I still have all this materials years later. So is it still really work $60+ every video?
What a stupid phone
