Me too. My Spanish wife comes from Valladolid. When we were younger my father in law used to drive us to all these places in Castile. I love the Spanish coast but people are only scratching the surface. Driving through the interior of Spain is full of history, hidden gems and great landscape.
Seems quite cold there, it's good to show that Spain is not all sun and beaches but also a mountainous medieval cold country, it's great to show the little secrets of Spain, well done James and Yolly (did I spell Yolly right? Sorry if I didn't)
My wife and I drove around Siguenza in 2018, coming from Cuenca through the Guadalajara Sierra. We were on our way to stay in El Burgo de Osma for a holiday in the region. This part of the country is not visited by many foreigners but is quintessentially Spanish or, more accurately, Castilian. In order to explore these places you really need a car but they are absolutely worth it. Tons of history and beautiful landscapes. Every small town has a spectacular castle, monastery or church. The Paradores are good but expensive. I tend to visit them just to have a drink and look around before spending the night in something a lot cheaper. Worth doing for a romantic weekend though. Cheers James and Yoli
James your Trips are getting more and more professional and so informative.... Talking to the locals' Eating great food' Going to The Local Bars the heart and soul of any small town .... Well done James ......Looking forward to next one.
No obstante, Spanish people like me ( ( I’m from BCN ) also have soooo much to learning about Spain inland ( ( speciallly countries as Leon, North Castile, Cantabria, Galicia or Asturias ). Sois muy simpáticos . Saludos, afectuosamente! ❤️
One of your best. Thanks guys. This is Spain for me. The costas are fine but the country has so much to offer. Never been to Siguenza but I have travelled in Spain a lot and I have never, never had a bad experience with local people, except maybe trying to get my car repaired quickly 😊
I love those mountain towns around Madrid, we'll often visit them if we have a couple of free days, fell in love with sergovia the other year, wonderful place
Beautiful views, and it's like stepping back in time. Another little bit about Castile, is the Castile soap this area is known for throughout the world. So nice to see you and Yoli, visiting such a lovely part of Spain. Thank you!
LOL, reminds me of when my wife and I bought some olive oil soap in Andalusia. When customs were checking the huge white blocks in our travel bag they thought they had the bust of the century.
Goodness gracious James y Yoli, that's was brilliant!! At the beginning of the vid, I felt that I was watching a short film. Great work. Sorry we haven't left a comment in a while but we still watch and "like" every video posted. Hope to see more Paradores. Last year we stayed at the one in Lerma. We plan to see more. Siguenza has just risen to the top of the list.
Besos pareja.
AWEsome AWEsome AWEsome!! I'll be in Madrid ( & Barcelona) at the end of this month. We have been watching your videos and taking notes. For my next trip to Spain I will go to Siguenza and would LOVE to stay in the Castle. Salutations from USA. ps you mention Yolis mother is from Guadalajara region. Part if family's history is the Guadalajara Mexico., that has it's roots from Guadalajara , Spain. 👏👏👍👍👍
Thanks James and Yoly! Was in Siguenza about four years ago and loved it. Thanks as always for your great videos...it keeps me in touch with Spain when I'm here in Ireland 😊🍀🇪🇸

James and Yoly great video!! Planning taking my family to Spain early next year. That's how I came across your channel. Been watching most of your food videos. I was happy to see this castle video. Thanks!!
I feel so sorry for the folks in the twelfth century. It must have been hard having to watch TV by candle light! Nice to see you getting out and about!
Beautiful! Reminds me of our day trip to Ávila last summer, right down to the little mishaps with wine! Our waitress knocked down a glass right on me. Please keep traveling and posting!!!
James! You hit this one (as usual) out of the park! Best ever! You are an amazing presenter, but your real gift is your wife! Coolest wife (and most beautiful) on UA-cam! Cheers you lucky bastard! Much love!
Great one James and Yoli! Great meat (sorry vegans) & haunted castle 😂 Cool Iberian brothers. Really beautiful and romantic, full of History. 💗 from interior Portugal
I can't stop watching all your videos. I've been to barcelona 2 times and now i want to go visit other parts of spain. Hopefully after the pandemic. I love Yolie she reminds me of my cousins from Mexico.
This might be your best vid yet! Thanks! And you're making me homesick. Only a couple more months and I'll be back in my beloved Barcelona. For now, I'm living through you. Keep up the great work, love you guys!
Got back last week from staying in this castle...lovely and enchanting just as you said. We wouldn't have considered this place if not for you and Yoly's recommendation! We even made our own version of the scary hallway video, too!
Always love your videos, but particularly enjoyed this one with the parador. I studied Spanish in Salamanca back in 1994 and whilst having returned to Spain on many occassions since then, it has always been to Andalucia or Barcelona. Returning to Madrid for Easter in April and can not wait! Keep up the good work.
Hi James, "The Cruel" was only the nickname given by his enemies. His loyal followers think he was the "Justice Man" precisely because of all the nobles he order to kill. His marriage was a treatry between Castile and France and Blanca's father broke it not paying all the dowry to Peter, so he refuses to consider himself as married and, probably, ordered to kill his wife… because he was in love with, and also have children, another woman...
I love the style of your channel. I'm so glad I found you guys (just yesterday!). Although it will take 2-3 years, my partner and I and all of our kids are saving up and looking to move to Spain. Your channel has been a Godsend in this dream.
Loved this video (all of your videos actually)! Is León too far from Madrid for you guys to do a video of that city? It would be great to see your stay at a historic place like el Hotel Real Colegiata de San Isidoro and the surrounding old city. But wherever you go, you make it interesting and exciting!
Great work, so touchy. I,ve been there recently with my wife. No sign of doña Blanca, poor little thing, but instead we saw the "doliente ánima", the ghost of a black friar, an imponent aparition, sitting at the second floor hall gazing with hawkly eyes. You have my word, the word of a spaniard gentleman. Great pic of Castilla, the soul of the stone and anvil, le chant du givre et du loup, if you pardon my "parlevu" Keep the good times flowing, my friends. Congrats
James, my boyfriend & I went to Sigüenza over the weekend & loved it! Only one complaint: we bought a small bag of chocolate truffles from the cloistered nuns thinking, " James & Yolo didn't make that big a deal about them, how good can they be?" Holy cow!! Best chocolate I've ever had! We went back for more, but they had closed and we needed to head back home to Madrid ☹️
Awesome video, you just brightened up my miserable Monday. That castle and the whole area looks amazing, I definitely have to leave the comfort of Madid and explore further away the next time I go.
It’s lovely to see how much you love our country 😊❤️ I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talking with that passion about us... thank you for this amazing videos
I also have been in Sigüenza Parador, is really amazing. I also recommends you another two Parador Castles in Spain where I have been, Olite in Navarra and Baiona in Pontevedra (Galicia). There are many more, but I remember those two.
Was a vegetarian for five years before grad school in Spain. Early on, if I ordered vegetarian I'd usually get served eggs or fish. ;-) Visiting the high plains towns of Castile-La Mancha is a fool's errand without being open to generous meat choices. (I made peace with the delicious game birds.)
So close to Medinacelli, but yet so far!!!! I absolutely love your vlogs. I discovered your videos yesterday and have seen several in the past 24 hours. My husband & I lived in Spain for the school year back in "75" as my husband was completing his Architectural degree (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, California). Best year of our lives!! Thank you SO much!! Also hope I come across Colonia Guell, Almunecar & Ronda in your vlogs! Thank YOU!
Great video guys, I love castles, thank you for talking so good of my country and is good showing foreign people no all Spain is like Benidorm or Magaluf lol, welcome to Spain
Hola Jaime y Yoli, just finished watching your new video. Enjoyed every minute. We're looking forward to our 7 month stay, starting in April, in Andalusia with our first time No Lucrativa Visa. You have inspired us with your series of videos in Spain to spend a lot of time in your beautiful country. We will be looking for a place to settle that will accommodate our adventures throughout the country. Semana Santa we travel to Sevilla for the festival. Hoping to see you there? Thanks again and Great Job. PS: Any suggestions on other festivals in Andalucia would be very helpful.
Hola James,Yoly! Me and my wife finally made it to the castle. We spent 2 wonderful nights, yes my wife claims Doña Blanca’s spirit does come out at night. Thank you for this video, we saw it then we added it to our travel list.
Buen dia! You replied some time back that you were going there. I took my daughter to Spain in 1996 and our one luxe stay was at the same Parador. We didn't have the means to both stay and eat there, so we stayed there and ate at one of the bars in town. I remember a menu something like you described, nothing that I was familiar with so we winged it. I didn't know about the poor queen who was imprisoned there, but did learn that it was an archbishop's palace for many centuries. I guess the archbishops felt insecure! Keep up the getting into the far corners of Spain. Hasta, Tim
CIAO & PRAYERS FROM TANGO SEA: YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME...LOVE THIS VIDEO. YOU GUYS SHOULD MAKE MORE VIDEOS OF CASTLE HOTEL...LOOKING FORWARD FOR MORE CASTLE HOTEL VIDEOS...THIS VIDEO CAME OUT OUTSTANDING VIEWS ...BRAVO !!! BLESSING DAY !!!
About 20 years ago I spent a night in the Parador de Siguenza. Beautiful building, great location, delicious cuisine. My only caveat is that in many years of travel, hundred of hotel stay, this is the only place where I have ever run into bedbugs. That doesn't prejudice me against Paradores since I have stayed in around 30 of them and would recommend them highly.
If you are going to explore the paradores, you might want to mention car rentals at some time in a future. This is a great expansion of your franchise. I love the consumption of the culture and history. Remind people to spend at least 3 days in any one place rather than at least 3 places in one day. Too few people learn about and absorb their surroundings when they travel.
Very nice video! Just two issues. First, a well cooked tortilla is not disgusting as such. Actually, this is the way most people in Spain love tortilla. Of course, better homemade than in a motorway bar. Second, good choice for lunch in Calle Mayor! It is actually the very best restaurant in Sigüenza, but you didn’t tell us if you liked the cabrito or not. It is actually a speciality from Guadalajara. An additional remark regarding wine: you should have ordered wine from Guadalajara, such as Finca Rio Negro. We have very good wine in our province! The one you ordered is from Toledo... But anyway, very good video and a very good impression of our beautiful city of Sigüenza!
Another fantastic video! Very interesting, and also very funny! Please venture further afield to the East coast, to the small towns.... Oliva, where I am moving to from the UK, has loads of great restaurants and cafes....
Yet another great production and another place added to our growing list of places to visit in Spain. Thanks for the introduction to the Paradores. My Spanish spouse explained they were established in Franco’s time as a way to support and preserve the great historic buildings of Spain. What a great idea. We love this channel. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks you two. Absolutely loved this video, as with so many of yours. Sorry if I missed it but what was the price range of the room you showed us. It looked so good but I assume very expensive?? Included that great breakfast too? Plan to be there this year as we are retiring tom Spain at the end of April. Can't wait!!! Thanks again.

The Paradores are definitely the best hotel chains in Spain. With some of the best locations, restaurants, service, bars and everything
That are indeed amazing! Which is your favourite?

Unusable website though. Constant unexpected errors when accessing from Australia.
I think a visit to Ronda in Malaga is essential, and they have a formidable Parador. Love your videos to practice my english.
Love the austerity of high Castilla.
These guys are clearly in love and that makes their videos sparkle. Stay happy!

No sign of doña Blanca, poor little thing, but instead we saw the "doliente ánima", the ghost of a black friar, an imponent aparition, sitting at the second floor hall gazing with hawkly eyes. You have my word, the word of a spaniard gentleman. Great pic of Castilla, the soul of the stone and anvil,
le chant du givre et du loup, if you pardon my "parlevu"
Keep the good times flowing, my friends. Congrats
Love Sigüenza. I spent a weekend also there sleeping in the Parador. Highly recommended.
Much love from Sagunto! I love following your adventures. Thank you both for all you do. Un abrazo!!
Gracias!!!
This came just at the perfect time when I was looking for sg like that near Madrid! Thanks a lot and hope to see more soon!!! Cheers
Loved this video James, keep up the good work you are doing great!
So great video James! thank you for showing people all over the world my country so beautifully as you do!
Awesome video, you just brightened up my miserable Monday. That castle and the whole area looks amazing, I definitely have to leave the comfort of Madid and explore further away the next time I go.
Let us know how you get on!!
It’s lovely to see how much you love our country 😊❤️ I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talking with that passion about us... thank you for this amazing videos
I'm surprised that you don't have 100K Subscribers yet!! Your videos are amazing!! You definitely deserve more Subscribers!! Love from America!
thank you!
James & Yoly - This video may be your BEST ever! Hopefully, you'll be making many exploration videos. Saludos!
Probably your best video so far !
Thank you!
one of your absolute best videos.
Thank you, James and Yoli Alioli, for another brilliant video.
Thank YOU!
Another excellent video!
Thank you!
What an amazing place. Loved the video and the history.
Thanks ma!! Xx
Great video guys, I love castles, thank you for talking so good of my country and is good showing foreign people no all Spain is like Benidorm or Magaluf lol, welcome to Spain
Thanks Leticia!
Hasta, Tim
CIAO & PRAYERS FROM TANGO SEA:
YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME...LOVE THIS VIDEO.
So true about how long to spend somewhere!
As usual...another great video from you. Muchas gracias!
Gracias Isay!!!
Don't forget to go to Cáceres, its incredible.
Poco a poco!!
@@spainrevealed 😂 I'm very impatient, I know! 🤣
I laughed SO hard when you guys did your little scare!! 😂 love your videos, and love your chemistry as a couple!! So sweet to see ❤️
Yet another great production and another place added to our growing list of places to visit in Spain.
Thanks for the introduction to the Paradores. My Spanish spouse explained they were established in Franco’s time as a way to support and preserve the great historic buildings of Spain. What a great idea.
We love this channel. Keep the videos coming!
Thank you! They were actually establish before then - by king Alfonso Alfonso XIII in 1928
Thanks you two.
Rooms in Paradores are between 80€ and 120€. Since Paradores is a public company they aren't as expensive as you think.
