Hello!! Finding your channel was like finding a treasure. I continue to dream of moving to Spain and enjoying the rich history and culture that runs through my blood. I won't ever give up on that dream but until it is manifested, thank you for your wonderful videos that really get to the heart of it all. Great success to you and Yoly. P.S. Yoly your singing was fantastic!!! Me encanto!! Mucho amor!!
Stay in Santo Domingo de la Calzada. The parador is a former hospital that pilgrims stayed in on the Ruta de Santiago. The restaurant has great food and amazing wine. It's close to Bilbao, in the center of wine country (we did a day trip to Haro, amazing city and food) and a nice stop if you're on the way to San Sebastián.
No doubt about it. Chinchón, so close from Madrid, a tiro de piedra. Cuenca, Guadalupe, Siguenza and Oropesa. More sword and sorcery and gastronomy for your educated senses.
Nothing to suggest, just the perfect kind of video for your style, even the 30 minutes long I think that fits. Thanks to Paradores for sponsoring you in these times, I think it is a great investment for them, and if I were Paradores' PR I would use your Cuenca, Cáceres and I hope some other more not only on youtube, but also on every English language TV station. As I do like to suggest things ... If you add a sequel cooking some traditional dish /es from Cáceres once at your home, for your cooking at home videos - that is other kind of show - it would be nice to watch.
There videos keep me in touch. I have had 2 trips to spain cancelled because of Covid but I am determined to get there once it is safe to travel again and restrictions have been lifted
I think Cáceres and the whole country, overall, deserve many great visits. In Spain there's everything, for everyone and for all tastes. There are countries, such as Spain, which have been at the center of the world for millennia and have shaped and written history for centuries and other countries that have only been dragged by it...
Cáceres was on the list as a potential location to visit next trip to España. Now it's a definite must visit. Thanks for another great video. Hasta luego.
This video was visually overwhelming. I would be enthralled in observing one structure and then you would cut to another equally impressive site. My visual senses couldn't keep up with all the beauty and intricacies of this medieval city. I was very pleased that the weather on the days of this video was so beautiful which allowed you to see every detail and appreciate the panoramic view of the city. The courtyard that Yoly found is so beautiful and I daydreamed of sitting there, enjoying its tranquility. Your hotel bathroom WAS definitely impressive! All the food that you presented looked amazing and I was envious of your experience (including the local wines that you had). Thank you for taking us on this superb tour with you.
We are off to Mérida tomorrow staying in a Paradore then we are spending 2 nights in Caceres..... on our way home to Vejer we will call in to Trujillo...... masks and hand sanitizer packed.... I can’t wait!! Thx fir the video. 😊
I had never heard of Caceres before seeing this video as part of a depressed, wine-driven pity party on the sofa during lockdown. I dreamed of visiting Caceres, and re-watched this video repeatedly (and other Caceres videos). Three weeks ago I was able to stay in Caceres as part of a big birthday trip to Spain, and I wished I had stayed there for the entire vacation. What a wonderful, beautiful, magical, friendly city! Thank you!
Cáceres is one of my favorite cities. Portugal has the Estremadura, with an s and not an x. What I like about Cáceres is that you have the old preserved part of the city and the new modern part, with wide boulevards and palm trees. The entrance coming in from the Autovia is impressive. Since we are economical with our money and have no sponsors, we stay at the four star Extremadura Hotel, which is quite reasonable and has a good breakfast. Staying in Cáceres you can make day trips to Trujillo, birthplace of Francisco Pizarro, conqueror of the Incas, Malpartida de Cáceres where a lot of the scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed, and Montánchez, that castle and village looking down from a distance on the Autovia de la Plata. If you are a history buff, you also have to visit Medellín, near Mérida, birthplace of Hernán Cortès, conqueror or the Aztecs. There is so much history here you don't know where to begin. Extremadura has been the filming location of many Spanish movies and television series. Perhaps the most famous filmed in the city of Cáceres itself is 1492, Conquest of Paradise, with Gerard Depardieu and Sigourney Weaver.
There are so many places in Spain besides the obvious one and you guys are the perfect ones to show us, thank you for a great video and waiting for more

I just discovered your UA-cam channel and I have been binge watching your episodes. I must say it is quite refreshing to watch each adventure that you post. I partially lived in La Coruna, Galicia when I was 2-5 years old (back in the 1970s). I remember the rich Spanish culture and the amazing food. My parents divorced and I came to Toronto, Canada when I was five years old with my mother. A big part of me misses that rich Spanish culture. Thank you for creating this UA-cam channel. Fantastic content. A little piece of home in my heart.

Excellent video, as usual. You guys are wonderful promoters of these charming cities and now that my husband and I are living in Oviedo, we are taking notes on places to see. I actually got chills thinking about the age and history of your tower retreat. We are both working on our Spanish so that we show the proper deference to our beloved host country. We feel so privileged to live here now. BTW, I liked your collaboration with Stuart of Spain Speaks. You are both great bridges between the Anglo and Latin cultures. Saludos y abrazos desde Asturias.
@@rayvogensen2983, we live in Oviedo in the city center. We are retired and my mother's family came from Asturias. It is, indeed, a marvelous place.
I stayed at El Hostal De Los Reyes Católicos en Santiago De Compostela. It was a beautiful experience. Can’t wait to go visit more Paradores. They are just amazing and enriching with history. Nice video.
I felt your sentiment when you said you cried. I wanted to return this year, 2020, and our covid infections spiked that we are not allowed in Europe. I cried for more than a week, and have been sad for months, but I keep watching these videos and they sustain me because they give me the will and hope to continue to dream and make my future visit a reality. I WILL RETURN TO SPAIN.

Brilliant video, informative and entertaining, you guys are amazing, really inspiring me to travel around Spain! The photography is superb and you have a lovely voice, Yoly! Keep up the great work! x

This is one of your most beautiful videos you’ve created to date! I enjoyed learning about the lovely Caceres. Yoli was especially charming in this one and I especially appreciated her singing, especially her carefully navigating the complex microtonal embellishments. My wife has been wanting me to mention to you how much we have been enjoying the videos on Spain Revealed. We discovered (through algorithmic suggestion) near the beginning of our “quarantine” and have been binge-watching like a Netflix true-crime series. Your videos have been a great comfort in these anxiety-inducing times. My wife and I met and then lived in Palma de Mallorca for about 8 years in the 90s when we were in our 20s. My wife lived in Madrid on her own while she worked at La Scala. I have many regrets about not visiting more of la peninsula, but I certainly explored every nook and cranny of my beloved Mallorca, even finding gems in the ugliest tourist zones (A good fish and chip shop or German restaurant). Your videos often trigger memories of our times there, even sometimes just the way the setting sun looks against medieval buildings or a landscape view from a tower. Anyway, thanks again, your videos, we find them fun, informative and often beautiful.
Any chance you guys could do a video like this one of Segovia? I was there in 1991 and would love to see you two walk the streets there and talk about all the amazing history of the city. Riding the train there from Torrejon de Arroz and spending the entire day there was amazing. It was one of greatest moments of my life. Next year, in February, it will be 30 years since I was there. I had planned on going back to celebrate, but due to Covid, it won't happen. So, seeing you two there would be amazing! Thanks again for sharing with us. Really, really love your vlogs!
G-damn it, you two! When will us Americans be allowed to go back to Spain? Now, I have to return to Toledo AND visit Cuenca and Caceres. C'mon, a bucket list can only be so long!
Don't miss Ávila and Segovia if you visit that area, and Granada if you visit the south, and Gerona if you visit the northeast, and Santiago de Compostela if you visit the northwest... and many other smaller and beautiful towns all around Spain...
And don't forget Mérida, one of the most important cities in roman Hispania. Also visit Tierra de Campos, land of solitary plains of castles, where the visigoth people settled during the last years of the Roman empire
@Jeff Zucker, I had covid in 2020, so Spain was not an option that year. Then 2021, the restrictions were still in place and 2022 was a recovery year. Looking for to 2023 as the year. Long overdue. I was in southern Spain in early October 2019.
Really loved the video on the whole as well. So cool to see the views of the city. Medieval is the perfect adjective, it seems. I look forward to visiting Cáceres at some point. In truth, I haven't been to Extremadura at all, and I feel like it's a region that deserves more attention, both from me and just in general. You don't hear as much about Extremadura as you do about many of the other regions of Spain, but every time I see photos or videos, it looks so beautiful. Thanks for the video! It's always a pleasure!
This is the best yet , a toure of a real medieval town packed tight with good information . I watched it twice and still there is more , it reaches a lot of levels .
Awesome video. The video quality is top notch. Keeping track of your adventures so that when this crazy pandemic is under control I can follow your footsteps.
Fantastic, professional video, such enthusiasm and Loli's singing was cherry on the top. Food looked amazing, my mouthwash watering! This is now in our 'to do' list. Loved it.😍

James and Yoly your video is awesome, my wife and I saw your video about 3 times. We always visit Madrid in March for about month of every year but this time we plan to visit in September 2021 because of the virus. We will visit Parador Hotel in September and will request room 201. 👍😷
Oh my, what a PEACH of a tour video! Cáceres is now in my must visit list - once I've thoroughly explored my new hometown of Oliva in València... I have finally moved here from the UK 😊❤️🇪🇸
What a delightful video tour of your visit. Great photography and narration. It was nice to see Yoly also contribute narration and surprise us with a Flamenco song, share another sometime. Another little gem to visit someday.
Fantastic video yet again, James and Yoli! "You've driven me to migas"!!! Lol! 🤣 Please do a video of Salamanca and the Casa Lys. Keep doing what you are doing, we can all dream we are in Spain right now... ⚘⚘⚘ Great singing Yoli! Love to you both xx
Loved this video! I cannot wait to go there someday! I'm going to make Migas for my kids for breakfast tomorrow! That looks like a winner to add to the breakfast rotation here in NC. There is only so many bowls of Cheerios that I am willing to serve my children in my lifetime and I may have reached my limit! My question for you two is how the heck do you not weigh 500 pounds a piece?? I think I gained two just watching this video ;)
Wow! That was great. It was exciting to think about an american cocking migas for breaskfat, when is a strong food, very right to the anglos taste even. I really hope they liked them. Next time you could try "churros" or "tejeringos" with a warm cup of chocolate. Have a nice day.
I just saw your Vlog a few weeks ago and Subscribed right away. I’ve been in Spain several times and loved those Paradores. My first Parador experience was Parador Ducal de Lerma and spent a week there and the most recent was this January….. The Parador in Cardona, Barcelona for a week. Built in the late 800s. More power to you and your wife, and Lucia.
¡Gracias!
I've viewed about a dozen or so of your videos by now. Nice couple ... But now hearing Yoly sing flamenco won me over! I see - and hear - why James is enchanted. ¡Brava, Yoly! Well done, sir.
Hi James and Yoly!:) Thanks a lot for another great video! You're really making it on a very professional level. And James, your narrative style reminds me of Michael Palin in his travel documentaries, which I also adore!
Absolutely fantastic video James and Yoly! Since European travel is out of the question right now, you two showing and teaching us about these places is great. I really dig the Moorish feel of this town. As a photographer, your videos really make me want to go photography these locations! :) Well done!
great video on a great city. We had the pleasure of going twice and had Antonio both times as a guide! Once through Caceres, the other in Merida, his parents home, so we could see the black pigs and a castle. Excellent tours, enchanting area.
So many gorgeous moments here: enough medieval towers to fill a season of Game of Thrones, rapturous gardens of oranges, swirling red wine in breast-shaped glasses, Yoly's white robed before bed singing, and what looked like a deep fried octopus the size of Kraken the sea monster. When the world is woken from its pandemic sleep I'm coming to Spain with images of James & Yoly dancing in my dreams. Thanks again for a lovely tour:)
Love all of your videos, but just now watched the new one in Caceres and found it especially beautiful and relaxing. Earlier this afternoon, stumbled upon a show (Neven's Spanish Food Trails) on a local Los Angeles CA public TV channel with your buddy Marta Sanchez, Devour Tours. It was in Granada, and in her segment, she took the host on a fun tapas bar tour.
Yoly has such a pleasant speaking voice, but her singing voice is stunning! Thanks for showing Cáceres to us and reminding us that "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!" (which was such a travesty in so many ways)
Happy you enjoy my country. I really hole Careces was only a stop, and you both can to enjoy "La ruta de la plata" plenty. It is a trip to remember it with a smile. Thanks.
Extremadura.
I really enjoyed this one, even a second time. You guys write a great story. I was fortunate to have been able to study in Cáceres in 1989 and I left a good portion of my heart there due to the wonderful people, and especially my host family. Well done, Yoly y James!
Loved the video! We went to Cáceres a few years ago for an overnight stay when visiting my family in Lisbon. I love medieval towns and Cáceres checks all the boxes. Absolutely gorgeous. The only problem was the heat in the dead of summer. When we arrived at 1:30 it was a ghost town because everyone was having their Ciesta to ride out the heat. Sure enough the town was buzzing after 7. Spain and Portugal are filled with gems like this one. Thank you for the great tour!
*I don't even know what Im saying *hahaha love it ' the authenticity is why this channel is my favorite glad to see you guys are hanging in and healthy ! much love from NYC
I have watched this video 3 times (Sad I know). Just show me a Castle or a medieval building and I'll be there with bells on. Can't wait to get back to Spain. I have promised myself at least 8 weeks there next time and since I missed out on an overseas trip this year and it will probably be another 2 yrs before we get to travel OS (So says the Aussie Government) I am planning on using the time to save lots more money for a longer stay.... and of course, Caceres is on the list now!
Hope you enjoyed the video guys! Have you stayed in an amazing Parador? Which ones should we add to the list to explore?

I was supposed to go to Spain yesterday but my country won't allow it. When Joly started sang I started to cry. I SO wanted to go. ...
saskiapanter I’m sorry :( one day it will happen !
Same here
I am so sorry for you man, I hope you can come some day! We will welcome you with open arms!
@@Emy53 same here, I WILL go back again. Spain is my second motherland. I've been coming to Spain since I was 2 years old so for 46 years now. My home away from home ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Brilliant video, informative and entertaining, you guys are amazing, really inspiring me to travel around Spain! The photography is superb and you have a lovely voice, Yoly! Keep up the great work! x
We finally got a chance to sit down and watch this video. Primero, la comida se ve... fabulosa! La boca se nos hace agua. Great video, chicos!!! Muchas gracias por enseñarnos esta ciudad. IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! Can't wait to visit!! Saludos!!!
No seria sois? Talvez por eso yo solamente uso ustedes. Nunca aprendi conjugar los verbos con vosotros.
@@rayvogensen2983 bueno...haciendo fallos se aprende. 😉
@@sandrasimarro8389 Muy simpática con su respuesta.
Most beautiful medieval city I've ever been to.
I visited Cáceres two years ago. I do love the city.
Another wonderful video rounded off by Loli's hidden voice of love for her flameco. Ya can't beat the creativeness one has within😊
Gracias por el paseo. Muy hermoso. Y el arranque flamenco de Yoli... jajaja..
Thanks for promoting my homeland!
Cáceres is such a good filming location (Including Game Of Thrones) because the electric cables are not exposed on the external walls in the old city.
Im from Cáceres and im glad you like it, whenever you want to come back, let me know please, there's even more here to show to you.
Great sound editing! Loved the transition between the guy playing the guitar and the intimate piano (?)
Loved this! Yolie moves like a dancer. So graceful!!
G-damn it, you two! When will us Americans be allowed to go back to Spain? Now, I have to return to Toledo AND visit Cuenca and Caceres. C'mon, a bucket list can only be so long!
I think anyone can fly here anyway... I think.
It certainly is a place you should visit Matt. So much to explore.
excellent video James and Yoly... The more I watch your video's the faster I want to come and live there... Love you both
Thanks Jimmy!
Thanks for bringing us the next best thing to being back in Spain. We stayed in room 201...it’s the best!
This is the best yet , a toure of a real medieval town packed tight with good information . I watched it twice and still there is more , it reaches a lot of levels .
Glad you liked it Bob
amazing video, amazing city, amazing couple
Getting to see Spain through your eyes indulges me! Keep up the amazing videos ❤️
Will do!
Lovely :) I used to go there a lot so seeing this brought back nice memories ^^ and also learnt stuff. Glad to see you had a nice time
Hello everyone from Dublin , fantastic video again guys, what a beautiful place. Thank you. ☘️☘️
Espectacular!!!
My husband and I have spent the last 27 days touring historic Croatia, as well as their nature. We UNDERSTAND needing a siesta! Haha
totally!
What a delightful video tour of your visit. Great photography and narration. It was nice to see Yoly also contribute narration and surprise us with a Flamenco song, share another sometime. Another little gem to visit someday.
Fantastic episode! Will consider staying at the parador when traveling to Caceres and in the tower room 201.
Even when you’re going through a hard time you two are still joy to watch! Keep on truckin!
You've only going one life, right? Doing our best! Hope you're well Richard!
Spain Revealed lots of love!
How did the migas go Kirstin?
Wow! That was great. It was exciting to think about an american cocking migas for breaskfat, when is a strong food, very right to the anglos taste even. I really hope they liked them. Next time you could try "churros" or "tejeringos" with a warm cup of chocolate. Have a nice day.
Another great video tour! I will add Cáceres to my travel list. Thanks!!
I’m going to promote you on all my social networks. Your passion and your beautiful videos deserve it.
I love your videos! I’m a cacereña living abroad (in Italy) and I’m so glad you enjoyed my hometown!!! 😬
The place is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing
That means a lot Volodymyr! I love Michael Palin. Hope to see you today on the member's live stream!
Cheers Roger!
Ah yes, Neven. We shot that a few years back. Marta is great!
Thanks.
What a wonderful experience, definitely a place to visit. Thank you!
Extremadura.
I love these videos!
Really enjoyed Yali's singing.
Absolutely love your videos! I must visit when this pandemic is over!
What a wonderful city and what a wonderful video! Gracias!
Teneis que volver!! No subisteis a la montaña! Had I known you were coming... I would ha e told you. Thank you for such an amazing video of my city!!
