    Hello there from England. Just bought my first CBG and really getting into it. Stopped playing guitar about 20 years ago but this has got back into it. I'm loving your tutorials and this one, in particular, is really helping me to get some good noise going. Thanks a lot.

    Uncle Mark, love your approach to lessons and you take your time explaining chord shapes and tricks to the licks. I don't mind donating a few sheckles to help a fellow musician out. Your choice of lessons to teach are outstanding as well, classic songs every rocker should love and know how to play on 6 string as well as 3 string. Keep it up and rock on!

    Awesome! One of my all time favorite riffs that I've never been able to figure out on a three string. Now I just need to get the electronics to duplicate the sound. Thanks

      In these older videos I used a lot of different amps. That little micro can get you there with a little bit of tweaking. Cheers

      The guitar is built by Rob Wrobel in Destin Fl. you can find him on FB, Insta and Reverbdotcom. I've bought 3 from him..... these are true pro players instruments. I'm not sure of his pricing as of today.

    • @unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson
      @unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson  6 років тому +1

      I'm not sure; you could tune to open G, cut the E string off, a la Keith Richards, and give it a go..... or just look at a 6 string video or buy a 3 string. Buyer beware: not all 3s are the same and not all 3s play this good, jus sayin'

    Hi thanks for the great lesson. I can get all of it to sound right except the 12th fret part at the very beginning around the 1:41 mark. Am I supposed to strum all three strings as it looks like your thumb is doing something else to get the different sounds from the 12th fret. Thanks again.

    • @unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson
      @unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson  6 років тому +3

      at 1:55 I talk about hitting all 3 notes ( 12 fret GDg ). Some times I miss and hit just 2. It's pure accident and of course thats what makes things like this fun ( and helps live music breath ) is that you can miss and have it sound good anyway....lol. Thanks

    Hey Mark. Your CBG sounds awesome. What type of pickup is that in your guitar? I have a made an acoustic with a piezo pick up. Looking to build an electric next and really like the sound of yours.

    • @unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson
      @unclemarkscigarboxguitarlesson  6 років тому

      I have a Rob Wroble guitar with a Lace matchbook pickup. I use a 50's Valco spec tube amp and a all tube reverb unit and a earthquaker talons OD pedal and a Keeley Echo. Ive found you can mimic this setup using a roland cube using the Classic Rock channel with a little reverb dialed in.... If I was going the cheaper way that is what I would do, Lace pickup and Roland cube. Many thanks for your support.

      Uncle Mark's Cigar Box Guitar Lessons. Thanks. I have the Roland cube. I will look into the Lace matchbook pickup. Great lessons, you pile in so much more than just what notes play. Keep up the great work!!!!
