Great sound with that box you made, especially with the volume up and the overdriven tones . . . not excessive, but a superb growl. Magic stuff.
I’m cracking up. Starting a baby bed for the newest grandchild on the way. Then a sculpted rocker for me. I can see me on the back deck rocking my old tail out in my custom made chair playing Hendrix! Maybe sit on the deck at the lake house and serenade the fisherman as troll by. Now that’s a hoot no matter how you look at it.

I saw the bar chords, and thought Way Cool! I can do that! Then I saw the first alternate chords, and thought Challenging, so gonna need to work hard and practice... but can do! And then there were all the semi bars, Hendrix chords, etc and there I was, in the grocery store, paralyzed, staring at 18 kinds of canned peas... but seriously, amazing breakdown and great lesson! hey tunnel7 - thank you for the kind words mate. i don’t really have a favorite tuning necessarily. i tune to the instrument… if it’s a large scale instrument i like the lower tuning of EBE. if the action allows and i want to play slide i might tune up to GDG. if i’m learning or playing along with a song i might tune to match the pitch. i also like higher tunings for skinny strings and/or smaller scale instruments. i’m all over the map. have you seen my (5 alternative tunings) video? finally - a fee benefits of lower tunings are easier on the fingers, easier to bend, deeper tone, less stress on the neck, longer string life… yada yada yada 😎.
Hello Del, I'm not a guitar player. At 65 I'd love to build a cigar box 3 or 4 string guitar and learn to play Jazz standards. Have you got any ideas about how I should proceed? I love to sing and would love to be able to provide some accompaniment?
well im sure liking the ease phil your playing but im left handed , i made a couple of 3 3 string jobbies and seen u over the years , but cant play a toffee ,WHY NOT i havent got a clue till i seen how man ways you played HAY JOE ,whats the best way to start for one more go lol ,wll

You are the greatest CBG player on youtube but please tell me why you love EBE tuning when I have all mine GDg which seems to be the standard tuning.
