Yes.. and I mean yes! Bars and power chords on these three stringers are magic for the less musically inclined; whether it be through age or ability. And some of us who live in both those catagories desperately want to play. Hey Joe,.. where you goin with that guitar in your hand.
Excellent lesson, now I have to try it when I finish building my guitar.
Although I do have two left thumbs on my right hand, I really find the plucking difficult to grasp. This is a super good starting place. Thanks for Joe, Del!
You are one of the coolest 3 string cbg players on UA-cam. Keep rockin’ it, mr puckett!
That is a great video, Del. You’re an awesome spokesman and teacher of the cbg! You’re the best!
“Hey Del, where you goin' with that CBG in your hand?
Hey Del, I said, where you goin' with that CBG in your hand?”
Thanks for sharing, keep on Rockin DP!🔥🤘🏻🇺🇸
Now. That. Slaps! This lesson is right up there with your epic Collective Soul lesson... Major props Del.
Thanks for this Del, you are an inspiration to us novice cbg makers/players.
I've just finished my fourth build and I think I'm getting better at making them and thanks to you a bit better at playing too. I'm 68 and retired, a mans gotta have a hobby right.
Keep it up
Ill never forget back in the day i was at a rock club with a live band where i saw right a way a huge Marshall amp stack , and the lead man Played Hay Joe Blew me away
Del, boy you never cease to amaze me...
Thanks, nothing is better than a little Hendrix baby.
Excellent lesson 🤘🎶
Outstanding.
For a couple of years I followed your uploads and really enjoyed playing a CGB. Then life got in the way but now I'm about to start again.
Loved this upload and demo. Great sound with that box you made, especially with the volume up and the overdriven tones . . . not excessive, but a superb growl.
Magic stuff.
Hey Del! What a great lesson you got here
Hey Del! Hey Del! What a great Jam you got cookin’ here!
Thanks Del I like the easy one finger tunes! Cause I am limited.
That’s awesome Del. Going to definitely try this one out at my hill farm in West Wales 🏴🤟
This awesome! Thanks 👍🏻
Dude that kicks ass thanks man
I’m cracking up. Starting a baby bed for the newest grandchild on the way. Then a sculpted rocker for me.
I can see me on the back deck rocking my old tail out in my custom made chair playing Hendrix!
Maybe sit on the deck at the lake house and serenade the fisherman as troll by.
Now that’s a hoot no matter how you look at it.
Hey Del! Great Lesson Man!👍🎸
Fabulous. Love the guitar as well as music.
Brilliant lesson
Hi, it sounds awesome! What's the plastic hinged box that you used for the guitar please?
Cheers del, love it, this plays great on a cbg I built me self 💥👍
Great lesson Del! Thanks for the Jimmy Jam! Time to practice!😎👍🎶🎶
Man! I love this video !! Keep this going , more like this please!
😂Funny lesson. Very cool Riffs, thank you Del. Greetings from Germany ✌️🎸
Heeeey Del, where you going with that guit in your hand? Ba-na-na nah, nah nah!
Man, that open chord version added with that walking bass line and that "Hendrix chord"... I can't help but think that's how Jimmi would have played it if he played a CBG or we're still with us.
Great video, Del. Thanks!
Thank you ! So good to learn with you... 😉
I saw the bar chords, and thought Way Cool! I can do that! Then I saw the first alternate chords, and thought Challenging, so gonna need to work hard and practice... but can do! And then there were all the semi bars, Hendrix chords, etc and there I was, in the grocery store, paralyzed, staring at 18 kinds of canned peas... but seriously, amazing breakdown and great lesson! Thanks and blessings!
@@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar it was awesome, and packed full of goodies! So generous of you to share your talents!
Hey Del .... You played several Hendrix tunes in one of your vids from way back and I thought that was cool ... I will watch this again when I have my CBG to hand. Of course I can't find the damm video now. Don't suppose you remember which one it was?
You are the greatest CBG player on youtube but please tell me why you love EBE tuning when I have all mine GDg which seems to be the standard tuning.
hey tunnel7 - thank you for the kind words mate. i don’t really have a favorite tuning necessarily. i tune to the instrument… if it’s a large scale instrument i like the lower tuning of EBE. if the action allows and i want to play slide i might tune up to GDG. if i’m learning or playing along with a song i might tune to match the pitch. i also like higher tunings for skinny strings and/or smaller scale instruments. i’m all over the map. have you seen my (5 alternative tunings) video? finally - a fee benefits of lower tunings are easier on the fingers, easier to bend, deeper tone, less stress on the neck, longer string life… yada yada yada 😎.
🎵 Hey, you! Why did you drink Brake fluid, on UA-cam? If it was just you, I get it. But, you offered it to our doggyhound, too! 🎵
Fantastic
have you ever done COME TOGETHER beatles??? Nice job on this stuff.
Hey Del! Do you still play electric guitar? You were such an amazing player! Or are you strictly cigar box now?
truth is I dabble with just about anything... but 3 string is just so easy to JAM :-)
Ooooooo YESSSSSIR!
🎶 Hey, Joe, stop drinking brake fluid in front of me! 🎶.
Love it
Wow.....just......wow
Hello Del, I'm not a guitar player. At 65 I'd love to build a cigar box 3 or 4 string guitar and learn to play Jazz standards. Have you got any ideas about how I should proceed? I love to sing and would love to be able to provide some accompaniment?
you just need to jump into the waters… there are no rules… just inspirations 😀
what gauge strings do you use
The walking bass is my favorite
Bad Ass ... Respect to Bo Didley and Jimi Force of Nature ..48 Months on the scene
Hey Del, where're you walkin' with that bass in your hand? 🎵🎶
Hey, mister Puckett, 9 days waiting for you !... Are you OK ?... I miss you and your good demos and lessons ! 😉

My Friday night is now planned-
Home run Del..
Jimi would be smiling if he was behind you watching. Thank you.
I love your guitar. Where can I find one just like it?
You are having way too much fun Del… do some more great songs please.. It’s always good to find songs that work well on 3 string.. I’ll swap you when the levee breaks.. that works really well.. have fun,, gary
Can you play Texas Flood by the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan?
@@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar sick, i got the beginning down, but after that it's a lost cause for my part
Great! Grossartig 😅
🤙🏼🤙🏼
Does your boss know that you are spending all your time at work in the music room making youtube videos. Shhhh I won't tell.
Hey Del, thanks for the reminder that you are the one and only, unique original Mr. Puckett, sir. I appreciate you and I know that I'll never be you so I will be the best me that I can. Thank you.
...but yes,I am inspired to aspire but I may perspire on the way to achievement.
