    I’ve heard they’re very good for cleaning built up dried on grass from under your mower deck.

    I just ordered a needle scaler but I'm unsure where it will fit into the pantheon of wire-wheel, pressure washer, sand-blaster, etc...

    I use one at a tire shop. For really rusty agricultural wheels, there is no tool better. Make sure you use your PPE, they are very loud, especially when used on a bare rim.

    Great tool… saw your newest video about applications for the scaler. Shocking folks fail to understand why or where you would use one.

    I think sandblasting will give you the right result. That rust still there.

      Not sure that would be the tool for this job. There were some massive chunks taken off by this tool which would have either taken ages with a sand blaster, or would eat away the material around it too quickly.
      Now it's been needled, it's in a perfect condition for sandblasting.

    Wouldn't a wire wheel be more efficient ?

    •  Рік тому

      When you have really bad, flaky rust, a wire wheel is not that good. A scaler like that will pound the rust flakes off. I don't have one, so I have had to do with a hammer and a chisel...

    This demo didn’t seem the best for rust removal - that rim is deeply pitted.
    Was hoping to find discussion on the different types of scalers and different methods to remove/clean rust then surface prep

    • @oo0Spyder0oo
      @oo0Spyder0oo 10 місяців тому

      No this won’t go beyond crusty stuff, once you get to surface rust you need to wire wheel, grind or use rust converters.

    So, Chicago doesn't mean Harbor Freight. Chicago isn't central, and most importantly, Taiwan is not China. I feel like that last one is worth repeating. Taiwan is not part of China!!!!!

      @@sallybrokaw6124 the video guy thinks practically every person/company is a scam... UNLESS he actually buys something that he believes works perfectly.
      Both my dad and I have bought numerous tools from Harbor Freight over the years. And we have NEVER had issues with anything that we bought.
      And on our farm, EVERYTHING gets worked hard.
      So, I only watch this guy's videos for entertainment.😁

    Such a useless tool, it removes flaked rust. It doesn't actually remove rust.

    • @theaussienurseflipper.8113
      @theaussienurseflipper.8113 16 днів тому

      You only need the flake removed and then you use some phosphoric acid mixed with 20% alcohol sprayed on and leave it 24 hours and then paint straight over, it very cheap
