People have made me feel like I’m crazy for not just being the technician (pastry chef) but I’ve always wanted to work on the business and grow it (more of a visionary). So this book and your video really helped me know I’m not crazy! My business is a luxury African fusion patisserie and my biggest struggle is funding to get the MVP finished and ready to take to the next step.
Yes! I kept being frustrated by advice directed at technicians, but I suppose that is most people wanting to go into small biz. I think I'm more strongly manager than most, although my weakness would probably be entrepreneur.
Small business owner from Sweden here. Been following you since before my business, really like these book clubs. I like these things with systems and of i implement it in my business it Will help alot. I have problem with fitting all i have to do in my week. Warm outreach, content, improving content, collage, life etc. Keep up the Good work man!
it is a 2004 book; 1st published in 1995 always thought tt it may have lost its relevance but wow, did not know it is still so relevant! many thanks for the summary!
Single biggest struggle? Keep myself accountable, keep showing up no matter how low I feel. I'm a visual artist and I'm interested in applying this techniques to the "growing on the art bussiness" field, not just selling but also been part of this bigger thing, the Art World and I want to see how can I apply your principles. Thanks Ali
I finished reading E-myth yesterday and your video popped up! I started my immigration law firm 11 yrs ago - I am a solo attorney with a team of 4 located in US, Argentina, Bahrain, and India. The E-myth has unlocked a passion I didnt know I had. I wake up excited to work on the business. My clients are global and so is my team. Later this month, I plan to take a 3 day solo retreat to codify the SOP, from onboarding, opening cases, intakes and several other processes. What are some basics of an SOP? Should SOP be in writing, video or image form? What tools arw available to help create SOP in a way that is easy to follow? Looking forward to your offerings in this space!
I am starting a time-management and goal setting coaching service and am currently in the planning stage. I am a music teacher teaching guitar, bass, ukulele, and drums, and I want to expand and do more. I teach a range of students from primary/high school kids to business owners and CEOs, and I realised I have a passion for helping people achieve their goals and manage their time. After watching your videos for the last year now, I have learnt so much and am very excited to start this next chapter of life! Also, my partner got me Feel Good Productivity for my birthday last weekend! I listened to the audiobook earlier this year, and I have been really enjoying reading it again in physical form!
I'm not an entrepeneur and still your business yt videos teach me so much. I'm a student studying biology and I'm always looking for tips to manage my life beyond time Management tips. I believe there's an easier way. The video resonated with me because i was experimenting with protocols in my life (like SOPs ) and surprisingly I found myself to manage a lot more life areas like uni, friends and fam, travel, a few hobbies and health and still find myself lying in bed watching yt without feeling guilty. So thanks for the new perspective!
Hi Ali. Great Video!! The business question’s answer on my single biggest struggle: (assuming all else is set): Cash flow management & formulas to see quickly how business is going. The other one that directly connects with this is living below your means. These two-three things combine into one: my single biggest struggle focusing on cash flow management with quick formulas while living below means. I would love to see business videos. I think there is a super high demand for it right now. Blessings
I’m a purely educational content creator, so it’s always a bit difficult to adapt business advice to my content creation business. I’d love to see more advice focused specifically at educational creators!
I agree. I believe in the near future there will be a movement to not support AI generated images. Mad respect for Ali though. Changed my life. Thank you to Ali and the Team. Please continue doing what you do! @aliabdaal
the problem ive had with my businesses is finding a person who shares my vision and sees what I see. lets say I have a clothing business, I want someone who can run it for even a few days in my business. great video Ali, thank you.
I hate to suggest it because my favorite type of videos are book reviews/main takeaways… but researching tools is what takes up so much of my time (and making those purchasing decisions)😭 content creation tools, automation services, point of sale, cameras, mics, laptops, tablets, design tools … there are so many decisions to make 😅
I’d love to know the exact step by step for creating a business; like the “SOP” of creating a business. Personally I’m also afraid of all the legal stuff. Like I can make a video, but then if it get monetise, I need to create a company? How does that work? I?m afraid of creating legally a company, taxes for company etc…. And that holds me back. SO yeah, a masterclass on how to start from zero a bussiness, maybe a great video idea would be to do a video similar to mark Manson where you start a business from zero or you help a subscriber to zero and move from there, like a short video series on the development of “Sara’s bakery”. I think that would be a great idea, ideas are great, but as you know the courses are very technical and specific and concrete, an example has pros that an argument hasn’t. That clarity and precision would be great!
I used to have that problem as well: wanting to thing everything out before taking the first step. The thing is: every step you take will open up the “fog of war” and you’ll be able to figure out the next few steps. Don’t over complicate things before you even start. As they say “we’ll cross the bridge when we get there”. PS - you don’t necessarily need to create a company once you start monetizing. It just might be more tax efficient. And it takes A LOT of work to monetize. So you’ll be ready by then
Love this video, Ali! I've heard about this book so many times but haven't read it myself. I need to get my hands on the book and actually read it. To answer your question, though, the biggest struggle is mindset. I think I'm too close to the business, and I feel like everything that happens or doesn't happen to the business is a reflection of me as a person. So, learning to separate 'me' from 'the business' has been at the top of my mind and is a moment-to-moment practice.
Great video! This book was such a gamechanger for me and my business. How do you personally think through creating a process for your business? Do you start at the end result you want and reverse engineer it? Start with a hypothesis and adjust overtime?
I have a small business producing storytelling-podcasts (solo). Biggest struggle is finding out when to hire my first employee, how much financial risk I will take with that and if I like ‘managing’ instead of doing the creative work myself.
I'm a Pediatrician entrepreneur. Starting an online presence. I like the business aspect of this video. Starting a small business. We have our own practice. Now, I'm benching out bc I want to help more people. So yes, please more business videos like this one for the small business owner, entrepreneur & newbie online. Thanks!
One of my many obstacles is actually growing the business, how do i survive financially from working full time and a steady paycheck to full time business? How can i define my business (without getting lost in all the things i am interested in)? And how to reestablish the business in a bigger city? All these questions have been floating in mind and the answers i get are usually chaotic. I apologise if this isn’t feasible feedback. I will make sure to read the e myth book. Thank you so much for your awesome videos!!
I just rented out my own space to build my business as a solo esthetician. my focus is on providing korean skincare treatments to my community. kbeauty is a rising market and I'm only of very few clinic in my area honed in on this. I would say the biggest challenge is finding clients willing to pay for your service in a very competitive and price war industry.
Pick a person you want to serve, speak to their reasons and benefits for them wanting to come to you, attract and market better and build a strong brand which will make what you charge not relevant for comparison to others.
what makes your youtube channel addictive to watch is your teaching style...seems you have found your love of teaching again on it I'm an artist, and I want to be a technician...and entrepreneur but not the manager..i thought a youtube channel would be the answer but i dont like following a consistent schedule...i kind of just want to do what i want to do and then money flows in
Great video. My main struggle in starting a business is finding clients, but I think you’ve touched on this. I think it’d be helpful to learn about some of the stories from your team members on how to be successful in a supporting role (eg, not the face of the business.) Thanks to the whole team for the good work you’re doing!!
Just reading the book now, started my UA-cam channel seven mouths ago and been listening and watching your content for the past year. Such perfect timing. Thank you for the video.
The value that you deliver in this video is absolutely amazing. Please never stop. Even though there may be a smaller audience, we’re benefitting at such a high percentage.
Ali, this is the type of content & courses I want from you ! I'm interested about business, not productivity. Instead of Matt gray's personal branding course, I rather do this course from you & learn how to go from a programmer to a handling a proper business. I suffer from hesitation & lack of clarity the most.
Loved the summary of the book. Will have to go read the whole thing and digest the ideas fully. My main sticking point is the innertia to get started and fear of failure/success
I'm an Accountant and I knew there was a big opportunity for me, so I started my business this year helping small businesses owners with their Bookkeeping and Taxes. For me the struggles would be on finding the right people to eventually do what I'm doing now. Thanks Ali!!
It's been years since I read this book, but the fact that I remembered so many of the points indicates how well it's laid out. Going to re-read it again this month because of this video!
Embracing tools like automation software can really help streamline operations, allowing you to focus more on your passion and less on the mundane tasks that come with running a business.
Having a big vision also means to have a bigger vessel to accept money coming in. Most of us small business or small creators fear of investing more money into our ventures thinking it will be a waste but money brings money. Rewiring these limiting beliefs really helps to attract wealth
I run an industrial water plant full time and own 2 small businesses; 1- self serve car wash 2- commercial vineyard for wine My biggest hurdle is how to afford help, even part-time. I know it needs to be done, but the 1st year of labor cost with current wages is such a jump that it would be like taking 3 steps back. It’s almost as big of a faith based gamble as buying/starting the business itself. I’m interested in this topic. Thanks for the great video
Great video. I will definitely have to pick this one up. I run a MMA gym and my biggest hurdles have been staffing and trusting people to run my classes. Not that I don't trust the people specifically, just the way they teach is may not be the way I do it. I feel the system section of the book may help with this.
They all need to do the same (you instruct them for a month or so), but it is essential they have different personalities... I can only train and have business with serious, quiet and grounded people, my friends want funny and loud ones)😊
Another great video! My largest struggle would be transitioning from a technician and niching down. I currently do design, video and photo and am pretty evenly dispersed between the three. These all require my time but I know I'm capped at how much I can do. The obvious next step would be hiring but in the past this has been more work than it has been helpful. I would like to create something that uses these skills in some fashion but does not monopolize my time.
I'm in the process of starting my own business now actually. I picked up the E-myth after it was referenced in a small business accounting book that I am reading. The concept of working on the business , not in it, is important for me to hear. My biggest struggle apart from legal hurdles is making moves quicker and not delaying starting things because I feel I need to read and prepare more, it is an elegant form of procrastination. I should have started this a year ago.
on growing businesses - i would love for you to talk about not only meeting a customer need, but understanding what product to build for that need. for ex - what pushed you to start UA-camr Academy vs. all of the other topics you talk about, like productivity and the like? How do your prioritize your focus and current "build"? Is it passion? Do you vote amongst your employees? Anything around decision making would help! Thank you Ali! :)
I am a physiotherapist (from France) and I work in the same practice as my mother. By next year, I should take over the practice in my name. Currently, there are three physiotherapists and one chiropractor, and I would like to develop the practice to attract more clients, allowing me to generate better revenue without compromising the quality of care. Most importantly, I need to find a way to recruit one or two people when my mother retires. If I were to think big, the idea of opening multiple practices with several physiotherapists working in them would be a significant step towards financial independence and might allow me to have more free time to think about the next steps.
This is also one of my favorite books. I started with a solo accounting practice and have since scaled to managing multiple firms. This book has provided invaluable insights along the way. Thank you for sharing 😊
My issue with the whole ''success'' videos, is that everyone knows that people are a product of their environment. And yet, successful people NEVER talk about their environment. Ali is a Doctor of Medicine because his mom is one and he grew up in an environment where everyone was a Doctor. He simply imitated his environment. The same way children of pro-athletes become pro athletes themselves. It's what humans do. We unconsciously absorb and copy our surroundings. IF you want to be successful, you need the CREATE the ENVIRONMENTS that created successful people.
@Cambodianriverpig7613 I do agree on this but unless you have abusive parents I don't think the parents are the ones holding you back, and you are talking about medicine when this video or even broadly Ali's success is based on his UA-cam and his business. No offence here you have your point too but but just think about it.
@@Samarth-k6g I'm not talking about abusive parents. As a child, you absorb the EXPECTATIONS of your environment. That is, with the correct environment, you develop the right identity early on that sets you up for success. If Ali parents were uneducated and poor farmers in Pakistan, guess what? Ali wouldn't be here today. IF you want to be successful, you first need to be in the same EMOTIONAL state as successful people. And that emotional state/identity is from their childhood environment/experiences.
@@cambodianriverpig7613 Clearly there's so much that makes up the path of anyone's life. Find inspiration where you can find it, but always keep in mind that when successful people describe their success you are getting selection bias. Someone who has succeeded has succeeded, but that doesn't mean that what they think led to their success was why. You might find a hundred other people who took similar steps but failed. That doesn't mean the advice is worthless, it just means ultimately you have to evaluate things for yourself and choose. It does not mean you will also succeed either. But better to have tried!
@@cambodianriverpig7613 Agreed, but how can you just say that if Ali's parents were poor he wouldn't have turned out like this. We never know and perhaps will never know. The environment does matter and if it's bad you've got to change it.
@@Samarth-k6g Because I've studied the life of successful people and I found a pattern. In most cases, I found that successful people sit on the shoulders of at least 2 relatively successful generations (parents, grandparents, uncles etc). The idea that people become great out of nowhere is simply a myth. It's about what you have exposure for and what you think is possible for you. And that boils down to who you have access to early on in life, the kind of experiences you have and the kind of information you are exposed to. And ALL of those factors are based on your environment/family.
What stood out to me was how he distinguishes between the roles of entrepreneur, manager, and technician, and how balancing these roles is critical for success. It’s an eye-opener, especially if you’ve been too caught up in the day-to-day grind!
This has to be the best video you have ever done Ali, because it answers a very important concept, which is the idea of making a business out of your passion. This concept, which seems to be what everyone in society are prompting as the ultimate success, yet no one discuss the reality of what it really means or look like. This is probably the reason why I'm not interested in starting a business as an artist, I love art making so much, but couldn't care less about the customers needs, art is a very selfish thing that I enjoy doing. I'm the technician in this case, never the manager nor the entrepreneur, which is ok, because just like the book says its just not for everyone. Your explanation of this book in a very easy, short, understandable way, was so useful Ali, thank you.
Why? Is it because of the principle of it or because you consider the images objectively bad? If it was revealed that it was hand illustrated would that change your opinion? If so, why?
Wow, I have never heard of SOP before, but now everything clicked! My biggest hurdle yet was that I didn‘t have the headspace and time to think about starting something of my own because of all the stuff I did for university. And admittedly, I didn‘t want to sacrifice my entire free time work again. After long consideration though, I paused uni and it feels great to do something on my own for the first time
Okey, that triple threat part really motivated me, I’m starting a business soon, and I’m all 3 of them, I am a business developer in chore, I love sales and finding ways to sell anything and i enjoy managing people, finances, administration, I’m still a bit scared of course but this really boosted me! Thank you for this simple yet very very instructive video 🙏🏻
I started an at home baking business this year. My top sellers are sourdough breads and brioche cinnamon rolls. At the moment I feel my biggest challenge is getting weekly customers so I guess marketing. During the summer we had a local farmers market where I engaged with anyone that would even look at me when I said hi and always offer a free sample. That all went very well but the transition to home sales feels like it’s become a different business than the farmers market. This video was so very helpful. I definitely need to spend more time being the manager. Thank you for opening my eyes to this.
I loved how you simplified and broke down the main ideas of the book! Right on point and such a massive shift in how people usually think of a business 👍🏽
I am a restaurant owner and my current goal is to lift myself out of my current working in the business to working on the next stage of development. Goal is to have this completed by January 2025. Last week I wrote down every task I did daily. Next step is to see who is going to take this over in my team or do I need to hiring.
Hi Ali. First I just wanted to say thank you! I have learned so much from you. You are a true hero! I am a small business owner (hairdresser). My problem is stability. My brand grew a lot over the last year and keeps on growing. Most months I am quite happy with the money I make and it is enough to pay all my expenses and reinvest into the brand. However, there are always quiet times which give me time to work on the brand and advertise. However, these times can be quite challenging as at the back of my mind I will be worried about paying my bills etc.
I believe that I can build a business, but what stopped me was more internal. Which I’ve had to do a lot of inner work on worthiness. Now I’ve started doing UA-cams & have several others prepped to go 😊 This was super helpful for me as I’m just getting started. Thank you
Great recap of the book! As a small business owner, I would love your insights into hiring/building/managing your team. Things can go really well when you've got a great team, but finding the right people is really challenging.
One of the things I enjoy most about you is your ability to take a topic that many of us struggle with - and being a solo-preneur is very emotional and solitary territory for many of us - and bringing clarity, insights, and logic to it. I often come away feeling like "why didn't I understand this before, on my own?" But often the passion for what we do as creatives blinds us to the areas where we have weaknesses and we just hope we will grow into those and get better in those areas by the act of doing. As you (and the E-myth book) point out, it's rarely the case. Thank you, Ali, for making sense of it all for us - as only you can. That's a gift.
I have a small business where I make and sell courses and give live classes online to O and A level students. Problem is the whole thing is built around me and as you’d know in that kind of situation it’s difficult to scale and manage online teaching along with making UA-cam videos. Having said all that I’m grateful for where I’ve come but I want to keep on improving and taking on new challenges so that I keep enjoying it and stay on my toes
My biggest struggle with running my business is finding the time in between working a full-time job and studying for my master's degree. I think my biggest takeaway from this, is going to be learning how to build processes and trusting the people around me to deliver on what I need. Thank you Ali for this video. I'll come back to this comment if God willing, I make it big :).
Pacing myself due to chronic pain and illnesses and fatigue. I have many more ideas than I can imagine completing. And yet, I’m willing to give it a try and figure out how to make it a business that makes these ideas reality for others to enjoy.
Thanks, Ali! I love that you are also branching into health and business along with productivity. I would love the fundamental financial key indicators we should track as a small business owner, E.g. cash flow, opex, etc. Also, metrics that are leading controllable inputs vs uncontrollable lagging output.
Great video and a very real challenge I'm facing, I'm a freelance designer after a 10 year career in a design studio. Currently I'm working for brands like Adobe, Makers Mark, El Jimador and Bose, but I'm also doing work for local businesses where I live. The past 6 months have been 12-14 hour days trying to stay on top of things. Watching this I think I want to talk to someone who understands business and knows how to help me grow, because burnout is already onset - thanks for the insights Ali
Great video. I don't mind the riffing not using a script. It feels more natural like life. One of the things I run into with my startup business which is drones and virtual tours, is onboarding a salesperson. I'm definitely a technician and entrepreneur but I get in the weeds, bored and overwhelmed by managerial tasks.
I'm still very early in where I want to be and starting a business, but I've love the genuine and holistic nature of your content. These aren't do this one thing for success, but really summarizing and packaging the tools you need to succeed in a variety of things. In my field there are tons of technical challenges, but I've begun to see how most of the time the technical challenges are often the "easiest" especially when you're the technician. Many of the things in this video give insight into that. I've watched some of the videos on non-business things, but I really like the book club series. I'm really bad at sourcing books sometimes and so this is a great way to get an idea of what something is and maybe my next read!
Really Loved the video! Regarding your question about my biggest struggle, I would say there are two: First, building a team. As a solopreneur, it’s always challenging to bring new people on board. Second, I have 2-3 really good ideas, but how do I choose the one that’s truly great and focus all my energy on making that idea a reality?
I love your passion and the clips in your video that aren’t “perfect” make it so real. I’m realizing things that I would have edited out are so good. This is making me look at editing from a different perspective. Thank you Ali for sharing your passion and knowledge. I appreciate you. 🌻🌻🌻
The single biggest struggle for starting a business is that you have to do everything yourself in the beginning. Because you don't have the resources to outsource. The technical work of different types (technician). The coordination between them (manager). And the creative vision and strategy thinking (entrepreneur). Doing the later by increasing your knowledge and learning more about business, economics, IT and humans in general. This is the biggest struggle, Ali.
I really loved this video, it's been great to see someone give a honest and simple to understand review on this book. I think my single biggest struggle is making content which attracts others. Thanks for this summary!
I have been in biz for myself for over 20 years. And I'm good at the admin/management but I found the best biz to run for a solo was careers that didn't require too much management. Stuff that has repeating clients is my favorite. Marketing takes too much time and or expense for a biz that isn't something people really want. I had a small cleaning biz for 20+ years and it was 5he same people, same schedule, same pay every month.
Hey Ali ,Great work . Loved the Summary. I am not an entrepreneur but was thinking to start a business. It gave me much clarity on which area I am lacking. Thanks .
Great content. As an entrepreneur of 25+ years, I can definitely relate to the mistakes. For far too long, I was the owner of a job and not a business. To this day, I need to be careful not to slip back into that trap. Keep up the good work!
i'm an illustrator and want to do it full time - I wonder if this really constitutes as a "small business" however. I often get stuck in technician mode because that's the most fun - that's the pie making. But I've also been trying to pitch work to companies, and try to find ways to make more "marketable" art, manage priorities etc. But I feel like I don't want to systemize and outsource my illustrations - to make my own product line - etc... I feel like we compared Pixar and Mcdonalds - but those are neither of my aspirations, and in the case of Pixar a lot of animators get discouraged by the lack of personal creativity... Can't we also aspire to be small SMALL entrepreneurs that make authentic work? Yes, the payoff may be smaller - but isn't there value in the craftsmanship as well? In the thing that is "us?" I still am figuring out how to be the manager and entrepreneur and I am happy to take on that work as well - but the idea that we all want to become huge teams that basically turn out "products" isn't what I see for myself.
@@AFRIDAIRENA i think it's personal but it's also cultural too - I'm from the US and we're the country of capitalism, industry, and more is better. But personally with AI and lack of quality in our mass-produced products I think people with the means will gravitate toward more handmade, artisan, personal work. Because we are human and like stories. I live in Japan now and craftsmanship is considered an art form. There's of course the mass produced stuff too - but special crafts, histories, stories, I feel are more protected and respected. I also follow a youtuber called Uncomfy and she makes things from clay - if she outsourced the process of making I think people would lose their love for her pieces. So, Ali is describing one way to run a business, but I think it lacks so much humanity.
@@HannahMorenDraws yaa i understand your point! I have also seen uncomfy videos on youtube and i got inspired from her small business and she also made a video about how her story and real footage of her making clay helps her grow her business. I also believed that a story behind business whether it can be personal or anyone inspire people more and help them connect more with the entrepreneur. we are really same (as a human), we love story indeed.
@@AFRIDAIRENA wow we are totally on the same youtube wavelength / brain space. Thanks for replying and helping me feel like I'm not the only one that thinks some of this biz advice is kind of... limiting? not the best...? missing the bigger picture? (like what it means to be a human in this world?)
@@HannahMorenDraws yap,, i also think that (myb i am wrong) bt men and women handle business from different mindset 🌀 ( as men and women have different energy and way of thinking and relating with people)
Single biggest struggle with the idea of growing my business: the idea of managing people. Random other thought: Would love to hear more about Make from your perspective.
Love this video! Make more videos for growing small business and book recommendations. I've been watching your videos for years and have introduced you to friends. Great work!
I am 17, starting to think about which type of work I would be doing in future. I am quite interested in understanding history and its relationship to our modern era, which philosophies were prevalent at which time and stuff. Though I have no idea what can my business be about, I do think I need more time and self-reflection to understand. I will read the book Ali and it might help in one way or the other as ur advice is genuinely especially ur advice on how to retain information for a longer period of time. And of course the study tips and techniques are really helpful Thanks
History and philosophy makes me think of book authoring or teaching. If there was a duplicate of you with a business, why would you pay that person £500? You might buy ten books or take a course. Why would you buy those books or that course? It might be that all of this is a fantasy that will never go anywhere despite it being a hobby. Ali's book review was about being hard headed. Don't open a bakery just because you like baking.
To answer Ali’s last couple of questions in the video, I struggle to be the technician! I develop a lot of strategies and plans for the future for my Etsy shop (planning youtube videos and shorts to promote myself as a figure, and myself as an artist) but I only have 6 listings on Etsy after a year because I’m still trying to figure out a system to create art
Thank you for the video. I’m glad I get to watch it as I going through the struggles you described. To answer your question the thing that I’m struggling the most with is getting consistent results. Although I feel like I’m working on systems and processes.
I'm currently looking at starting a business myself. About to test the viability of my first product. I do however ask myself how to best get any publicity out to people. Reaching a target audience trough the best channel(s) is something I don't know how to tackle.
Really enjoyed this video. I started this book but somewhere along the way abandoned it for another book. I'm going to get back to reading it now! I'm definitely somewhere between infant and adolsecent. I realize I need to get help to grow my newsletter, but I've been resistant. I am the classic "technician" who needs to get with the program and face the music.
Hi Ali, my single biggest struggle on starting a business is not believing that it'll work out and I'll end up struggling financially instead. But I guess that's my own issue and I'll ned to get past it one day.
Hi there Ali, i really enjoyed and learnt a lot from this video. I have been following and watching your videos for almost 3 years now since i first joined Medical School which helped me in studying, retaining and remembering all the knowledge i learnt from my lectures; the evidenced based study guides really helped me a lot. Thank you so much for that. So currently i got work and i do save a minimum of 200USD per month with a plan of starting an agriculture business by next year. I think this video has really help me to do more and start the journey and quit my current job as a Pharmacy Assistant. As soon i start the business i will take videos of it and post on UA-cam everyday to share the knowledge, skills and encourage others to also start anything that they are passionate about. Thank you so much for your videos always.
Thank you a lot for this input! It clicked me, as a small business owner who is actually the business technician… I would love to be blessed with more videos in this matter. Also, I didn’t know the that book, thank you a lot!
it is a 2004 book; 1st published in 1995 always thought tt it may have lost its relevance but wow, did not know it is still so relevant! many thanks for the summary!
This is interesting. I read this book when you first mentioned it, brought it on vacation, and I felt it gave nothing new that isn’t out there already. I am glad it was meaningful to you and that you were able to use it. Some books speak more to some than to others.
Ali, thank you! Super excited to read this book. I thought I was going mad spreading myself so thin doing all sorts of things for the business to the point I got burnt out. It's good to know that I'm supposed to be in three different roles in one. You asked for my biggest struggle in running a business, it's discipline without getting burnt out. You see I can wake up at 6am and work until 8pm at night, but in truth, I don't see how sustainable that is. Personally, I get burnt out, and my recovery period is far longer than I'd like it to be. I guess my question is how do we discipline ourselves in a way that 1. is sustainable for long periods, 2. master our own circadian rhythm to match that need to grow our business and 3. enjoy the process.
Thank you so much. I have just started my you tube business and I was going the wrong direction, Just making the pies that I like. I think you saved me.❤
this is a good supplement to the other video when you said that a business can cater to multiple clients - where in fact a business has indeed three roles to begin with.

As a pastry chef/chocolate maker my self I understand your conundrum.
If people are telling you that you are crazy, that's how you know you are on to something. Keep going. You got this!
@@theregisteredindependent You are speaking to me!!!! Thank you so much!!
Small business owner from Sweden here. Been following you since before my business, really like these book clubs. I like these things with systems and of i implement it in my business it Will help alot. I have problem with fitting all i have to do in my week. Warm outreach, content, improving content, collage, life etc. Keep up the Good work man!

always thought tt it may have lost its relevance but wow, did not know it is still so relevant!
many thanks for the summary!
Thanks Ali
It’s hard, especially when you have other things in life pop up and nobody is there to keep you going
@monahimani Hello, How are you ?
Did you find any answers to your questions?
I was too, but had to find a niche,,,learning which can be monetised..and personal finance as well.
Feedback for the video: The AI generated images are not it. They are overused in all digital spaces, but they just look cheap.
Agree. Cut the slop. It's not needed to help the story.
Agree. Please remove them.
Agreed. It somehow takes away from the content instead of adding to it
I agree. I believe in the near future there will be a movement to not support AI generated images. Mad respect for Ali though. Changed my life. Thank you to Ali and the Team. Please continue doing what you do! @aliabdaal
Exactly my thoughts! Loved the video but hated the visuals. It takes away from your own imagination too.
the problem ive had with my businesses is finding a person who shares my vision and sees what I see. lets say I have a clothing business, I want someone who can run it for even a few days in my business. great video Ali, thank you.
You leave us with no questions after I have been following you for one year you always give me answers before even i wonder ❤
I have a small business producing storytelling-podcasts (solo). Biggest struggle is finding out when to hire my first employee, how much financial risk I will take with that and if I like ‘managing’ instead of doing the creative work myself.
Does it have to be an employee? Have you considered hiring a person for a project to see how it works out?
HELLO
Exactly the same questions that I have after to finish this video
I just rented out my own space to build my business as a solo esthetician. my focus is on providing korean skincare treatments to my community. kbeauty is a rising market and I'm only of very few clinic in my area honed in on this.

I love when you make this type of analysis videos from books, truly engaging. Thanks Ali 🙏🏻

I ve been running a service business for over 15 years and getting ready to scale this book provided a good summary of what is needed. Thanks!
This book is great but it only covers the surface. Find banned book Untold Business Masterclass if you really want to become a millionaire..
It's been years since I read this book, but the fact that I remembered so many of the points indicates how well it's laid out. Going to re-read it again this month because of this video!
Embracing tools like automation software can really help streamline operations, allowing you to focus more on your passion and less on the mundane tasks that come with running a business.
exactly! with AI handling the mundane stuff like managing and entrepreneur, we are free to do the fun stuff.
exactly! AI will replace entrepreneur and managers.
I can't believe you gave a huge treasure of knowledge under 22 min. I recommend you and Hormozi to any aspiring entrepreneur...
Having a big vision also means to have a bigger vessel to accept money coming in. Most of us small business or small creators fear of investing more money into our ventures thinking it will be a waste but money brings money. Rewiring these limiting beliefs really helps to attract wealth
I run an industrial water plant full time and own 2 small businesses; 1- self serve car wash
2- commercial vineyard for wine
My biggest hurdle is how to afford help, even part-time. I know it needs to be done, but the 1st year of labor cost with current wages is such a jump that it would be like taking 3 steps back. It’s almost as big of a faith based gamble as buying/starting the business itself. I’m interested in this topic. Thanks for the great video
Hello Nick, How are you ?

Hello Miller , How are you ?
I hate the AI images
I Also 😊
Terrible
There is an island for you for all those people that hate, but there is a world of people embracing the future, just like this UA-camr
AI images are certainly not "a labor of love". Better an imperfect self made drawing, than an automated so called "perfect" AI image
Why? Is it because of the principle of it or because you consider the images objectively bad?
If it was revealed that it was hand illustrated would that change your opinion? If so, why?
My biggest struggle is to find out where to actually start. There are so many ideas. Will definetly get this book, thanks for the recommendation!
You start with what you are good at and where the money is.

I'm a coach and my struggle is the business development part. Putting myself out there and letting people know about my services.
Ali, in response to your question: Infancy to Adolescence is the biggest hurdle right now. Great video.
Btw I love the background music. I used to have hard time listening to you talking SO fast but with a calm music it balances out the energy 🦭
Second, I have 2-3 really good ideas, but how do I choose the one that’s truly great and focus all my energy on making that idea a reality?
what's challenging about bringing new people on board?
Try reading The Million Dollar Weekend. It'll answer your question
Content creator here. Been struggling to get out of the infancy stage, especially with big life changes like having a baby last year.
Thanks .
I rave about this book to my audience all the time. It really shifts your mindset on business and is one of the best books to read on your journey.
Yes i also think in the same way. I think this is personal preference...
@@HannahMorenDraws yap,, i also think that (myb i am wrong) bt men and women handle business from different mindset 🌀 ( as men and women have different energy and way of thinking and relating with people)
I hope we can get more details about the three key element of successful business entrepreneur, manager, and technicians
The book might give deeper insights….
And of course the study tips and techniques are really helpful
Thanks
History and philosophy makes me think of book authoring or teaching. If there was a duplicate of you with a business, why would you pay that person £500? You might buy ten books or take a course. Why would you buy those books or that course? It might be that all of this is a fantasy that will never go anywhere despite it being a hobby. Ali's book review was about being hard headed. Don't open a bakery just because you like baking.
I listened to that book in 2010 and I failed to understand it😅😅... But Ali has nailed it... Thank you boss
I needed this so much. Even though I've read the summary of this in the past, it still is fresh and reminded me what I need to not do
Thank you for the video. I’m glad I get to watch it as I going through the struggles you described. To answer your question the thing that I’m struggling the most with is getting consistent results. Although I feel like I’m working on systems and processes.
This was an incredible summary. I look forward to seeing more in the future thank you so much.
Great video. Share tips on how to manage people, how to push people under you to do work without feeling cringy about it. That would definitely help.
Hi Ali, my single biggest struggle on starting a business is not believing that it'll work out and I'll end up struggling financially instead. But I guess that's my own issue and I'll ned to get past it one day.
Current early business goal: Getting first customers / sales. Thank you for amazing content !
Just finished listening to it. Wow! I learnt a lot! If you like MJ De Marco's work, I think you'll 100% like this book!
it is a 2004 book; 1st published in 1995
always thought tt it may have lost its relevance but wow, did not know it is still so relevant!
many thanks for the summary!
I guess my question is how do we discipline ourselves in a way that
1. is sustainable for long periods,
2. master our own circadian rhythm to match that need to grow our business and
3. enjoy the process.
Thank you so much. I have just started my you tube business and I was going the wrong direction, Just making the pies that I like. I think you saved me.❤
this is a good supplement to the other video when you said that a business can cater to multiple clients - where in fact a business has indeed three roles to begin with.
