I'm 63 years old and have been crafting, thrifting and selling since I was a teenager. I love having someone buy something I have crafted or thrifted and knowing they have a piece of me in their home is priceless. All of my end tables in my home I have chalk painted myself. I've been junking or thrifting since I was young. My Mom would take my sister and I with her as she hunted for more peices of her grandmother's china and depression glass patterns. I collected salt cellars and my sister collected tea cups. So much fun and great memories.
I love upcycling items to use in my home. Vintage things have so much more character than something you just buy off the shelf and give your home a unique style.

I love thrifting for several reasons. I love repurposing things-dishes, furniture, home decor, etc. I also love it because it is like therapy to me-the memories and nostalgia are feelings that cannot be bought. It is a new experience every time I go.
I have always loved old things because when I was little I played in my dad’s attic and my grandma’s cellar . Finding new uses for old things is a joy to me and a cheaper way to decorate. Thrifting and crafting has been something dear to me since I was a child watching my grandmother turn trash to treasure. She was able to reuse, remake, upcycle, recycle anything. I always feel close to her when I am crafting. I finally just started my own booth in a craft mall and tomorrow is opening day! I love the inspiration I get from you and channels like yours!

I have been thrifting for 35 years and decorating my 1917 farmhouse with my finds. I am happy that so many have found thrifting as it saves so much from going to the landfills, and is very budget friendly! Thrifting is really an enjoyable "treasure hunt."

As a senior on a fixed income, I love to shop the thrift stores and yard sales to find decor pieces to transform into something beautiful for my home.
Someone asked me the other day if I remember the first time I went to a thrift store. I really couldn’t remember. I’m passionate about thrifting. I think taking something old or discarded and giving it new life has always been a part of who I am. My parents grew up during the depression, but I’m not really that old (I’m the youngest of 9), so we didn’t throw “good stuff” away. I have done so much crafting from fine needle work, painting anything and everything, to upholstery and wood work. I recently learned how to patch veneer. Most recently I stripped whitewashed and lime washed a dresser. Currently I am crocheting a baby blanket for my expecting niece. I usually have 1 or 2 projects going at a time keeping my fingers busy and my mind young.
I've been a crafter much longer than I've been a thrifter. I started making flower arrangements and home decor items as a teenager. I never really got into thrifting until I was married and had kids. A very big majority of our home is items we've thrifted, picked up at auctions or estate sales, and decor that I've made. There are a LOT of memories in all the pieces that fill our space. And you inspired me to make the next piece...I have a bag full of keys that were my dad's (he passed away in 2005). He always carried a pocket full of keys, and had many more he kept in a drawer, and I have been holding on to them, not knowing what to make with them. I'm going to make something similar to your first project in this video, and hang it in my kitchen where I can look at it daily and think of him. Thanks for sharing your ideas!

When we were first married my husband's family would give us their furniture castoffs for our new home. I was grateful to have it as the pieces were high quality and well made, but they were pretty dated and needed some work. I added in pieces from thrift stores and garage sales, updated with paint to make it cohesive, and ... 30+ years later I'm STILL doing it! The only difference is now I do it by choice rather than necessity. I've made a business out of it and I LOVE IT! I've found your business tips especially helpful and have fwd'd several of your videos to my husband as positive reinforcement! 😆 Thanks for all the good advice!

Markets and antique shops have been in my blood since childhood. As a young adult I started going to estate auctions to pick up affordable decor for myself. Thrifting has been a later in life love.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March of 2021. I am in remission now. I decided I wanted to open a booth in our local antique emporium after I got through the treatments and got my strength back. So working on the items to put in my booth gave me something else to think about and a reason to get out of bed. I am getting my energy and strength back little by little and I hope to be getting my booth up and running soon. Thank you for all of your inspiration. You are a very talented person. God Bless You!

I love going to flea markets and estate sales. I started thrifting in the eighties when money was tight and my children were small. Now they have a love of thrifting and although they are grown and married we love to set aside a weekend and go to townwide yard sales and estate sales together. During the holidays we decorate with everything vintage from blowmolds to putz houses. It brings joy to recreate days long gone and share memories from my childhood decorations and treasures

Thrifting reminds me of days I got to spend hunting for goodies with my mama who is no longer with us. We used to call it junkin’ and I have so many happy memories of spending time with her.
I was taught by the pro my mother, I’ve been thrifty , since I can remember. I get an idea , how I want to decorate a room in my home. I go to a thrift store , I don’t always find what I’m looking for that day. Eventually I do find what I’m looking for on one of my shopping trips. It’s the searching , the excitement, the thrill of it all. Treasure and a coat of paint is a great helps.

I started thrifting many years ago out of necessity. I 've always liked pretty and useful, and I've always wanted "stuff." But having 13 children in 19 years, money was tight and little went for what I wanted, or needed for that matter. However, my creativity to make a comfortable and attractive home with thrifted and second-hand items was nothing compared to what others have shown on UA-cam in recent years. The Pandemic has renewed my interest in redecorating and redoing my all ready thrifted items. Now that all my children are out of the house and I can afford new, I still love the hunt for those special finds that I can tweek.

I come by my thrifting and love of “junk” naturally. My father taught me the art of up-cycling and restoring neglected furniture long before it was considered trendy. He would drag me along to auctions and old junk stores and always let me pick out something to work on, myself! That love of junk has evolved into a true appreciation of all things vintage/antique & the stories those items tell!

I thrift for myself and years ago I used to refinish furniture for my home. I hope to get back to that now that all the kiddos are grown up. I do simple DIY's for my home as well. I love the old look of things even though my house isn't antique. I like keeping wood tones and white and black touches through out. I like tiered trays although I don't do those often. It’s in my genes! My Mom took my sister, brother, & me “junking” in Jacksonville, FL when we were very young. Her favorite place was a salvage store and it was so cool, scary, & had everything imaginable. I think the thrill is finding a valuable item for a few dollars and then going on the hunt again! Men tell their fishing and hunting escapades, pickers tell about the treasures they find!
I love to thrift to find the diamonds in the rough. I love vintage and antique and it’s always so fun to see what you can find to give it a second, or third, or maybe fourth life. I’m not as great a crafter, but I do a lot of refreshing with paint. It’s all almost like therapy for me.

Finding goodies at the thrift stores, garage sales, or flea markets is like finding something new, with a twist. One it could valuable and most of all recreate to your own style. I love it. Especially old paintings or prints. By adding a simple paint job to the frame, makes it beautiful for someone to enjoy. By the way love that taupe color you used.
When I see furniture and things that seem old and abandoned, I like to try to listen to what they mean and get the most beautiful essence out of them, transform them and give them another chance at splendor by decorating my little house, they are a new treasure. I just watched your video for the first time; I loved the freebie riser and the keys repurposed. I started thrifting years ago to rescue items I felt still had life. I love hunting vintage wearables and lamps.
I have been thrifting and crafting since the early 70s and its my passion. I sniff out auctions, thrift shops, yard sales, etc each and every time I travel. As a matter of fact I purchased my 1918 home via an auction. I am retired and money can be tight so I rely on my finds to re-purpose, refinish. and update to decorate my home.

Your recommendation about treating your booth as a business has been so helpful-so much so that the owner of the building asked me if I wanted a larger space! Back around 1970 in junior high school shop class we made those style mail holders, just a bit different using various wood types. I can imagine some 13- or 14-year-old guy making that mail holder once upon a time. Your mail holder seems to look a bit older. Nice work on everything.

Thrifting and creating taps into a side of myself I never knew existed. Crafting from thrifting has led me to step out of the shadows and take chances, and ultimately given me confidence. It's also allowed me to create and share with others. They truly enjoy my gifts.

I grew up on rummage sales, thrift and antique stores. I started to appreciate curbside finds in my late teens in California. I think it is and instant gratification treasure hunt. I have yet to match the pure excitement of finding something really, really good or something that just feels like we were supposed to be together. Especially now when so many new people are starting to thrift and there are so many videos now on what to buy while thrifting that prices have climbed and the good stuff just gets harder to find. Because of that, if I walk into a thrift store and there is some really great stuff I feel like it was meant to be. Had I come earlier or later it probably wouldn’t be there. Thrifting/Junking is the blood that keeps my heart ♥️ beating.🥰
I never really considered myself crafty until recently. I have always transformed decor into my own style though. I didn’t know that was considered crafty. People only commented on my decor and how I used my decor. I definitely started to spread my wings much more as years went on. I absolutely love creating beautiful things. I love learning new techniques and expanding my wheelhouse of accomplishments. It has turned out to be a Godsend and in many ways it has saved my life. I’m disabled and have severe PTSD. Creating is my therapy. That and good music. ♥️ Today is the first day and very first video I have seen on your channel. I’m going to stick around to see more. Thanks for sharing. 🥰
