If you are ever in the winter garden area again, the little Indian shop- spice culture sells English biscuits (they have bourbons, rich tea, etc )and chocolate. They are the cheapest around! 😊

Just found your channel! I live in Davenport and also work very close to Posner. Beware... that area is pure craziness during Christmas!! They have built up around that area but haven't fixed the traffic issue. I moved here 5 years ago from Minnesota and Davenport has changed so much since I moved down!! Welcome to Central Florida!!

I've just started watching you n your family. I enjoy coming along on your decorating of the house. Just fyi Target is high for food you should do better at Publix even for your Alcohol give it a try. Can't wait for the next.
I do prefer Publix for food it was just as I passed target it was convenient:-) going to do a Sam’s club shop tomorrow and stock up, I will do a haul in next weeks vlog. Thanks for watching x

"if you want to fast track your credit score, open a secured credit card as soon as you can. You'll be given a silly little credit limit like $200, but use it and pay it off every month and you'll soon build up your credit. We would just charge our gas to it then pay off each month. If you had an American Express card in Abi Dhabi or the UK you can ask American Express to give you a card with a decent limit based on your history/relationship with them. We were able to get a card with a $10k limit when we moved to Chicago about 8 years ago based on our Amex card from the UK.

Such a lovely week and we always say if we moved out there we’d get a pool but thinking about it I don’t think we now would, especially as you have one on your community we also love your little outside space 😍 love what you are doing to the house and we love that you are documenting everything so thank you 😊

This cracked me up. What does a pilot do in his time off? Goes to visit an airfield 😂😂😂. There’s a man who loves his job. House is coming together nicely 😊. I like the green wall, and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure, but it looks good. I absolutely love the clock you chose, I think I would have chosen that one too, but once it went on the wall, I thought it was crying out for a version with an outer frame to define it. I think it’s because everything kind of blends seamlessly in the house you need the odd thing to “pop” a bit, if that makes sense? Still looks nice though and it’s probably just me. Also nice to see you catch up with the Bazzas! I don’t follow them as such, but know of them through the Lodge Guys and they seem lovely 😊. You’ll have a ton of friends in no time. Really enjoying the vlogs. You’re a natural 😊
I did think that too about the frame of the clock, I defo need something else there to add more your right, I think it needs a plant or maybe a picture either side 🤷🏼♀️ can’t decide yet! Thanks so much for watching xx
@@Katiesfloridalife Ooh, I like the idea of plants! Would tie in beautifully with the green wall. I recently revamped my daughter’s living room and put small floating wall shelves either side of the round wall mirror and added some plants. It balanced the whole thing up and adds a nice organic feel to it. Look forward to see what you decide to do. It’s only when you really start living in a house that you get a feel for what works for you, isn’t it? 😊

you are definitely a DIY'er now my friend. Love the green wall. The carpets from Wayfair are great ! Love Home Goods and Marshalls but yes they can be quite itty bitty with their things. If you see something you have to grab it a 9 out of 10 times it'll be gone. Lovely pool in your complex. We're looking to move July ish into another rental, hoping to get a pool with the next one. Have a great rest of your weekend. Like you the vlogs are a great hobby, been daily vlogging for 12 years now and it's really helped me through some tough times. Don't stop I love yours.

Thanks for sharing your week. Things are coming along in the new home. Home Goods is great for bits and pieces but you can never be sure what they will have. It is supposed to be “end of line” and “closeouts”. Funnily enough I quite often find Walkers shortbread. But I also feel their prices have escalated since Covid. When my 2 were at University it was the cheap place to buy bedding and college apartment basics. And yes they are the same parent company as TJMaxx (which is TKMaxx in the UK) who also own Marshalls hence why one store led into the other. The parent company is TJX companies. If you like to decorate at Christmas HomeGoods is the place.
I did think it would be the same company, you can tell the way it’s laid out and the type of products they sell. Can’t wait for the Halloween and Christmas seasons to begin and see the shops 😍 thanks for watching xx

I only use the brand FrogTape for painting...it's the best! The blue tape will always give you issues.

Katie, forgot to mention that Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways all have Crew bases here at MCO. American Airlines closest crew base is MIA. Just a FYI for you guys to look into if ever interested. I know this would mean Jason getting FAA approved, back on Reserve and the low man on the totem pole for scheduling but no commuting on days off or a small commute if that. More family time. I have shared your vlog with my great friends in Heysham, UK..they are a wonderful couple, Tina & Baz 😊
Hi, Jason has an FAA license as he had to to work for his current company, they are based here. Yes we have looked into a lot of these and did consider them but most weren’t offering MCO as a base when we contacted them. But it’s definitely an option in the future if we hear they are taking on and we don’t think this roster pattern will work for us. What a great vlog! The place looks nice. I had no idea that restaurant in Winter Haven next to the regional airport was there. Hope you get to travel domestically once your settled in. Jason seems to have a good schedule...maybe he can bid for even a better one once he gets more seniority.
The restaurant was really nice and had a bar, think they do Karaoke nights and quiz nights too. Yes we will see how the schedule goes, there is always a compromise somewhere x
Posnor Park was my local last year! We always stay in Davenport now. It’s got busier since we first started visiting but we still love it! You’re doing amazing with your channel and I love watching! I can defo bring out some biscuits in December if you’d like xx

I know you mentioned in one vlog about some privacy hedges for your back patio. Maybe some roman shades would help too, especially when the sun beats down in the brutal parts of summer (Aug & Sept).

We really enjoy watching your vlogs. Thank you for giving us so many insights on the start of your new life in Orlando. We are a family of 3 from Germany and are spending our vacations in the Orlando area regularly (1-2 times per year).
It is our plan to move to the Orlando area in the next 5-10 years and we are starting to prepare our financial situation to achieve this goal.
Would you be so kind to go into more detail in regard to the monthly costs e.g.: water, power supply, internet, insurances for the house, cars etc.
Maybe you could even name the companies, because it is very difficult for us to find some reliable information online.

This is so great! How much does the universal and Disney passes you bought as a resident cost for the year pls?
There is different prices depending on how many block out days you want or don’t want per year. We went for the second from top with Disney and it was around $1000 per year and the Universal we got the top pass and it was around $800 per year x
You live in Davenport, if you want British food take a trip to the Best Of British Pub on 27.
Ive been there a couple of times yes, they have a good selection but its expensive so you need to really want it haha x

We only brought boxes of things from Qatar, starting fresh with furniture apart from we will be shipping the contents of our UK home soon too, keep watching to see how that goes. Thanks for watching xx

How does the medical insurance work, do u have to pay whenever u need to go to doctors, dentists etc ?
We are only just learning how it works and haven't had to use it yet, hopefully won't either any time soon. We do have to pay towards it though I think x

The 2 weeks off will be great but that’s if we can hack the 2 weeks on long term, let’s see!! Yes we’ve found home insurance and car insurance expensive, much more than the UK and it is to do with hurricanes. I plan to go more into detail on the cost of living next week. Thank you for watching x
How is the medical system there for you, difficult or easy?
We have medical insurance through my husbands company but we also have to add to it every month too. We haven't used it yet though and hoping not to in the near future. x
