I had an aunt and uncle that retired to Florida many years ago. They both lived into their 90's. My uncle told me he had been to several funeral services where they were the only one present. The funeral home director told him that due to people living so long, they outlive their local friends, and the remaining family lived up north that they had services where no one was present.
As always when a story involves children, I wish I knew what happened to the two in this case. I hope they were adopted together and given a loving and stable home, and that they're living happy lives now.

The jail wasn't the only punishment, he would have had to register as a sex offender, and that's usually for life. So he would never be able to pick up his kids at school, rent an apartment, have a regular job, he would either have to go homeless, or live vicariously through his wife. so he didn't have any real good options.

Investigation revealed this employer and wife caused an 'accident' so that young man was killed but everyone thinking it was the employer. The employer was found hiding in another state, wanting a new life while wife was insurance beneficiary.
