- This is a review of my bike the ZXR400 L8 (1998)
this is the first vid with my mic mod on the drift x170 helmet cam think it want pretty good and testing the angle.

Had L1, put on 80.000 miles. Sweet bike.. 15 year ago. K418 BSX is it still out there!!!
Suspension is firm and hard - good for hard driving on smooth road surfaces.
My rear shock was done after 20 years. I replaced it with GSX-R 1000 K5 shock, which works just fine. Big reservoir of GSX-R shock didn't fit in, so I had to cut rear sub frame's crossbar and move the battery.

@@mallenkennelsuk5854 yea it's an awesome bike. Sound is great, always starts. Although some rattling sound is coming from the engine, apart from that running fine
@@bowches i been looking at getting one im not a great rider so think a 6 is abit fast i was looking at the ninja 300 but the sound crap lol the zxr is my.cup of tea lol what year did u buy dude?

HD is a must these days. This is like watching MCN in the 80's.
I get usually about 250-260 km with 14 liters of fuel. So it's about 42...44 mpg. (5.3...5.6 l/100 km)
My bike has 2 seats, but it's registered for only 1 person.
Wonderful agility and handling! High revving engine has really nice sound with Yoshimura stubby exhaust. Ergonomics are also wonderful since my bike has gone through a sort of streetfighter treatment (wider bars, fairings removed, carb needle kit, exhaust...)
My ZXR400 has done about 40000kms 25000miles and is still doing just fine.
looks sweet in purple, im getting the green/white one. love the look of 90's sports bikes it's a shame there's no modern sportsbikes between 250s and 600s

@CookedIce yh man i dont know the MPG exactly but would be easy to figure out i get 150 miles out of 15 pound so 10 miles per pound !
And yes it has a passenger seat i have had people on the back its fine =)

omg i know exactly what you mean, i have a little ped and im 16, bloody kitted the hell out off it, 70 big bore, rollers, exhaust everything, manages to hit 65 hahaha but ive been looking for fucking years, i am obsessed with bikes! and i cant wait to get my hands on this beast, got some saving to do aswell hahaha :)
im moving to Britain at 18 possibly this will be my first purchase

Noob question, im shopping around for my first 400, and the ZXR along with the CBR/VFR have taken my eye, but what are those 2 tubes on the petrol tank with your ZXR ? Apologies!
if you haven't figured it out until now they are going to the air intake
mate what sort of MPG do u get out of it
im still on a 125 and she a lovey with fuel (when i want her to be)
also last note does it have 2 seats which is the main thing i need to know
Hey dude i have a ZXR400 too, same model as yours, i was wondering if you could help me with a little something, when i move on mine it pulles away just fine but when i stop say at traffic lights it idles at about 2.5Krevs then drops back down too about 1.5Krevs is that normal? it stays like that for a good 20 seconds, any advice much appretiated. :P cheers.

@AbusedReverend, i posted a comment on your channel dno if you've seen it.If its been like this since you've baught it then most likely your idle adjuster is set to high. Use the adjuster on the right side of the bike below the tank to adjust it. Either that or your deceleration cable is too tight. All you need to do is get the tank off and on the right side of the carbs you'll see 2 wires/cables. Or could be your grips are a little loose.Happened to me once and i thought i fucked the bike haha
would you recommend this bike to 6 '3' 17 year old on a restricted licence as a first sportsbike position ?? many tanx

How is the suspension on the zxr400? Is it good or bad? or big? lol
I've just past me test, really want a Honda Fireblade, but looking for summat cheap that i can do all my newbie mistakes on and improve my skills on for a few months first, i was thinking this looks ideal, can get them sub £1K and then i can turn it into a track slag and use it for race schools etc.
Thats nice thanks for you opinion and before you tell me i am an insult to 500cc plus riders you should have checked my channel ive owned a 650cc for just over a year.

yeah i have a zxr400 and they are best for smaller people
been a while since you commented, did you buy a zxr4 in the end??
A. A very quick bike noway its 400cc
B. Ya get good sounds from most bikes
C. Not old my dads 1995 zzr1200 has no problems in good nic but very very veryyy fast
