This is an awesome video. I've been in martial arts for 23 years. I've only just picked up the whip, and with all the amazing whip masters out here, it is only natural that this is a lethal weapon in the right hands. Such and amazing tool.
If you look carefully, you can see the sonic overpreasure because of the humidity. Generally, the loud crack is a small sonic boom (overpreasure). I would like to see a video on two subjects. What are the length options to be considered and how to start learning to use a whip while not totally whip the operator in the process.
I saw a old ma in Mexico mess-up 5 grown men trying to assault him and his daughter, he used on old whip and man did he ever put a whooping on those guys…. Bloody, torn skin, torn clothings and 2 guys were actually crying. Yes a whip can absolutely work for self defense
I'm legit considering it because I'd rather use something less likely to kill or maim. I expect a whip would be very intimidating for someone who's never been on the wrong end.
Can you provide me with more details on the whip you are using. I would like to purchase one similar to that; do you have a link to a source to buy? I very much enjoyed your tutorial.
guajilo...it is a 4' 8 Plait Kangaroo Bullwhip with a 10" nail spike for handle. I made it my self. trinitywhipco.com. the model is a moddified Jones Jr. Here is a link to the Jones Jr. Model www.trinitywhipco.com/jones-jr
In Canada there's literally no legal self-defense weapon, I'm constantly bothered by crackhead and weird people when I'm alone. Don't know if I could use whip to defense myself
So if someone tries to attack you,you just have to hope you can run faster?Wow Canadian laws are ridiculous. They seem to care more about the attacker then the possible victim.
From what I’ve heard, you actually can defend yourself there, you just have to be very careful. I would recommend using something that wasn’t initially designed to harm someone (A heavy tactical flashlight, perhaps, which could disorient them before requiring physical force) and definitely be sure to obtain a body camera and record the entire event. If someone runs, let them run, and also use an alarm to inflict as little permanent physical damage as humanly possible until you have to. It is also much easier to defend your home than it is outside of it, and remember to try your best to use what you deem as reasonable force in the moment. Also, if they run, let them run. It can easily become an assault charge if they run -empty-handed, especially- and you chase and attack them. If you’re not filming (please do, but) avoid injury inn their back, as that can imply they ran and you attacked them. I can elaborate further with sources if requested.
@@paper2946 I make what is called a 3/4 whip for this model. It is only a 4' so 8 plait is enough. Higher plait count doesn't make a better whip. Anything hight then a 12 plait should be a 2 tone for fancy braiding. It is who males the Whip that makes it a better whip, not how many plait. ;)
For the purpose of the video I am using a 4' bullwhip with a 2' fall. The 4' whip is most commonly used in Kali whip systems. I made this one myself and it uses 10" handle. This model is an 8 plait.
I made a short video the other day. Its kind of whip from the hip. That can sure be used for self defense. I think? facebook.com/groups/1387884264608795/?fref=ts
I host whip meets a few times a year here in Indianapolis. I do that when I snuff candles. I think Nick' s Whip Shop has a video of it from one of the meets. I also snuff candles with my eyes closed. As for carrying a whip. some people do. I knew a guy who did tours in Iraq and carried one. When ever I visit Chicago I carry one myself.
I find this very useful for writing purposes because one of my characters uses a whip to fight.
Same
Agreed. But, mine is a Belmont. And has never wielded the Vampire Killer but has a new weapon
Nice 🌌👢🐄
Omg same!
I came here for the same reason, and now I'm thinking I wanna get a whip for protection

I'm curious. Why 8 plait for this thing? Does the lower plait count have some martial benefit?

@@trinitywhipco9132 I just started whipmaking, so I'm unfamiliar with the concept of a 3/4 whip. Can you please explain it to me?
@paper2946 It is called down slightly. A full size is a little thick, IMO, when it comes to shorter whips.
Thank you.

Is all good. But it is always nice to stay fit

Why not...

Yes, why not for self defense..
