Some interesting ideas but seems easy to grab the tail of the whip anywhere too gain easy leverage to disarm you, especially holding it backwards. The best use of a weapon is to keep your distance from the attacker and intimidate them enough they decide you are a hard target. I took a lot of defensive firearms courses. I was expecting more of a move off the x, get some distance and start swinging type stuff.

Seen a few different beginners instructables. Hands down this is the best "first timmers tutorial" yet. I found out you don't have to wear a hat. Then I got a solid breakdown on the body mechanics. I was developing dangerously poor habits. And I was about to spend a mortgage payment on hat.

So if I'm cracking different cracks (let's say I start with a sidearm flick and after that I go to an overhead crack) do I need to rotate the whip in my hand so I'm cracking with the natural curve?

How do u feel about linseed oil for whip care?
