This is from their middle period, when they still had Aruto on drums but Re-No had replaced Rami on vocals. Aldious were one of the first of the new wave of Japanese girl-metal bands to form in the early 2000’s, along with Destrose, Cyntia and existTtrace. They are, in their hearts, a metal band, but have done a lot of exploring of various styles and genres. Personnel: Yoshi has been the constant (founder, lead guitar, band manager, audience right). Toki (co-lead guitar, pink Flying-V, audience left) joined a year later and has also been a constant, except in 2019 when she took time off to have a baby (during that time, Narumi toured with them for a year, in between solo projects). Sawa (bass) was there briefly at the beginning, left, and rejoined in 2010. Marina (drums) replaced Aruto, the original drummer, in 2014. Marina is the step daughter of the legendary Terry Bozzio, who played with Frank Zappa for almost two decades. As with many of the Japanese bands, Aldious have a rock solid rhythm section, over which the guitars and vocals have free range to do their thing. The biggest changes have been at vocals. Rami, the original vocalist, left in 2012 and Re-No took over. Their most commercially successful period was with Re-No, despite some controversy among their fans over whether she was “metal” enough. Re-No retired for medical reasons in 2018, and R!N stepped in. They seem to have bad luck with this position, as R!N has just announced she is leaving as of July 2021, also for medical reasons, after recording a few songs. Fans have vigorously debated the very different styles of the three women, with Rami being considered the most “metal” but all three bringing a unique sound to the mix. The question now is whether they will find a permanent vocalist. Songs to check out: “We Are” (MV) ua-cam.com/video/sfkJT0rra-8/v-deo.html “Kanasii Otoko” (live MV) ua-cam.com/video/pDu-ZX2TAS0/v-deo.html “Reincarnation” (Live) ua-cam.com/video/57UvVMWY2Vo/v-deo.html This last one features a spectacular collaboration with classical violinist Chieko Kinbara; it suggests Aldious could have gone in a symphonic rock direction if they chose.
This song came out in 2014 and you have Aruto on drums who was replaced by Marina in 2015. Singer Re:No had to leave at the end of 2018 due to a medical condition in her inner ear called patulous Eustachian tube, she was replaced by R!N who left the band earlier this year to deal with her mental health problems. They are currently looking for a 4th and new singer.
The track you were looking for is Sweet Temptation - which is a pretty cool song - Re:NO is 100% a vampire in that song. Dominator is one of their standards - it's a thing to behold live. Aldious have been around since 2008 and are the OGs in this genre being the first girl's J-Metal band to have success this century - in 2010. they are power metal - LOVEBITES sound like them. ;) Aldious are still making music, Toki, Yoshi, Sawa and Marina aren't done yet. Their last singer probably had the best female metal voice in Japan but retired from Aldious with severe depression. This singer, Re:NO retired due to an inner ear condition leading to vertigo. Thei first singer and co-founder Rami left due to a "brain illness" and she still makes music but has a pretty light schedule, unlike Aldious who tour mercilessly. Live - find Yosakura for Re:NO, or Eversince for R!N (the awesome vocalist). ダイジェスト動画 for Rami. Incidentally, Rami is probably the most interesting character of the entire genre - she might just be the vampire princess for real. lol
Nice reaction. I'm a huge Lovebites fan, but I do like Aldious quite a bit as well. Scrash is another cool track from them. Go for the live performance on their official channel.
I actually like her voice. Puts me in the mind of Unlucky Morpheus' female lead. Sometimes Japanese female metal leads sound shrill to me. Her tone us easy in the ears. The band is really impressive, especially the drummer and bass. Great reaction!
I agree with everything you said. Speeking of that, we need to get back to Unlucky Morpheus. I appreciate the love, glad you liked it. Im a new fan for sure. I couldnt come up with the words about the drummer, jeeze, shes strong. All of them are, really.
@@toxicgnome8445 do it galneyrus is great check there song angel of salvation it has the church on that one but people like the live version cause its the full length of the song. Angel of Salvation was my intro to the band too.
