Pdx should probably do something like Domination in EUIV and tweak some of the majors. Exept Italy and the Soviets I think they all got fairly old and basic focus trees. They work but they lack a lot of immersion in comparison to reworked ones.
yeah it's stupid they didn't rework this when BBA came out but the balance of power mechanic is basically just a fancier decision tab that interacts with your advisors. imo japan needs attention in other areas first like their political branches. Honestly everything could use a fresh coat of paint when i think about it, japan has so much potential

The other three Nordic nations are very similar languages and the wide consensus(2vs1) is that danish sounds like a normal person gargling marbles while trying to speak.

However, this reason is stupid. The King of no country was actively involved in Politics. If they would have for ALL the Nordics their Kings as Spirits (because none have them) it would be nice for them to give like 10%+ Stability and depending on some player choices the can also give PP and War Support.

Japan had conquered all of the resource areas and was possibly planning an invasion of Australia. They invaded the British raj, the Brits crown jewel of the empire. The Americans and british wanted to take Japan out themselves due to the communist Chinese winning and the Soviets pushing through Manchuria into Korea. Had the Soviets taken or forced japan into surrender, it’s possible the entire north Asian area would turn out communist.

This puts Denmark in a cool spot for multiplayer. With it’s Iceland territory right above the UK and it’s control over the Baltic strait, it’ll make a valuable ally for Germany, I can imagine seeing a Scotland sealion with a beachhead established by Italian/Danish/Romanian marines and backed up with German tanks/navy (with a screen of danish destroyers). It would probably be smart to go from deeply welfare in the beginning to build industry, then all the way to warfare to beat the Allies, then back to slight welfare to help Germany/Italy repair or build supply lines, I can’t imagine the Danes could help much in a Soviet War except maybe get Leningrad with their Sealion marines. It’s neat that Paradox is making countries feel like a valuable support ally rather than everyone getting a meme empire like “dude form mongolia-tuvan-Finland haha!!” as the end of their focus tree. They make for good one time campaigns but when a country feels useful on a low level you get a lot more replayability and way more David vs Goliath moments that are much more memorable and feel much more believable in the scope of changing WW2 history. I also like that Denmark gives that one Danish Produce ability to Britain, I hope we can get more of that in focus trees because it makes not only the minor nation feel important, but also the major nation really feels like a prime minister cutting deals with other nations.

Y’know I gotta say I know they already did all the work for Austria-Hungary as a DLC but I feel like they could do more. Like restore the Holy Roman Empire or have like a pan-Slavic state rather than the end goal of Austria-Hungary being Austria-Hungary. Like having a balance of power to restore the single monarchy instead of the dual monarchy. Or like create a union with the polish or Romanian Habsburgs for a whole new mega state. Or maybe they’ll do that once Austria (theoretically) gets an update.
Hopefully the historical path accurately represents Denmark's historical contribution to the war, but I like that we've got a variety of alt historical options

The only thing we are missing now are Eastern Belgium/ Eupen-Malmedy. I wonder if they are ever going to make it so that Germany can get cores on the territory. I imagine they added this state but changed nothing else, so that Imperial Germany doesn't actually ever get a core on it, or possession of the state without a full-on war.
@@sebe2255 an accurate border for bezirk bialystok for example (this round looking thing near east prussia) the whole states are a mess in the east because of so frequent border changes in the real world at the time. paradox probably has to create new state divisions for after poland gets split somehow to make it historically accurate and no cluster fuck

Reshaping Bialystok or creating new States in Poland and Belarus just so that these Borders are correct when a Player does it is just a recipe for Bordergore and non-sense. I think as it is right now, with RK Ukraine and Ostland and the Borders to the west being roughly the Borders of the Molotov Ribbentrop pact is the absolute best way to deal with this.

I'd love to see bittersteel do a nationalist south Africa play through. One with a civil war as opposed to a referendum. Without joining the axis till after the Civil War. When the focus tree Civil War begins, the nationalist begin in Namibia with only 400k total population, you can get anywhere from 4-7 mils but the lack of population is the major drawback. In addition there's huge setbacks to the Civil War like the national stockpile being cut in half, each side starts with "militias" so deleting the army does nothing, half your army is given to the enemy AI. And lastly the democratic africans start with the industrial heartland of Africa so they can build up a relatively huge economy and afford to outfit their soldiers properly, they throw them recklessly into the meat grinder but they'll always be able to replenish their soldiers faster then you. With their 10 mil population and huge Civ economy. It seems like the only strategies are to rush cape Town for its pop, I've managed to encircle a few division but its never enough to turn the tide. Both sides start with a max of 75k military manpower, but as soon as it starts the democrats can start training new divisions with your shared stockpile meanwhile your stuck with no manpower. Using pinning attacks doesn't work since the infrastructure and speed is terrible, there's also only 3 tiles on the border so its easy for them to defend. you can only take about 3 tiles before they spam the front with units, supply is a huge problem as well. They defend supply hubs well so usually you end up over extending your lines and without manpower your susceptible to encirclements. If you can find a supply of manpower to refresh your troops. You can definitely win. My options are to either waste all my man power taking supply hubs which can't be held without reinforcements, or rushing to cape which always has a garrison. I've tried encircling cape but there's no supply for your units, it becomes impossible to maintain a siege much less crush the pocket. If anyone was capable of beating the Civil War independently, I'd follow that man into hell and back without a question.
If German is anything to go by, Haerens Tekniske Korps is something like People's Technical Group or Army Corps of Engineers. Same with alot of the stuff on the Finnish Fascist branch, alot seems to be the Finnish spelling of words like Reich [Riik I think] and Panzer [Panssari]. To translate [and possibly try to pronounce] words in Paradox games, find the major non-English speaking country they are linked to [Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Japan or China] and find the words in similar focuses that sound similar. If they didn't have a word for it, they just transliterated it into theirs.
Honestly there should be a PoW Update and foreign workers. At the end of the War Germany had around 7 Million foreign workers (kidnapped or otherwise coerced with money) working for its Warmachine.
If I had to guess, the Haeren Home Guard Divisions will be like the Ethiopian Cavalry and Militia Divisions, which makes a little sense for Denmark. Considering how poorly things went in real life, I can see Paradox doing this route in order to give Danes a fighting chance

The surrender focus only takes 5 hours to finish. It's historical because it takes some in-game time to select the focus after Germany declares war. If you are a speedrunner or like to min max it, you can surrender faster than in real life by pausing as soon as the war is declared and having a day saved up in the focus menu to get a 1 hour surrender.
Imagine denmark, 6 hours in the war, having a better focus tree than Germany

The pacific was never the priority in real life either for the allies. It was basically just Japan grabbing colonies almost nobody were defending.

Denmark seriously gets a focus tree for fighting for 6 hours. And Belgium still gets nothing. Nothing at all.

One with a civil war as opposed to a referendum. Without joining the axis till after the Civil War.
When the focus tree Civil War begins, the nationalist begin in Namibia with only 400k total population, you can get anywhere from 4-7 mils but the lack of population is the major drawback.
In addition there's huge setbacks to the Civil War like the national stockpile being cut in half, each side starts with "militias" so deleting the army does nothing, half your army is given to the enemy AI.
And lastly the democratic africans start with the industrial heartland of Africa so they can build up a relatively huge economy and afford to outfit their soldiers properly, they throw them recklessly into the meat grinder but they'll always be able to replenish their soldiers faster then you. With their 10 mil population and huge Civ economy.
It seems like the only strategies are to rush cape Town for its pop, I've managed to encircle a few division but its never enough to turn the tide. Both sides start with a max of 75k military manpower, but as soon as it starts the democrats can start training new divisions with your shared stockpile meanwhile your stuck with no manpower.
Using pinning attacks doesn't work since the infrastructure and speed is terrible, there's also only 3 tiles on the border so its easy for them to defend. you can only take about 3 tiles before they spam the front with units, supply is a huge problem as well. They defend supply hubs well so usually you end up over extending your lines and without manpower your susceptible to encirclements. If you can find a supply of manpower to refresh your troops. You can definitely win.
My options are to either waste all my man power taking supply hubs which can't be held without reinforcements, or rushing to cape which always has a garrison. I've tried encircling cape but there's no supply for your units, it becomes impossible to maintain a siege much less crush the pocket.
If anyone was capable of beating the Civil War independently, I'd follow that man into hell and back without a question.
Gonna be fun to see if you can go monarchy sweden and have Vyborg and Kexholmen come back.

If German is anything to go by, Haerens Tekniske Korps is something like People's Technical Group or Army Corps of Engineers. Same with alot of the stuff on the Finnish Fascist branch, alot seems to be the Finnish spelling of words like Reich [Riik I think] and Panzer [Panssari]. To translate [and possibly try to pronounce] words in Paradox games, find the major non-English speaking country they are linked to [Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Japan or China] and find the words in similar focuses that sound similar. If they didn't have a word for it, they just transliterated it into theirs.

Denmarks ideas of "By (someone elses) Blood Alone" worked and in 1945 they got their country back.
Honestly there should be a PoW Update and foreign workers. At the end of the War Germany had around 7 Million foreign workers (kidnapped or otherwise coerced with money) working for its Warmachine.

If I had to guess, the Haeren Home Guard Divisions will be like the Ethiopian Cavalry and Militia Divisions, which makes a little sense for Denmark. Considering how poorly things went in real life, I can see Paradox doing this route in order to give Danes a fighting chance

The surrender focus only takes 5 hours to finish. It's historical because it takes some in-game time to select the focus after Germany declares war. If you are a speedrunner or like to min max it, you can surrender faster than in real life by pausing as soon as the war is declared and having a day saved up in the focus menu to get a 1 hour surrender.
