I worked for city transit as a mechanic. I’m immigrant and I had pee test every six months other workers hardly was called for testing. As years went by I got tired being treated differently. If company assumed me doing something wrong or if asked for time off. Management made big show out of it. But someone else asked no big deal. Noticed also manager lied to me very often and made rules out of thin air. But if others did clearly wrong they led it slide. Last thing I was never talked to if I did say anything. Never, good morning how are you. Or if talked it was talking to a wall. It was frustrating. Now I’m retired and glad not working there. I loved job I did and put my best effort to it. I made sure when I left, I didn’t tell anyone just the HR.
It's naive to label these people as idiots. He knew exactly what he was doing. He saw a potential victim and took the opportunity to ruin her life. He's done it before and will do it again. Nothing idiotic about that.
She needs to sue and attache her self to his Pension for the rest of his miserable life.

When there’s more cops than crime. The city/county still expects the cops to make their quotas for the month. This will mean that at least some of the officers will try to make a mountain out of a molehill to make quota. Like what happens in this video.

The police officer is completely wasting his time and should be demoted or released, the lady should be reimbursed for all her losses.
As long as M.A.D.D. continues to reward cops and police departments with cash and prizes for making DUI arrests, not convictions, just arrests, cops will continue to arrest people who are sober.

Yeah, one particular officer I know of is Marc Lofton. He arrested hundreds of innocent people on false accusations of DUI.
His goal was to be MADD's "Officer of the year" by breaking all records.

Not to mention DUI punishment lacks in many states, I was hit by a drunk driver who was going the wrong way on a rotary and she fled the scene and hit another car. She was arrested and in my state (Massachusetts, USA) DUI first timers get a free pass, and they are only required to do a driver retraining course. Then when their second DUI happens they are charged with both DUIs. Lack of punishment and incentives for arrest, leads to misbehavior on all sides.
Please file a lawsuit. These are the things that make people hate police. It's only getting worse because the higher ups and politicians are doing nothing about it. I hate that this happened to her. They blew her life up because they are drunk on power.

The officer must be factually wrong if the dash cam showed she went under a yellow. He was factually wrong about her sunglass use, she had them on originally and flipped them on top briefly to look for cards inside. He made sever speaking mistakes and sounded like he slurred at times if we are going to be hard asses about common things. A yellow light is still legal, not sure why she would allow even that ticket particularly since she has a CDL. All in all even if she made a mistake the officer was making some too and more of them.

Any police officer ever caught pulling these stunts should be permanently banned from that occupation nationwide. But no I seen them countless times bounce from 1 small dept to next with lawsuits following them like ticks on a lost hound dog then you hear about some little city they now are the Police Chief & That whole town becomes a speed & ticket trap. I got very close kin in Law Enforcement but a few like this gives everybody in that occupation a bad reputation.
That cop was desperate to nail her on that test. She was wonderful how she showed them compliance and courtesy.
FILE! She was not intoxicated in any way and the prescribed rx were clearly past the effective stage. As an RN i know she was sober. That cop is NOT a medical professional and had no business assessing her in that "sobriety test". What a disgrace!
This cop is a fool. The company that fired her should be called out and publicly shamed. This one really got under my skin. She had such trust and faith in law enforcement before this incident. Her attitude was so admirable and trusting. Man this one got to me.

1. Officer lied about saying she didn't have her sunglasses on until the other officer pulled up.
2. He told her boss that he told her to count to 30 when he actually said "ok" to her once she hit the count of 20.
3. Cannot believe her bus company fired her before she was proven innocent.
4. Officer also lied when he said he asked her when did she take her percoset and she replied to him twice at 8:30 pm. He told the other officer that she could'nt remember after asking her the second time.

The officers were intentionally looking for any reason to arrest her for the DUI. It definitely shows a pattern of practice. They probably don’t ever find anyone who is “safe to drive,” their egos won’t let them have the belief that they’re wrong. This town’s department needs to be brought to court.

The Bus company that fired her despite being innocent is Bluefield Area Transit.
She was 100% cooperative and nailed every field sobriety test. She has the medication she takes on her CDL approved by 2 physicians but the clown with a badge, gun and hyper-suspicion knows better. Makes me sick. I hope she finds a better job with higher pay and benefits.

This cop wanted to corroborate his claim of her "Running a red light", so the DUI was fabricated!

Notice how he deliberately blurred the timeline of when she took the Percocet and when she was driving?
It was deliberate and intended to imply she was "under the influence" of Percocet while driving.
PLUS, he LIED about wearing sunglasses and about her pupils!
Which is all to justify his claim of her "running a red light."

Claims it isn't sunny, yet we see sun in his vehicles mirror and off the bus, claims the woman took meds late at night, she stated twice to him him 8:30, claims she is drunk, she didn't look or act drunk and her blood proved it. As a CDL owner you are not allowed to refuse for any reason. You are suspended just for refusing

Local West Virginian here. Had an officer once tell me that my eyes were massively dilated so I must be on something. I pointed to my left eye, and explained that this side does not dilate or contract, because of a medical condition, and numerous surgeries that I had as a baby, and always stays the same size. He pointed to my right eye, and said, well, that one is as big as a dinner plate, I said two words that shut down the conversation: it’s prosthetic.
I actually knew a girl who's pupils were naturally not the same size. One was much larger than the other.
You should have popped it out and said "Well, let's take a look"

None of the other cops could stand up and say, she’s fine! She passed the test, giver her a ticket and let it go. This pos cop was so mad she made him late to get his McDonalds so that warrants him to ruin her life!?!? He lied multiple times to his coworkers and her boss. She never changed her story or time about her meds, she passed the tests and wearing sunglasses or running a yellow light aren’t illegal. This is a bad cop that needs his life ruined now. Please help her and file a lawsuit!

She didn't "pass" the test, because no one does. Field Sobriety Tests aren't pass/fail, they are for gathering evidence against you.

I am Physical Therapist that specializes in balance testing and rehab, and she did well on all the balance tests, Add no she should not been arrested for DUI The police are not medical professionals, don't know most people can't do all these tests without some errors

It's physically impossible to pass a field sobriety test. They're completely subjective to what the officer decides to think so you fail if they decide you fail and there's no proof that you didn't. NEVER take one. You aren't required to.

The irony is good people like this women and yourself are still brainwashed in believing the cops are the good guys and the government isn’t out to get us all. Good people go along with the cops believing they have nothing to hide and are going to prove their innocence. In reality you’re giving the government every bit of “evidence “ they need with every single word and action you make. The ironic part is bad people know the truth about cops and so they are less likely to help the cops build a case against them even though they do deserve to go to jail.
She first said she took the medication at 8:30 the previous night. When asked again, she repeated 8:30. The cop lied to her boss saying she gave two different answers. The cop's negligence injured her. She lost her means of livelihood and embarrassed her without any reasonable cause. She did really well on the sobriety test. The cop was negligent and didn't know the law. He acted like he was the authority on what drugs she could and couldn't take. He should have realized that a doctor that specializes in commercial drivers knows better.
She passed the alcohol/drug test. Her employer should’ve never fired her regardless of what the cop said.

A half size bigger than hers? What is the standard for pupil size? Also she did have the sunglasses on when the cop approached her, but only took them off to search for her documents.
Particularly outrageous was the cop's condescending lecture about the illegality of taking her medications and driving over twelve hours later, which was entirely wrong.
Losing your job simply from an arrest, without a conviction, and the charges get dropped. The fact that employment law allows legally for such a termination without any real basis or reason - this is to me far, far, FAR more disgusting than what the cop did.

@@hartle4 Disagree. The standard for arrest is necessarily lower that the standard for conviction. It may well be the case the a police officer can have reasonable suspicion of a crime, arrest a person, perform further investigation and on that basis decide that the suspicion is no longer reasonable. This is perfectly normal. For an employer to be entitled to terminate employment because an employee has been arrested is ridiculous.

I’ve tried that walk and turn test in my living room completely sober. I can usually but not always do that flawlessly. The lift the leg and count test is a different story, I have a hard time doing that without putting a foot down. That happens though I’m not impaired at all.

That field sobriety test is a trap. My dad is 81 and my mom is 78 and neither one could pass that test and neither one drinks or does drugs. What a joke.
Very few people have perfect balance to do a heal-toe walk like that without having practiced it often.
