When I saw the viper weapon yesterday I knew what id be doing until the evening even as someone who hasn't cleared a huge lot of extreme/savage content blind at launch. It's just so cool and exactly what ive been looking for since the job came out
I feel like these were built with "upgraded" versions in mind. So many of them seem like they would be 10x better with a real effect, ala the manderville relics
one would think; when creating these new EX weapons, instead spending resource having two variants - glow and non-glow; one can just simply turn off the effects... i look forward to the glowy version in the future

The direction in which the gear and weapons are slowly heading is clearly recognizable: cyberpunk style. I suspect that a lot of people will like this. Personally, I don't like this style at all. But luckily you can still be glam ;)

Not a fan. All my go to classes got meh or ugly weapons. BLM & BARD awful, SMN & SCH meh, WHM cool, all gun type classes looked cool, picto was ridiculous boo, AST looked like a golden saucer weapon, SAGE good. Ugh come on I'm ready for some awesome weapons and this wasn't it.
You can see it for a few frames. I stopped the video and took a look at it and it looks like the datamined textures is bugged...either that or that's the single ugliest sword I've seen in the entire game. I guess, the guys behind the video hid it on purpose because of that.
The AST weapon feels like a reskin. I'm sure the model is unique, but the pattern of that shape and color placement we've seen so many times, I'm bored by it

well it looks like the mod they are using to reskin the weapons to the new EX weapons, could be bugged. Looks to me that they are using the Tropaios Saberfangs for the Reskinning and it only worked with the Right Blade, so they are only showing what the actual Eternal Twinfang would look like.
Some of these are hit or miss for me sadly. I think Monk and Bard the right deal with the rounded mech design fitting RoboSphene’s design. Some just just too much gold and sharp hardware for me. Vipers blades being lit up felt PERFECT so I wish they did that for Sage and some others. Idk
As a RPR main I am pleased with mine but holy crap those VPR and WHM weapons are great imo. These weapons kind of remind me of the Prime weapon in Warframe. Pretty cool for the most part.
They look really clean but I feel they missed some marks. Astro should have holo cards circulating. WM and MCH look great. SMN and SCH needs holo pages. Picto needs a holo pad and stylist. I can go on but they look alright. Just kind of meh for most of them.
So many SMN and SCH books from supposedly technologically advanced weapon set and inside is... paper. As far as I know there is only one set of books that doesn't have paper and that's the Ironworks Magitek ones from way back in endgame ARR. It's so stupid.
@@KageCMSome others look a little different. Still a paper look but a bit more interesting like the Physica and the Espiritus Recollection. I just wish they would try a bit more interesting things given how many weapons in the game have a lot of copy paste elements. I get that they want to keep trial weapons and artifact weapons super flashy and stand out the most. But adding some fx here and there wouldn’t hurt especially if it compliments the overall aesthetic. At best it looks like a missed opportunity. At worst, it looks lazy.
Once again undyable gear...i swear they advertised this expension with the dual dye system and we still only get dungeon and trial gear which cannot be dyed

FX-wise, they cooked only with the MCH and VPR weapons. Everything else is kinda bland? But good color palette.

Viper is one of the weakest no matter how much glazing VPR mains do. RpR, Picto, MCH are good

@BranBal Not on launch. Eventually, they add in being able to craft glowy versions of them. I really think we should get them on launch.
They really weren't cooking with the 1st stage of these relics.
