I bought a Shopsmith Mk 5 in 1983 in San Antonio (they had one of many stores throughout the country catering to a lot of military people. I added the accessories over the years. Service with the company was outstanding with service people calling me back even it it was after (their) working hours. I built my garage the inside of my house with this unit and hand tools. I did not require rebuilding it. Now I am getting a Mark 7 to benefit from the added power, the small space taken while keeping my Mk 5. This is an American tool company, a rare one! Let us support them - "They" are our people and they are "old school", i.e. they stand by what they sell. Peace be with you all, Ciao, L (Veteran)

Mr. McCann, I’ve already mentioned this to Mr. Nick Cupps, this is what I told him. Perhaps you could look into it and advise him?
"Mr. Nick Cupps, I have owned and use a Shopsmith since I retired from the military. Especially enjoy it's sturdy build and it’s versatility!
Something I think you might check with Mr. McCann on, is to advertise and demonstrate the use of the drill press mode for light wood and aluminum milling. Since the lateral forces are typically the same as when the shopsmith is used for shaping and routing, it can be used for light milling also. The previous owners have not highleted this selling point."

I am glad you did this unboxing. It answers many questions about exactly what comes with the Mark 7.

Thanks! There's a lot of stuff that comes with the MARK 7, so we're happy to make that clear.

@@shopsmith Particularly the shaper arbor was shown as being included which is not listed in the Mark 7 owners manual as one of the standard accessories.

A well done video. I like the Shopsmith turning logo with the spinning saw blade sound. 👍👍

I wish you had this available a couple of years ago when I bought my Mark 7. It would have saved me more than just a couple of hours between the partts list and the box trying to figure out what all the wrapped parts were for and where they went.

Alex's outfit works if you are a wood worker or social media marketer. Very resource efficient.

@@shopsmith Yes, and it is a great woodworking setup...owned the Mark 7 for two and a half years now and as a new woodworker made many useful things. Also I can still park both my cars in the garage!

Where did they find an honest to goodness Jim McCann in that condition. My Dad had one of the early mccanns with most of the attachments including the much sought after follicular head unit cover . It think my uncle has it now in his barn. I should ask him about it. This one looks pretty good considering it's a greenie.
