This notion that he was a complete failure in MN is a bit overstated. He was a disappointment to be sure because Minnesota didn't win with him in 1990 or 91 (14-18). I guess the Colts got legitimacy. As far as I know from my own experience most Hoosiers remained Bears fans only the 1995 season when the Colts were a missed hail mary from the SB, then Manning came along a few years later.
Anybody saying that Herschel wasn't good with the Vikings didn't actually watch the games or else they didn't know what they were watching. Look at his numbers. He wasn't the problem, the owner was. Herschel's contract was incentive heavy. I watched him get 90 yards in the first quarter numerous times, only to see him pulled from the game to make sure he didn't get 100 for the game. 2 QB'S ended up losing the ability to audible because their kept changing the play to give the ball to Herschel. He was catching 60 passes a year at a time when the average for a running back was around 25. And he averaged over 4.5 ypc in a outdated, useless system that was set up for failure
Yeah Walker was screwed by the Vikings system, that's for sure. He was a fantastic player. It still made a massive amount of sense for Dallas to trade him - the rest of the Dallas squad was near useless. Having an all-pro RB surrounded by a bunch of nobodies doesn't equal a winning team. This video doesn't really do justice explaining how they structured the trade to get one over on the Vikings either. Originally they traded for players but Dallas brought up that they wanted some kind of guarantee or consolation if the players they traded for didn't work out. That's what prompted the Vikings to offer the conditional draft picks - they knew the players they were trading were almost assuredly better than what Dallas had (which was mostly true) so the Vikings didn't think they'd have to give up the picks at all. Then Jimmy Johnson just cut all of the players because he was REALLY after the draft picks. There was a significant amount of subterfuge involved in this trade and the Vikings were blindsided by Johnson cutting ALL of the players to take ALL of the draft picks. On top of that the practice of trading up draft picks was pretty much never done in the league at this point. Johnson took his raft of picks and started calling other teams offering them draft picks in earlier years so he could get more or better picks in later years. He was able to parlay those 6 draft picks he mugged the Vikings for into nearly an entire team of top draft picks just 3-4 years later. Of course since then, teams have wised up considerably and now they value draft picks much more highly. Johnson played a trick nobody had really used before and he got the maximum value out of it, then turned that windfall into even more by innovating draft pick trading and being patient.
Watching the college football season and the weeks leading up to the draft I was 99.9% convinced that Trent Richardson wasn't going to be a successful/consistent starting running back. I was baffled by how many people/nfl analysts hyped him up.
why? explain it, I remember his season with Bama and he was a beast, nobody can stop him, even LSU in the bcs, i said it was like every year: Browns are a dumpster fire. Maybe on another team he could be a real beast
Funny how right at the moment the one guys says: "if Deion Branch were catching passes all year instead of Reche Caldwell and Doug Gabriel ...." Brady throws a lazy ball way behind the receiver right into the arms of Marlon Jackson....
When Caldwell was uncovered on that 4th quarter play, then just stood there instead of running to the end zone, and THEN dropped a wide open pass I commented to my family "I guarantee you he won't be there next years." He dropped another easy catch too.
Thank you redskins for trading Denver Champ Bailey ...clinton portis was cool but Bailey is my fav CB of all time and im a broncos fan so it was a win win lol.
There are more trades that should be mentioned in the best of the rest. The Dolphins trade Chris Chambers to the Chargers, The Browns trade Braylon Edwards to the Jets, The Panthers trade Kelvin Benjamin to the Bills, The Patriots trade Jimmy Garoppolo to the 49ers.
I think BB knew Jimmy was going to be injure prone I mean if you look back he gets badly injured first or second game, jacoby gets injured and forced to play on one leg for a game. It's why both got tossed they got injured I bet in a year or two another QB will get drafted for the pats anyways. Though if our RBs can't stay healthy and Gronk leaves it might be three or four.
This trade is responsible for not only the cowboy dynasty but for boosting Jerry’s ego. When they started winning he starts taking all the credit for those Super Bowls. In a sense yes it’s true but he’s been on one since lol
Jesus, I never realized how much Dallas got for trading Herschel Walker if Jimmy had stayed they could have won 5 or 6 Super Bowls that whole team was young and talented
Never underestimate the power of an ego to bring something down. And the other thing about this trade was the guy who helped engineer it and knew what he was doing.
As a Seattle fan I never understood why we kept getting these old ass WRs like Branch....We also decided to grab Jerry Rice when he was already prehistoric...Matter fact even in our other sports the Sonics went and got Patrick Ewing which was damn near elderly abuse with the way he was walking around and his mountain sized knee pads
I remember seeing Herschel Walker running out of his shoe against Green Bay and thinking finally the Vikings are not only going to win a super bowl, but probably 2 or 3 minimum. Well it’s 2020 and the Vikings are still losers with zero super bowl wins or appearances since. They have lost an incredible 6 straight NFC championship games though so there’s that.
8:15 Hue Jackson: "I just wanted to give my team hope." Translation: "if I can have a winning season I'll save my job, who cares what we give up in the future."
Man the Marshawn Lynch trade pissed off my friend (Bills Fan) because C.J. Spiller was hurt and Fred Jackson was the only good RB even though he was up there in Age. Still that Run he did against the Saints still rattling!
Trading Trent Richardson to the Colts for a first rounder was the SMARTEST thing the Browns have done up until that point since 1999. You would think that they do smart stuff with their two first rounders. They trade their fourth pick, which was their own first rounder, to the Bills (Sammy Watkins) and now had the ninth overall pick. They swap spots with the Vikings to select Justin Gilbert, one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory. The Vikings select Anthony Barr. With the pick from the Colts, they traded up to select Johnny Manziel, one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory. The Eagles received their pick, and drafted Marcus Smith, who was out of the league last season. In total, with these trades, the Browns: - missed out on a combined four Pro Bowls - have selected not one, but two mega draft busts - did not improve their team one bit - selected Manziel ahead of Bridgewater, who is still in the league and will start next season Its just awful. Until the Browns actually start winning, dont tell me anything about how good they are on paper.

@@danlorett2184 Another reason to hate Dallas, if you really needed one.
T-Rich to the Colts has gotta be in the top three! That was an absolute dressing down of the Colts front office!
The funny thing was Trent was their best RB on that 2014 Colts team that went to the AFC Championship Game.

The final Kick in the ass about the Herschel Walker deal...he ends up signing on as a free agent in 1996...with Dallas
Jimmy G Trade is definitlly interesting to have another Look at
“IN-season trades”
I think BB knew Jimmy was going to be injure prone I mean if you look back he gets badly injured first or second game, jacoby gets injured and forced to play on one leg for a game. It's why both got tossed they got injured I bet in a year or two another QB will get drafted for the pats anyways. Though if our RBs can't stay healthy and Gronk leaves it might be three or four.
This show was made years ago
The Roy Williams Trade is bad, but the biggest mistake Jerry Jones has ever made was passing up on Randy Moss
“When your franchise gives up your best player” *Has Calvin Johnson
Good to see you Wess. Miss you.
This trade is responsible for not only the cowboy dynasty but for boosting Jerry’s ego. When they started winning he starts taking all the credit for those Super Bowls. In a sense yes it’s true but he’s been on one since lol
The Minnesota Vikings, via the Hershel Walker trade, deserve more credit for the Cowboy's Super Bowls of the 1990's than Jerry.
@@dad4ever-c90 He needs to be in the Cowboys Hall of Fame lol
Where can I find classic nfl drafts on here? You guys should start uploading them to your channel
Dickerson probably made more in college than he did in the NFL
Good stuff.
I caught some of the video in between the ads. Fun.
Jordy Nelson…
Dickerson's first 4 years were the stuff of legend. Guy was running downhill at the snap.
Being on the sidelines with TO sounds so fun.
“It’s not often that you leave Detroit and things get worse” 🤣🤣🤣
Carson Palmer to the Raiders for a radio announcer to be named later.......LOL!!!!!!!!!!
The Bills May have won the #2 trade. They sent Greg Bell to the Rams and got Cornelius Bennett from the Colts.
2:20 what the hell kind of dance is that?!?
The John Hadl trade- lot of talk about what they gave the Rams, but what exactly did the Rams do WITH those picks?
I remember seeing Herschel Walker running out of his shoe against Green Bay and thinking finally the Vikings are not only going to win a super bowl, but probably 2 or 3 minimum. Well it’s 2020 and the Vikings are still losers with zero super bowl wins or appearances since. They have lost an incredible 6 straight NFC championship games though so there’s that.
Always nice to watch this before the trade deadline
8:15 Hue Jackson: "I just wanted to give my team hope." Translation: "if I can have a winning season I'll save my job, who cares what we give up in the future."
Man the Marshawn Lynch trade pissed off my friend (Bills Fan) because C.J. Spiller was hurt and Fred Jackson was the only good RB even though he was up there in Age. Still that Run he did against the Saints still rattling!
ND: We love Dan Devine
Chiefs: So do we
Colts:Ditto
GB: Us not so much
Snacks Harrison to Detroit for a couple of magic beans
Favre from Atlanta to the Packers?...
32:14 Lets just say the Vikings traded away almost all their draft picks for the next draft or 2 drafts.
I’m surprised that Mike Ditka did the same thing three Texas Longhorns running back
4:30 hats off to you, that is some damn good photoshopping.
Who was Marshawn Lynch talking about at 20:54-21:01, again?...
In total, with these trades, the Browns:
- missed out on a combined four Pro Bowls
- have selected not one, but two mega draft busts
- did not improve their team one bit
- selected Manziel ahead of Bridgewater, who is still in the league and will start next season
Its just awful. Until the Browns actually start winning, dont tell me anything about how good they are on paper.
That very unfunny German Borg guy isn't in this!!!
THIS IS GREAT!!
No Fred Dean to the 49ers in 1981 from the Chargers?
one of the best
Amari Cooper to the Cowboys will be on this list in a few years. Book it.
4:02 lolololol this guy made a funny.
Herschel Walker trade
For Cowboy fans (which I am not), best trade ever.
For Vikings fans, WTF was our GM even thinking?
I've watched this until the 33:33 mark, and was interrupted 13 times by ads!!
Can't even enjoy my popcorn, as I was busy skipping the ads.. Even a regular TV shows don't have this many ads in 30 minutes!!!
I still think it’s wild that a running back as dominant as Eric Dickerson was never won a ring. It’s almost criminal, honestly.
What did you expect? Dude rather wanted to get paid than win super bowls, went to the teams with the least chances too, the rams after their window closed? The god damn colts of the 80s? And finished it off with the falcons before their dirty bird run
Keep crying, rush. Almost criminal??
