M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Wes Lang, and Roger Gastman (owner of Beyond The Streets) sat down for an intimate discussion about this merging of art, music, and culture.

Hey I feel ya. Or at least I did. Been listening to them since the beginning and got to see them 3 times with The Rev and last time they came in my state was 2016-2017 maybe. So I’ve been missing them to come somewhere close. They’re fantastic live. They record their stuff raw so when they play live it’s almost as if the album was being played live man. Matt’s voice might not be the best in the business but god damn does he have such down to earth tone man that makes you feel the music. I also wanna see Brooks Wackerman live as well. The guy fits so damn well with avenged i was sad to see him leave bad religion whom I also love but was glad to see him go to a band that’s perfect for letting him cut loose.
I saw them in Little Rock, AR for 2011 Edgefest, about a year after Nightmare came out. It was a great show, I’d love to see them again especially with Brooks.
I did monday the 24th in Amsterdam ;) It just rocked!
Finally Brian came to an interview, it's been a while.
Albums a complete departure from any norms, if The Stage took us into space, this album took us into a new plane of existance. Thank you all for your hard work!

This album dropped right when i needed it. These guys have always helped me through everything so its fitting that it dropped the same day i reached my limit
This man is so influential in a good way I would recommend this band to anybody who is going through life in a rough manner let you know it'll open your eyes proud to be a fan of mr. Shadows and his rock and roll band😅😂😅😂

Even though I'm at work, I stayed awake way too late to listen to it about 3 times
LIBAD is a very significant album. I don’t know how History will remember it but it should be regarded as maybe one of the most important albums of the 2020s. The music, the lyrics, the artwork the videos everything is masterfully well done.
I think it’s so wild to learn where the art came from, I have been Mesmerized by it since I had first seen it, it’s amazing what happens when such creative minds come together. It was so worth the wait! I think it’s also wild how well each album has fit into my life. They’re always toying with the different genres and styles that I love. And the themes follow the same thoughts and questions and stuff I’ve been goin through. I think they’ve helped opened my mind, especially when I was so young. They help me move forward and I only hope I can help them move forward aswell. I’m proud that this is the first album that I’ll finally be able to see them live! This album has left me with so many emotions that I can’t even process! I’m glad we’ve made it this far!
If there was a meteor heading straight towards earth and there was only an hour left to live, I'm putting this album on!! This album is Avenged Sevenfold's "The Wall" in my opinion, just an absolute masterpiece front to back. It's been so long since I've listened to an album 2 times in a row... and the very first time I've listened to an album 3 times in a row like I did with this one. Thank you guys so much for this gift of an album, it may just be my favorite album of all time. 🤘❤
I’m 47 years old. I been following A7x since my early 30’s. I have all there albums but this one and the stage are my favorite this band I just awesome . There’s music has help me through some roof times in my life thank you A7X.

Always loved the band's IDGAF abt what people think and just do what they know best. And i've always loved their reminders to live, get your shit together, seize the day etc. in their music, songs and lyrics. It's amazing that Wes Lang completely relates to them in this very manner and in his art as well. It's a match made in heaven, really. Particularly liked when Wes said "This isn't dark. This is hopeful, an in your face reminder to live." That just resonated with me and reverberated through my soul. I felt that.

Album is so from the core, expressing outward with no regard for preconceived perceptions.
I'm graduating from high-school tomorrow and this album was probably the greatest thing I could have experienced before the next stage of my life, what a great way to end my childhood with a new album a day prior. Loving the steps that they're taking with their music and the symbolism in this album, what a masterpiece.

I never paid attention to this band. Of course I had listened to some of their hits but never got hooked to them.
After listening LIBAD non-stop for two weeks, I can say it is the best Metal record of the 21st century so far.
Metal needs this kind of creative and meaningful works.

Remember when they transationed from Waking The Fallen to City Of Evil?? Nobody really like that one, and these guys being called as a "mainstream rock emo". And here we are, getting that moment again.
And yeah, this album is incredible, they are evolved, there is so much things they did with this one.

If they make a récord like City of evil or Waking thw fallen again, people will say that they are to old to play that and dont evolve.

The new album opened a portal to a place inside of me that I really needed to reconnect with and "feel" life again. I'm really excited for the guys to see where they go from here. Wes Is a incredible artist on his own and like he says, "It just happened." That's when you know something touched him and was able to pour his soul on paper or canvas for us all to share, together. We as humans can come together and share "art" from musicians and an artist while the crazy world revolves around us, we are together, at peace and stepping thru that door that had been opened for us .

I couldn't have taken him to a better show to be his 1st concert!! I wanted to see them so bad, We parked .5 miles from the venue in a $30 lot, walked in 90°+ heat though I needed my walker & stopped 3-4x on the way to get to the venue. I'd do it again & again!!
I could have parked closer, but to stretch my $ & all of us chose a tour shirt for memories & enjoyed great food, one killer show and I will forever thank you guys for the experience with my 2 kids!! Forever Priceless! I might be older but I do love to rock! Get well quick Syn!!

Im now 35, just beat cancer recently, and I have a son that's 4 and he knows every album y'all have made..even has the diamonds in the rough album. Music is one of our best ways to bond and before I was a father, your albums got me thru some crazy shit. I even proposed while "warmness on the soul" played in the background. What a journey it's been.

You guys did a master peace. Your album is so good. Mr shadow’s voice has change so much but in a good way. And synyster gates playing has become more structured and that solo in nobody is the perfect exemple what a good solo, probably one of my favorites ever. Esse, como todo álbum de metal progressivo, pode soar estranho na primeira ouvida. Mas dê mais uma chance e não vai se arrepender. O álbum é genial. É ótimo. Parabéns por inovar mais uma vez Avenged Sevenfold.
Falou simplesmente tudo! Ouvindo pela primeira vez, esperava ouvir as fases anteriores do A7X. Prosseguindo este primeiro contato, achei uma ou duas musicas diretamente interessantes, mas expandindo a mente e entendendo a intenção progressiva pretendida pela banda, afirmo neste exato momento que este será um dos álbuns mais importantes do gênero nos póximos anos.
eu achava que depois do 'The Stage' não teria mais nada de novo pra se fazer, mas quando ouvi o album todo fiquei genuinamente surpreendido. Pra mim é um dos melhores albums que ja fizeram. Top 3 fácil

as mostly a non-metalhead these days to me this sounds like modern era Angel Dust, what was groundbreaking metal album 30 years ago and this here is even more of that in current scene. and this art, man... how can anyone not like Wes Lang! plus, he has 222 on his wrist.
Wes Lang's paintings are far better than most art these days.

This album feels like there’s a follow up, a 2 parter

This album is very dark in the sense that the tracks lack to demonstrate what the lyrics transmit to you I feel that it is a story of Pain, redemption (suicide), and peace., if I'm wrong I would like to see more.
The album is what you want it to be but the general theme they intended was a few things.
1. Life changes rapidly hence the random section changes to something totally different.
2. The sudden ending to some of the songs indicates that life can always just stop for no apparent reason.
I myself am still soaking it in I just gave the whole album a solid listen on the drive home from work. So far it is wonderful in terms of a listening experience however I really wished they would have taken that game over song and made an entire song in that style but that's not what this record is about. This also happened to be the finally record they owed Warner Brothers so I suppose they went out with a bang.
If I had an opportunity to make 1 change it possibly would have simply been for them to keep that play style for game over the entire song it was easily one of my favorites however that's not what this record was about so it doesn't matter.

Killer, especially the solo section. I think most love watching a pro at this level and see them laugh off a couple “mistakes.” It allows for those of us not at that level to feel connected for a brief moment during an otherwise flawless and captivating performance. 🤘🏼

Avenged Sevenfold's artistic versatility is very powerful. I don't care if they make an album with NES video game sounds on it, for as long as it has the trademark sevenfold groove, melodic catchy choruses, and of course the stylish guitar solos.
Is to wake up and free yourself from the system. Is not dark.
