Had my 2022 since late 2021. Absolutely love it. What an incredibly fun car to daily drive. Its not "fast" but it is always fun for sure. I dont want to sound like some old guy gatekeeper, but in all honesty this is a vehicle that is absolutely never acceptable to buy with an automatic transmission. The heart and soul of this platform exists and is built around the driving pleasure of the manual trans.
That center console looks amazing. A good size screen, physical buttons, and even climate control knobs! I hope they bring that to all subarus and ditch the 11in screen
@@notme232 unfortunately Subaru will likely keep the 11” displays for all of the other cars. This one is easy to use though and I like the rocker switches for the climate controls. Would be nice to see them move this one to the WRX also
@@alexpmo I know...unless there is enough evidence/studies showing these "all-touch" systems are actually more dangerous and a government starts to regulates it, a big screen is a lot cheaper than physical controls. Props to Subaru for taking orders on the BRZ. Apparently Toyota does not allow this with the GR86, and customers can only choose from the dealership's inventory allotment. Granted the GR86 production numbers are probably double that of the BRZ, from what I gather, but still! I took delivery of my 2024 BRZ tS in May and I'm obsessed with it.
Hi ya Alex - YEAH - finally a BRZ video - thank you very much!!! I picked up my BRZ tS on 30 August and I have played with some of the features. Still would like for you to go through the infotainment system comprehensively though. Thank you very much I look forward to more BRZ videos. Stay safe and healthy!
At one time I was looking at this, versus the Mazda Miata RF. When I was getting ready to possibly buy one, I was considering the BRZ more, because I could put my daughter in the back since she's tiny. In the end, practicality hit, and I ended up buying an Outback Touring XT. LoL
I ordered a 2024 in the end of February; and received mine on 6/5/24. I absolutely love my 2024 Limited in Silver for sticker price. It’s a blast to drive❕🏎️❣️
Even the sticker price isn't all that bad honestly. I figured $40k+. Even the top line TZ is around $35k not too bad, given the ridiculous prices of very dull, boring cars from other automakers that are front wheel drive. That BRZ doesn't look too bad, at least they stuck with a Boxer engine rather than using something from Toyota....just not sure why they didn't stick a turbo on the BRZ's engine given its supposed to be a "Sports" car....it seems to me the turbo would much more belong on the BRZ than the regular old Subaru Forester or Outback models LOL.
Hey Alex just bought a 2022 BRZ Limited Trim! Followed your advice! I absolutely love it! Definitely the longterm car I wanna have and enjoy driving! 🙏🏼💯😄
I ordered my Sapphire Blue Premium BRZ on 1 July 2024 from Subaru of Gainesville, Florida. It's scheduled to hit the port in Brunswick next week. Can't wait to take delivery.
Loved this video. I really enjoy your videos and have watched and learned a lot from them. Keep those videos coming. I have been a Subaru owner for over 20 years and just love the ones that were closer to the ground as the handling is incredible on them and fun to drive. Unfortunately I had to switch to a higher riding Subaru due to a family member that is now handicapped and was unable to get out of my lower riding Subaru. While my 2022 Subaru Forester Touring is a nice vehicle, it does not handle as well going around the curves and has some roll to it that I do not care for.
Try and find a set of heavier duty tires if you can, that will help with some of your body roll....regular car tires have very soft sidewalls which contribute to a lot of your body roll and stability issues. I like the higher ride of crossovers in general, I don't care to have to crawl in and fall out of a car that sits so low.....but I don't care to need a ladder to get into one either LOL. The ride height of the Forester is about right I think, and I want one with the Wilderness trim...the slight jump in ground clearance would be nice for the deeper snow we sometimes get.
I tried to buy one last year, but was told I would have to put in an order and wait 4 months. I gave up and bought a MINI Cooper instead. I have read they don't sell well, it's probably because no one can find one on the lot to buy.
If Subaru makes a Touring trim level that focuses on the ride quality, quieter cabin, and MSRP below $37k. I’ll preorder one. I like the style of BRZ and don’t intend to take it to the track. Just looking for a comfortable daily that is a bit fun to drive.
You finally got one because they barely sell, but that probably has more to do with the economy than the car itself. If the backseat was usable, it could then be a primary car for more drivers.
Panic stops are quicker with an auto, unless you are a jam down clutch and brake at the same time kind of guy. My brain wouldn't think to do that. On a side note..what happens if you just plow on the brake without clutching? We have a lot of deer in MI.
Sawzall can fix that LOL. Not a fan of that crap in a vehicle, they tend to have leaks which you don't know about until its already caused a lot of hidden damage, as well as getting stuck partially open or closed, etc. My Jeep Liberty has a sunroof, I don't use it at all. Had to get a vehicle and it was one I stumbled across with low miles and very clean, so I went with it anyhow even with the sunroof, I just don't open it LOL.
@TheCarCareNut has a really good video on why they are a bad idea. TLDW: leaks and stuff will ruin the interior and maintenance of them is a pain. It's also weakens the structure of the car, due to a giant hold in the roof.
@@robertmeigs5176 sorry about that! Just trying to show the display up close as I went through the settings. In previous videos like this people have asked me to zoom in.
It won’t happen. There is a reason it’s RWD. You wouldn’t be able to drift the same in AWD. Also they would have to change the name because as the vid says, the R in the name of BRZ stands for “Rear Wheel Drive”. Stick to your WRX lol.

When you disconnect the fake engine sound, is it quieter on the highway or just during up shift?

He said it was good on gas mileage 🤦🏻♂️😂 My 2024 manual is rated at 20 city and 27 highway. Other than that great video.
Ouch
It gets better than that on a regular basis. By best is 34mpg. My worst is 17mpg. Normal highway is 29mpg. Sounds good to me!
Which is considered the more 'sports car', BRZ or WRZ?
Two totally different platforms. The BRZ is a RWD track car while the WRX is the AWD rally car.

Is it possible to turn off the lighting up of the dash to change gears? Turn off the auto downshift?
