    I got one for wood coatings
    2 nozzles
    1.0 for stains and 1.4 for clear poly
    I’ve been loving this little guy, it’s my at home gun when I do little projects, I’ll probably have it until I die lol

      Hi buddy, I know some people like these, I'm not one really. Longevity seems to crop up a lot when talking to Walcom owners. Hopefully, your will last you well, cheers, buddy 👍

    These are GREAT guns. I use the 1.0 HVLP with flawless results.

      Hi John, yeah, I've had a few people tell me they love these, I just can't get really good results from them.
      It's not a bad gun It's just for me many are better and cheaper.
      In my head, the real challenger to this is the DV1s, a similar price so regarded as a top-end gun, just like the Walcom, the DV1s is streets ahead really, it atomises much finer at a lower pressure, LPH80 is another, not as big a fan or as fast as the Walcom but super fine atomisation, the Meiji Finer Spot is also much better.
      It may just be me, I know it happens sometimes that someone's style just doesn't suit something, or maybe HVLP is a better gun, most that have said its good use HVLP, thanks for watching John, have a good New Year 👍

    Hi Pete, bought the ANI 160 after your review and run it from my Hyundai 50 silent compressor, this handles 3 car panels easily so I’m considering selling my large compressor. I’ve just ordered an R500 gun and the mini gun from Poland from eBay, this is the same as the sprayit 33,000 and several other guns. These only use 3.9 cfm and give a decent fan size. Have you tried these guns would be interested in your thoughts. Paid under 60.00 for both guns.

      Hi Timmy, not tried either, haven't heard of them but looking the 500 up it looks like a sort of W400 type thing going on although the cap looks a little generic compared to the layout of the holes on the various W400 guns

      @@peteshobbies5383 One or two of the American lads are using them paint society and garage noise, maybe one you want to try at that price. The air consumption can easily be handled by a 50 L compressor.

    Good video
    Was just wondering if you happen to know in inches what was the height of the spray gun pattern ?
    Thanks

      Hi Chris, it's about 8 inches from memory that would be around 6 to 7 inches away

    Hi I'm curious about the 1.4 Hte cap. I think it will perform much better than the 1.2. If you come across it can you make a video? I might pick one up soon.

      Hi Steven, If I ever get one, then yes, of course. Sometimes, as you say, the bigger tips can be better , the Pro Lite S TE5 is better, imo for clearcoat in 1.4, although it's not the case with the W300WB where 1.2 is better imo although you can turn down the 1.4 to mimic the 1.2 output and get the same results, cheers mate 👍

      @@peteshobbies5383 That's good information thank you! I usually use 1.4 caps. Good to know it can perform similar to 1.2 when needed.

    Hi Pete,
    I've got the EGO 1.2 and ANI f160 1.3 Just started using them for the first time.
    (both guns have same setup in terms of full fan, fluid and air adjustment)
    Although the pressure for both guns is set to 1.8 bar the output-airflow is more powerful from the Ego which create fog in the room for how fine it sprays.
    I am wondering if this happen because of the 1.2 nozzle and if its totally normal?
    Thank you, love your videos!

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Рік тому +1

      Hi Roland, do you mean the ANI R160 rather than the F160? , the F160 is full size and would make more overspray than the Ego so I'm thinking you mean the R160.
      The Ego runs around 2.0 bar and the R160 around 2.5 to 3.5 bar, depending on if its base or clear so I think you are getting more overspray from the Ego because it is closer to full working pressure

      @@peteshobbies5383 Hi Pete,
      its an F160 the one I have.
      So basically I've been spraying primer with this gun with a 1.3 - 2bar pression with full fan and air but the airflow seem way too weak compared to the Ego. Probably im missing something cos im new to it. I paint wood.

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Рік тому +2

      What are you spraying with the Ego?, primer is normally more dense and wont make as much overspray so maybe that's the reason?, certainly spraying the same material the F160 should create more overspray than an EGO

    • @deceptivestudio
      @deceptivestudio Рік тому

      @@peteshobbies5383 Hi Pete, I'm using the Ego to spray a matte PU clear coat for wood. 50% paint, 50% hardener and 10% PU thinner.
      Maybe I shouldn't use thinner?

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Рік тому +1

      Normally, the thinner the material the more overspray you can get so thinning it more wouldn't help, check what the TDS says and stick to that, sometimes if you thin things out too much it will shrink afterwards.
      You will get overspray with any spraygun, some more than others, the LPH80 for example has low overspray but has a smaller fan than the Ego

    Hi Pete, hope you had a great Crimbo with lots of new guns to show us😁😂
    I'm really surprised with your findings mate as I always thought this was the bees knees of mini guns but I can see from the video that the finish is not what you normally put out, the gun seems to give a peeley finish🤔
    I think some will say that it's to cold but if they know you well then they will know you are capable of getting a first class finish in the cold which is just the same as if it was 20C, if you know what you are doing then 5C is fine and you certainly know how to paint in the cold.
    I can see you are moving quite slow to get a full wet coat on Pete, have you tried reducing the fan size and/or moving the gun closer to the panel, it seems like the transfer efficiency isn't that good almost like it's over atomising the clear, you've tried upping the pressure so maybe try a lower pressure, you've probably tried all these things as you know more about spraying than I do, this gun is a bit like the DV1S as in it's way over priced🙄🤦‍♂Thanks Pete👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  2 роки тому

      Hi John, I've tried loads of different things with the 190, lower & higher pressures as well as reducing fan pattern and distance, but not much works really.
      Your right, I was going slow just to get some material on the panel, I think I said some may say it's not designed for a full panel but most minis will happily do a panel or two.
      It's not a bad gun but it's hard work to get anywhere, if it was £100 you would say it was good value but it's £375!
      Cheers John, hope your Christmas was ok 👍

    • @JohnWD40TC02
      @JohnWD40TC02 2 роки тому

      I thought you might have tried all those things mate but it was worth a mention, it's a shame you don't like it as it's a nice looking gun but if it's hard work then there is no point as you have better guns in your collection, so do you think it's slower than the DV1S? it certainly looked it🤔
      Yeah my Christmas was ok mate, didn't do anything but had a good roast turkey ☺🤤😋 I'm not that keen on Xmas these days since my wife passed😥👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  2 роки тому

      It's not that bad but it is really expensive so you expect more, I don't think it's slower than the DV1s if anything it's a little faster but because it doesn't atomise as fine the only way to make up for it is to put plenty of clear on in the hope it will flow out nicely, the DV1s doesn't have to do that, neither does the W300WB for that matter.
      The only thing I'm wondering is all those that have said it's good, and I think without exception they have had the HVLP cap which I don't, it's the only thing I can think of as a difference.
      Just had a few hours playing with the Silhouette Studio Software, there no instructions so your on your own 🤣 I'm doing ok though, cheers John 👍

    Hi Pete, good honest video this one! It’s a shame that you don’t get on with the gun but as you say this maybe more suited to other painters where they may struggle with the likes of the R160 as you mentioned and others as well. I could see you really trying hard to get a good finish on the 2nd round of clear to the point the style was uncomfortable for you, just an assumption on my part really. Good video though. Hope you had a great Christmas. Cheers Pete.

      Hi Steve, yes mate, all good here thanks, hope yours was good once work was out the way.
      Your right, it was getting uncomfortable using it with clear coat, I really have tried with it, if it was £100 I would say it's a good gun but they are £375 which is as high as it gets in mini gun's so imo it taking on everything and it's just not got it at that level.
      Thanks for watching mate, are you working new years eve? , just me and the Mrs staying in this year so no drama hopefully, cheers mate 👍
