- Hey baby, it's grilling season!! These meaty ribs get coated with a three-ingredient spice rub before making their way to a medium-heat grill. There, they gradually and gloriously take on color, render their fat, absorb delicious smoky aromas from the coals, and build up a fantastic crust. This is one of my favorite recipes from the "I Love to Grill" chapter of That Sounds So Good. Cosmo drops by for a critical taste test-do you think he will approve?? Come hang out with me in my backyard and get all juiced up for a summer of outdoor cooking.

100% agree. Carla could upload a 30 minute video about heating up a can of soup, and I'd watch every second of it.
You can make these on any grill-charcoal or gas-in your backyard, on the beach, at a campsite. You can also make them indoors in a hot oven. The video gives full instrux. Hope you enjoy, you crazy kids. xoxo

the best thing about the book is how almost every ingredient is given like 3 or 4 potential substitutions, which is so helpful because i tend to panic when i don't have a certain ingredient for a recipe

I love Carla's both of cookbooks. It would be cool to see an episode where she goes over some of her favorite cookbooks for home cooks and if there are some that have inspired her own recipes and cookbook. I don't see a lot of people talk about it and I'm wondering if there's something beyond The Joy of Cooking, Fanny Farmer, and Julia Childs that I'm missing out on.

The ribs look amazing. Definitely not a traditional rub mix and not complex either ... fairly simple. Could we not find a way to get a little garlic in there to the party somehow though? 😁 As for being too hot in the summertime to cook out, being from the deep South we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. When it's 95 degrees out that's when you want to cook outdoors so the heat stays out there where it belongs instead of heating up your kitchen!
