Just found your channel, have subed! I'm 60 yrs old. Firewood guy. For the home stove. Cut mainly oak and hickory here in Ga. For almost 25 years, my saw was a Husky 266 XP. It was a faithful friend and outstanding tool. Last year, it finally played out. Worn out. Multiple issues. I decided it was time to buy a new saw. I deserved it! Did not like the new Huskies. Read many reviews. I bought and held my breath a Echo 620. I'm a die hard husky man and it was hard leaving the brand. My first saw job with my new 620 was a very large oak log. I WAS SHOCKED at the power this saw had. Almost frightened. No lie. It is a bad mfr. More powerful than my 266! AMAZING POWER. On my own, I found the filter issue and placed a rubber O ring. I salute the Japanese engineers who developed this saw. It is destined to be a classic.

My first saw was a old cs302 in 1987 then was a Stihl guy and went to Husqvarna and was a husky guy now I'm back to the ones I should've stuck with climb with a Cs2511 and run a ported 590 upgraded carb and coil and don't have a need for anything else been thinking about a ported Cs4910

I love my 620p it was the first saw I bought myself and I now have the 501p and just ordered a 7310 and these echos are hands down the best performing chainsaws hands down I also own the 562and 550xp as well as a jonsered 2172(my favorite saw it was left to me by my late uncle from his collection it was brand new And unused at the time of his passing and everytime I use it I feel like he's standing next to me ) I love them but these echos are just Animals unbeatable power and out of this world price and reliability

I’m considering the 550xp as well as the 261cm. Echo has my attention now. I want a lot of power but nothing crazy heavy. I’m considering the 620. If it was a touch lighter it would be the one for sure. What is y’all’s thoughts?

Magnesium case means a LOT to me this time 'round buying a new saw, as I had to rebuild one that got hot and used JBWeld to build up the bearing seat on the drive side, magnesium wouldn't have deformed at the same temps. How I found Echo: I used a friend's Echo top-handle a few times and his Echo weedwhacker dozens of times and was impressed with the Echo equipment. Then I picked up a 58v Echo weedbuster, and later the 16" 58v saw. Their electric CS really impressed me. So then I bought a gasser whacker for a brush blade. Now, rather than spending a few days finding all the stuff to tune up/repair my vintage saws, I'm going to grab a 620 and hack on the muffler, hang a 20-24" out front, and tune by ear. I'll be interested to see how this 620 cuts next to my stock 7900 (if I ever put the new coil in). Just fire-woodin' and keeping the lanes/fences clear. I don't see any reason to not buy Echo from here out. Stihl lost me years ago with their flippi-dippi fuel caps. I love some old Dolmars and the Swedes (JohnnyReds) have been good to me as well. OH yeah, and I have that 2100 Husky for stuff bigger than I should be foolin' with.
Love a sweet running saw on a sharp chain in clean wood, eat it baby--MAKE THEM CHIPS!

Best review I've seen on these saws brother 👍 Alot of saw for the money. Mite not be the fastest out there but they are built like tanks and last a long time under heavy use. The 590 is good but the 620 is better for heavy duty use for not much more money. Good point on the metal clutch cover and heat dissipation. That and having a free flow muffler to get rid of heat. Keep em cool and keep em sharp👍

Ive never owned a 590 but they have such a reputation for "best firewood saw" for a reason... 620pw is getting ordered monday and my little 3510 is a brushing ajd trail clearing light saber. If I blow that saw up today, i'd IMMEDIATELY replace it.

Great review on the 620, I have never owned an echo, I see nothing but good reviews on them I live in interior Alaska where temps get as low as -50f, so I use my saws in very cold conditions sometimes, Stihl, Husky, Jonsereds, are the norm atleast where I live, how are the echos in extreme both hot and cold conditions as far as break in I heard it takes alot longer, I run my Jonsereds, they are my favorite it's to bad they aren't made anymore, I am partial to red/black dont ask me why, my question is the echo 620 and the Shindaiwa 600sx are essentially the same saw much like a a husky 372 and a jonsered 2172, would a full wrap bar from a 620 readily fit a 600sx, also and this is a big one, why aren't the Shindies shown more love with the saw folks, can you do a longterm test on a Shindaiwa 600sx, I really want one with a good woods port, excellent video by the way very concise and informative, by the way my names Rich using my significant others phone.

I haven't had a chance to do the muffler mod or filter upgrade yet so knowing a little more power is in it's future is even better. Do you have any thoughts on putting a 28 inch lightweight bar and semi-chisel safety chain on it? Great review! I was just about to pull the trigger on a Stihl 391 when I ran across this review. It hadn't occurred to me that the Echo 310 I've been using for light work and limbing for the last ten years has never given me any trouble, so why not go to Echo for my felling saw. My only complaint with the 310 is that I have to empty the unused b&c oil out of it after every use or it ends up leaking all over the place. I hope the 620 doesn't have that issue. I used your discount code at Saw Suppliers and got a $50 discount on the 3 bar and chain bundle. Thank you very much, Sir!

Thanks for the informative video here. I just picked up a new CS-620PW, same saw with a wrap handle and 27 inch bar. I'm a little confused why they came up with a 27 and not an even number. The first thing I did after putting on the bar and chain was take off the air filter. I thought they had forgotten the o-ring on mine, because it seemed loose fitting. Now I know after watching this that it wasn't exactly forgotten. Seems odd. My last saw was a Husky 460 rancher, so I am hoping this is a good upgrade. Husky is 10+ years old and I don't have a single complaint with it, it just needed a big brother. Thanks for the comparison with 590 saws. I have seen other videos on UA-cam where they upgrade the coil and carb to what the 620 comes with stock. For anyone considering either, just get the 620, you won't be sorry.

Just bought a 620PW last night. I've been wanting to get one for a long time now. Going to get into chainsaw carving with that and an echo 361 that I already have. I"ve been carving by hand for 15 years so it will be a fun change. I'd like to see more dealers in my area though. The one I bought my 361 from was only 20 minutes away but they closed down last year. I think they just wanted to retire. That left me w/ either ordering online or driving 40 minutes which is what I ended up doing and it was worth it. We do have a local repair shop that Echo lists as a certified repair shop but they only sell Stihl but at least they're close. Heck, I've been wanting to change careers. Maybe I should just start up my own dealership and repair shop. Easier said than done I'm sure but one step at a time. Thanks so much for posting the info.
