I’m always dropping tools-nuts-bolts-caps you name it down the back of the engine! Some times I have to remove battery etc to find them or drive back and forth until they drop out. Yeah best idea if things ain’t going your way sleep on it, walk away. Come back the next day with a fresh head on a different day things always look easier and work out in the end. Minor problem really in the grand scheme of things. Your right at the end of your mission..... almost accomplished 😎👍
Ha..I feel for You. This intake manifold is a royal pain...After a lot of swearing when removing I researched and found out that the volvo manifold from the twin engine fits. Needs to be a bit modded but to works. Manage to source this and it`s sooo much better. Not only for spannering but it`s quite a bit smaller so turbo lag got reduced by a detectable margin. Happy to hear You feel the compression :D. Not long now, It`s almost done.. Do a live for the first fire-up :D.. Cheers!
I feel your pain, i took the Inlet off to clean out 140k miles of ERG gunk when i blanked off, those middle bolts are a B*tch to get back in due to small space - lots of improvising with different tools. Likewise, magnet fishing for lost sockets! - Think i ended up using an extend hex Key in the end. Think i was at it for 3-4 hours on just that bit alone! Great Vids these - Keep em coming!
I’ve got a small 1/4” ratchet that I was able to get in with from the top, alternatively from underneath with a lot of extension bars. A bit tricky, and one of the jobs you can’t actually see what you’re doing. Good luck 🤞
