- I was watching Family Guy and almost laughed out loud when I saw this intro. I have tried to combine and synchronize the two openings.
The Family Guy episode is S10E12

Stewie in a dress is historically correct, baby boys or girls wore dresses until they learned to go to the bathroom XD
It's also accurate to Stewie's character because we all know that kid LOVES wearing dresses 🤣❤
ok
@@TheRubinator13 .....and always will.
Plus, i mean.... Stewie, lol.
Honestly never knew as to why that was, makes sense to me.
The animation is quite fluid
sorakairi1993 I believe it was probably rotoscoped.
@@jccw227 interesting, but I'm not animation expert 😅
@@zinzolin14 Rotoscoping is basically when the movements for an animated character are copied from live action or drawn over.
@@WillCWilson thanks! 👍
It looks like old family guy because its more smooth
"A small cut could mean a death sentence in these times"
So true stewy so true
Not really though. I got cuts and bruises all the time as a kid and I did literally nothing about it. The human body isn't that fragile.
@@BarelloSmith He is right you know. Before band aids and antibiotics. There were no ways of preventing the bacteria from entering into your body. Now today whenever you get a cut you just have to use a band aid on it until the body makes a scab so no bacteria can enter it anymore. And we also use antibiotics to get rid of bacteria that are more persistent.
@@cosmicemblem6261
But who uses a band aid or antibiotics for simple cuts and bruises that happen during playing outside?? Unless you're a haemophiliac, you have nothing to worry about 99% of the times.
@@BarelloSmith so you’re saying that band aids are just for people with hemophiliac? Like what if your cut will become infected soon. Are you just gonna let it slide and not put a band aid on? It’s idiotic, cuts can become infected. Which is why the invention of band aids are here. Also clearly you didn’t read the other half. I said we use antibiotics for persistent bacteria like Staph or Strep.
@@cosmicemblem6261
I obviously didn't say that. I'm a former paramedic and used to work in a microbiological lab, so I'm well aware of the mechanisms of sepsis and inflammations. However band aids are usually not administered for simple cuts and bruises as they can do more harm than good. If there's is a continuous haemorrhage and/or even risk of anemia, it's a different story. But in the vast majority of cases, the immune system of a moderately healthy person is more than capable to deal with such kind of minor injury without interventions of any kind.
The attention to detail here is quite remarkable.
Ah, GenX controlled the culture for a good 10 years. It’s over now, but it was sweet while it lasted.
Matter of fact, Little House on the Prairie actually did do an episode called, "A Matter of Faith," where Caroline gets a small cut on her leg, and the cut becomes a bacterial infection which then puts her close to dying!
Yes, I recently watched the entire DVD set and that was a great episode.
I love whenever Family Guy just randomly has actual good animation.
Meg looked adorable running down the hill!
ikr
Probably one of the few times she's having a good day! ☺️
I can’t believe they left the girl falling like that in the final cut. 😂 She even gets back up all dazed. Brutal! 😂
Notice she starts picking her way instead of running after that. Lesson learned.
I love the extra frames they made to look the animation looks more soft and cute.
pretty sure that was just to make the resemblance stronger
I didn’t think in the original the youngest fell too 😭😭
i didn't think that too
Same. I thought it was intentional because FG is FG
Meg seems so happy for once
The fluidity of the animation is almost scary. Like, they didnt have to make it that smooth, but DAMN
It looks like it may have been rotoscoped from the original footage
The fall was unscripted as it was for real, but decided to keep it, because they liked it as it was a nice touch for the Little House On The Prairie opening.
I usually don't like Family Guy's animation style or family going to General. However, here, the animators know exactly what they're doing. Every single frame is incredible, and credit is where it's due
I laughed so hard when Stewie felt. That was awesome!!!
I totally agree 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
DF Productions: Good day. In case you've never seen it, the fall is not a "Stewie" invention. It's in the original Little House opening when the youngest daughter, Carrie, takes an unscripted stumble. Just in case you didn't know. Best Wishes.
@@marthamack6319 Thank you! I grew up watching the show. I know it happened in the original opening. I never said it was a Stewie thing.
@@DFProductionsNow - Good AM. It's impossible to tell who is who on the Internet. I had no way of knowing you'd seen LH. I ensured our own children grew up watching it. It's just that this FG show is SO emotionally & socially destructive. It's a SAD commentary on modern society that such cynical, negative, ugly "humor" seems so popular. I just didn't want to see this pathetic show get UNdue credit. You may already know that the young actress did fall & the producers decided to leave it in. Best Wishes to you.
@@Gecko88 Good afternoon. Sorry, NO SALE! WHY does anyone have to answer to YOU for their YT activity? No one's got any right to expect you to answer to them either. So it's 2 years old; I just saw it as I have a job (working from home these days) & don't spend hours viewing videos. I'm not a "grandma" yet, but I am looking forward to being one someday. No one, including you, deserves to be ridiculed for their statements. Just wondering: what were you hoping to accomplish w/ your cynical remark? Best Wishes.
There’s no denying that Seth MacFarlane obviously watched Little House on the Prairie growing up a a kid, just like I did
My grandma watches that show every day lol. Almost 24/7😂
@@BD-1-And-Only 🤣 I watched it near constantly as a preteen/young teenager, then I fell out of it for a while. I’m just now starting to get back into it since the entire show is free on Amazon Prime. That and one day when I came home from work my mom was playing the theme song on a continuous loop on UA-cam and it brought back some happy nostalgic memories so I decided to get her the entire collection for Christmas (she’s not a digital person and would much rather have a “hard copy” than rely on the internet while I’ll only do hard copies for my all time favorite franchises or for those movies/series that are “rarely available” on streaming platforms or are constantly taken off or that have been “severely filtered” due to political incorrectness or the like
i mean he didnt animate this nor did he write this episode but yeah hes probably a fan
@@rebelfriend1818 **you wildly assume, without basis.
I see comments on here saying this is insulting Little House on the Prairie, but I think it's paying homage to it. Other than Stewie's reaction playing for comedy, it plays exactly as the LHotP opening.
Go home kenny, you got syphilis from tam
@GID a tribute to one of the last westerns ever made!!
If you want to see Family Guy insult Little House on the Prairie, then watch the cutaway gag where the family plays pranks on a blind Mary.
He does have a point
@@TheMellowFilmmaker Yeah I remember that. They did that joke in 1 of the earlier seasons.
That image of Chris running down the hill as camp as a row of tents like Mary Ingalls has me in tears 😂 .
Meg was so adorable in this tho ❤
They all are. 😄 Even Brian bouncing down the hill on all fours with his tongue out.
Why is the animation like surprisingly really good in this
It’s really smooth lol
They used the actors as reference for movements so it looks even smoother
Probably rotoscoping
They nailed every little frame from the original even adding Brian as the dog panning down, it's amazing how much they paid tribute to the source material.
15 years ago a random on UA-cam summed up Family Guy as Seth McFarlane basically making a career out of the fact he owned a TV in the '80s , and it has never left me since.
Seth McFarlane was hardly the first. Old pop culture references was always lazy Gen-X humor. It's just that Family Guy has gone on for so long that it's outlived the rest of its generational peers. At least South Park has evolved to keep up with the times.
Peter and Lois’ movements in the beginning are almost IDENTICAL to that of Charles and Caroline.
It’s like they did mo-cap somehow. 😂
They probably study the opening.
In 2D animation, the equivalent is called rotoscoping.
@@cooltrainervaultboy-39 Yup. Disney used rotoscoping in many of their early works. (often reusing the same animations in multiple movies)
Always loved this opening. Stewie: "I got a small cut which is a death sentence in these times."😅
“Let’s get these rocks outta here.” 😂😂
The attention to detail with these cutaways makes it hilarious.
I just came to watch the kid fall on the rock
"The kid" has a name you know.
It's Brian.
May your vision be lost and ears go def so you stumble over every rock in your path
Meg seriously look's lowkey adorable here
Little known fact, the young actress who played Carrie actually said this. But it was of course cut out of the opening.
0:14 - 0:20
Even Peters smiles was exact to Michael Landon smile.
You gotta appreciate Seth's detail to the small stuff.
there’s more animation in this clip than entire seasons
Woooooooow. Such Attention to the very last detail. Impressive.
Aww this reference is a little adorable.
OMG the littlest one really did fall??😮😂 things i didn't know, til family guy, for no reason, reanimated it for themselves
Yes, and it was an accident on set too.
I wondered about that too. 😆
@@ahalfsesameseedbun7472 Poor little girl later died from a small cut over that. Having filmed this in the late 1800s.
FOR WHOEVER CREATED THIS VIDEO THANK YOU BECAUSE I WAS LOST AS FUCK WHEN THIS EPISODE AIRED A WEEK AGO LOL
I am surprised that Meg was not the unlucky one
Yeah lmao
Little house on the prairie was an epic show. Watched it when I was a wee one.
Wow they got every little detail! Omg!
Dang they even got the animation accurate
Never understood how the carriage was on top of the ridge, yet the kids were running downhill towards the carriage.
The parents came home, the kids were outside playing, and they came running when they saw them
@@pres-cs-hgt4771 Obviously you didnt understand what I said 😆
@@beowolf9724 the road is on a hill ... the kids are on a separate hill ... so it goes down and back up again
Never thought of that. I guess it was just more folksy & cute to see the kids running downhill , rather than laboring to reach the top of one.
@@subliteral 😂
Lmao family guy mimicked every move
They used up all of their animation budget for this.
It was well spent.
Seems at least double the standard frame rate.
The happiest ive seen this cast of characters
you didn’t searched for this …youtube recommended it
Yep
This video searched for us.
No, I didn’t searched for it. I did however search for it.
It would have been funny if Stewie held his knee and went "SSSS ahhhhh SSSSS ahhhh."
Nooooo
Honestly I agree. It would have been more funny in my opinion. And then they just move on like nothing happened. XD
Watching the little girl as Stewie complains about the rock is really funny. 🤭
Bruh they really copied every little movement
Fluid animation but also creepy because we never see the characters on family guy move like that lol
Sometimes in seasons 1 and 2.
This was done perfectly.
And to see the same dopey carefree emotions transferred onto Peter, Meg & Chris' faces had me rolling.
And the anxiety! The reason the girls were originally running so funny was because the producer/director made the crew stick a bunch of fake wild-flowers into the ground with wire stems, so the girls had to avoid them while running. That's also part of why the little girl fell, they wanted her to run down the hill again, but she was too upset to do it again so they just kept the 1 take they had of her falling.
*Stewie 2024:* "Let's get these rocks out of here."
Stewie's right! And not to mention---there might be a Rattlesnake at the bottom of the tallgrass ready to strike, and that would be the end of any toddler!
the amount of happiness this makes me feel I cannot even describe
Yeah,sure.. the theme & music fits that all well, like bringing some good feel watching this 😃🌟✨🙌

The animation in family guy is truly amazing
Stewy in Disney film “look how gay we run”
I would watch this entire series lmao
Family guy has always been amazing with the shot for shot homages
There’s an episode where Caroline, the mom in the actual show, cuts herself by a river while alone. It gets infected, and she almost dies.
those rivers were really tough. i'm glad that the pioneers and modern people have removed these wild and untamed rivers and put up roads and streets and bridges now.
@@pershop4950 Bacteria still lurks in the river
All we have to worry about now is road rage and potholes. GOD IS GOOD!
I need to rewatch to have faith again,I miss Caroline cutting her leg.
Uuuuhhhg!!! That was so traumatized me when I was little!
Someone has a deep love for little house. This is great.
Every now and then Family Guy is hilarious.
Stewie was ahead
Seth MacFarlane is unapologetically Generation X.
Family Guy spent an entire seasons budget on this one intro
Looks they went back to their Seasons 4-6 designs for this
Bruh
I had no idea the little girl ate it in the grass too 😂😂😂
Those flowers were fake and were held in place by thick metal rods. If you look again, she actually trips on a flower.
Michael Landon had a great smile
i used to watch highway to heaven on here a lot.. brings back memories lol.
the animation for this scene was so good
So this is where all the budget went
Super funny, love Stewie's little tirade at the end, lmao
The ending animation is even better where Peter runs around like Melissa Gilbert in the end credits
Bryan waking on his fours is hilarious.
The Little House on the Prairie brings back memories😭
This is one of few times family guy has somewhat of a sentimental opening.
Stewie’s part is what sells it lmao 😆
Only family guy can pull this off.
Personally I think it would be funny if they did a whole episode like this
Not just the rock, but long grass also contains rattle snakes, a rattle snakes.
Not in Walnut Grove, Minnesota.
Most effort that's ever been put into animating the show
Why is stewie falling one of my favorite family guy jokes?
Family Guy References never disappoint
I wanna see them do Family Matters.
If only family guy was always animated like this.
Little House is such a good show.
Truly is. I need to rewatch it again
I am so glad our family watched all of it and read the books, too. 😢
Meg Griffin looks really cute here...
I thought Stewie would grab his shin and do the AHHHHHHHH... SSSSSSSSSSS...... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH........... SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS................. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHH.................. SSSSSSSSSSSSS
💀💀💀💀💀💀
There's a rock right there
The animation looks so smooth
there a rock right there😡
Gosh I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s and used to love this show. Family guy paid homage very well…..
This show was corny and lame as hell, but I still find it nostalgic for some reason.
@Sheldon shut up Sheldon
@Sheldon gosh nobody gives a fuck about you bitching about people having nostalgia
@Sheldon ur just mad ur show ended🙄
@Sheldon Be quiet, you childish little oik....Grown ups are talking.
That was so damn funny when Stewie started talking
I wish we heard Carrie yelling about a rock
Honestly when they do the special openings like that I always thought I originally thought I meant they were going to do like a parody one of it
Peter isn't nearly violent enough to be Michael Landon.
He isn’t supposed to be Michael
Peter was inspired to be less violent by meeting Jesus!
The running animation tho 👌👌
The synchronicity is so funny :D
They even added that that little shaking to the Coach.
Seth MacFarlane watches way too much television, to the point where he's trying to outdo Ryan Reynolds Deadpool.
He could do it with stuff like this
Even the trees are accurate holy fuck
Yeah, family guy doesn’t mess around when it comes to a gag. Which is ironic in in of itself.
Stewie: There’s A Rock Right There.
Stewie Is A Legend.
The reason she fell was on the day of filming she woke up from a nap and the person responsible for dressing her put her shoes on the wrong feet that's why she fell they liked it so much they kept it in
@@Soma81 Cool.
