Super looking job. Once you are finished, you may never want to move up to a bigger vessel. You are close to splash and go, with much pride in your new shiny ride. God Bless my friends. Bear 🐻
Beautiful exchange at the start of this vid; Teal worried about the tape, Linh reassures him it will be ok, he agrees: simple and easy and demonstrates what EVERYONE should hope for in a partner! (this channel is about more that sailing and boat work) Luv ya work!
Hi guys! This is Tammie commenting. I must say how beautiful Emma is and her personality and sense of humor shines! What a great kid! I think being happy has everything to do with it and having great parents! You're giving her the absolute BEST life! It's been so great watching you sail and we felt your pain when you had to go on the hard again, but you're making great time. I know that's easy for me to say. LOL! Take good care!
I am writing during OPEN credits.... *I KNEW IT*.... there were dirty secrets on Basik....... Oh darn.... it's not shocking..... but it is DIRTY... Ha ha.
SV BASIK looks beautiful! I like your organization with the pantry Lihn, it looks really nice. I enjoyed seeing everyone! It was nice to see you got to spend time with others. Looked fun! I'm looking forward to your next video. Have a good week! High paws to Compass!
Teal you need to be cautious about fumes down in the lower portions of the Boat. Great job it was a bit strange seeing a portion of the boat that you hadn't left your mark yet. Great job Gang. LOVE IT
The Teal never ending project is what happens when OCD is out of control. Might as well buy a 5 gallon pail of fast-cutting polishing compound developed specifically for tough plastics such as epoxy resin. Advanced polishing compound can transform a satin 1200 grit finished epoxy resin surface to a high level of gloss in just a few minutes using a power polisher.
Hi Guys, I have been enjoying all of your vlogs for several weeks now and have not commented, todays was another most enjoyable episode of project antihalation by yourselves and I must mention the clip of Teal and Emma from years ago, wasn't Emma a little cutie when she was tiny !! The outer side of the boat is also looking superb - Well thank you for another vlog and I am already looking forward to the next !!
I enjoy each unique episode. Projects, recipes, reorganizations etc. It is an amazing to journey to watch our children grow. I have two daughters and a son and the experiences of being a parent are priceless. Emma is a star ! Team Basik is a joy !
@@genewaddlerandomstuff2122 thanks for that! You probably don’t know me, but i have a Facebook group, so i sub to a lot of channels, and sometimes i just don’t get reminders from youtube, or so many i miss some!
Man! Emma for sure is sneaky! I'm sure she had made some sort of deal to not be "required" to help mask the through holes outside just so she could video Linh trying to reach up! Very crafty! But what a great help she is when trying to organize the galley pantry! Here is "your ATTA-GIRL" award, Emma! ✔✔✔✔ Awesome!
I'm getting the impression that Teal likes to paint. That's suppose to be a joke O K ??? You keep Basik looking very good. I know how you feel about the one room that gets left undone. It'll be a good feeling to get the room taken care of and an even better reason for Thickened Epoxy for everyone. LOL 🤫 Smooth sailing and God Bless
A week!!! After seeing Lynh's project ( to do ) & knowing how your going to work that storage room, na, thinking 2... Course, this is in the past, so by now you can answer if I was right or not... Stay the course... Great job..
It's always about "priorities" for boat owners. So what if you took a few short cuts to get onto the water faster. Your attention to detail for the things that really mattered was impressive. Proof is in the pudding. Have yet to see you guys really struggle to duck in somewhere with an emergency.. Shocking to see what you have now when you compare it to what you started with. Very envois of allot of the customization work Teal did. You guys are N. California people. A certain amount of "strangeness' is to me expected. Restocking in Phoenix/Tempe would imply you are eventually headed South once again. At a snails pace because you guys are mostly about risk management. Nothing more boring than slugging it out heading North. Headed your way from Marina Del Rey after a refit end of April. Repositioning boats to BVIs for next year. My favorite place on earth
This is NOT an audition to become your social secretary! :) I am wondering if you know Ruth and Garrett of Salt & Tar? They built their wood boat Rediviva, and after 7 years or so they have changed from a building channel to a cruising channel. They are making their way up the Sea of Cortez, and should be around your area soon. After watching both of your channels for about 5 years, I'm thinking if you run into a red wood boat with mizzen you should say hello and talk about construction. Maybe record some of the conversation. Teal and Garrett will get along really well because you both share a quality that make you great craftsmen... you are both compulsive about making it right the first time, which is a very high compliment! Best, Webhead USA
Teal, if at first you don’t succeed, do it the way your wife told you to originally.😉 That’s actually a sign on the wall in my workshop 🙃👍. Happy wife, happy life! The sooner we men realize that the happier”we” are.
I'm curious about the upper band of tape when you are under the boat between the pontoons. Is it different paint as you transition to the under deck area? I get taping the outer pontoon rub rails.
If Teal was not always busy doing 'projects' he would be bored out of his cranium. But I do like watching him get everything just perfect. Thicken Apoxy...lol
May I suggest, instead useing the phrase "... making something prity", for in maritime settings, one should say, making it FAIR, or FAIRING the work. Just suggestion from the UK!!!
@@linhgobenyt It was amazing to watch Emma grow up so tall over the years . You and Teal are giving her a very special start in life very few children could ever imagine. Lol, it's good practice to do an inventory of everything so you know what is left and what to use up before it expires. I'm making it a goal to have less waste this year. 😊
I would point out that expiration dates are often arbitrary numbers made up by the manufacturer. Most foods are perfectly fine well after the "use by" dates. But, yeah, that little bit of pantry OCD is probably not a bad thing. :)
I would generally agree with that thought. Keep in mind that we just spent the last 6 months in the extreme heat of the Sea of Cortez so our guidelines have softened.
When they finally complete these projects the SV BASICK may not look so SICK!!!!!!! I hope they finally get rid of all the Barnacles on the hull which have been the scourge of this boat, The poor planning and horrendous work ethic really shows on how bad the SV BASICK always looks. The BASICK Crew really needs a good manager to get this boat ship shape. I hope they pay attention to my comment, and get some fire in their butts to make this boat more respectable for the Image of YOU TUBE. I hate that YOU TUBE has to put up with with such slovenly people. Some folks just never learn how to respectfully take care of their property.
It warms the heart to see Emma help the 'little people' through their daily struggles...bless her heart! ; )
Love this episode. You made MESS looking glamorous....including Teal's freshly shaven and polished head!
Little Emmy, and big Emmy ♥️👍😎
That look little Emma gives her father when she realizes that the camera has been rolling all along, she must have learned it somewhere. LOL

Hey Tammie! Thanks for the kind words. They mean a lot to us. Cheers and hi to Tim!
I loved the Emma clip and Teal has hair again. ;-) Videos of kids always shows you how times have changed.
Not a "lazy one" among you. PRIDE!!!!! 😍
Do you not ever need to access under that new floor? So many skills to manage a boat. Just wow.
5:14 Emma has such a beautiful smile!
Linh, you should type up rows/columns of everything in your pantry and tape inside the door so it’s easy for everyone to find things.

9:27 that was pretty cool when you inserted the early video of Emma, she’s growing up!
Work is work ... but I love how y'all have made the regular maintenance chores "fun" and entertaining as well as a learning experience.
Making progress. I cannot believe how much work Teal is getting done. It's due to the help he is getting from women. Thank you for sharing.🙂🙂
Emma is a perfect boat kid. Well done.
I was laughing so much when you flashed back to the first episode. Little Emma and she suspect looks at the camera. :) :)

So weird to see a derelict, unkempt part of your boat, basically Basik's "Hades", when everything else is so pristine and heavenly.
At about 12:34 you asked what kind of flooring Linh wanted. I vote for green shag carpet, of course. That would be quite attractive. 🙄
LOL is it recording... you think it's off.. 9:30
Oh, I forgot to ask: when painting the white hull on a sunny day, would it be easier to see while wearing sunglasses?
You would think that. But for some reason Teal's not a fan of wearing them when painting white.
Doe's Emma's tags indicate that laundry day is due😉
At least you worked on the yoga glutes Linh! 🐶

The bridge deck paint is a multipart epoxy barrier coat.
