I don’t doubt that cars designed after the 60’s were faster and better handling, but for me, the 50’s and 60’s was the golden era for pure design beauty.
My best car of the show (optically) is this black/white Maserati A6 GCS by Frua 00:08. That's a very rare car for the real connoisseur, wonderful lines and the engine sits where it has to be. Sadly, as a lot of the older cars shown here, this did not get the attention it needs to run such a car properly, as you can see (smoke) and hear (stutter). I do not know if the reason is ignorance or just stingyness to get this right. My senior boss owned a Jag XK150 with a very rare engine and in his case it was the latter... Also interesting that the camera stays with the M1 01:58 and not with the 507 in front, which is a much less common car.
Great impression from the event. Unbelievable that the winner was the McLaren. I've seen a bench of McLarens at the Goodwood members meeting of 2015. Never would have dreamed that a car like that would be the winner of the concours in 2024. You can say that Rowan Atkinson had a really good taste when he purchased his McLaren new!
ive seen the silver f1 already twice in the last couple of weeks. both time at the motorworld munich. once as a display car and once completely opened up for service. its just a rolling work of art. truly one of the greatest cars ever build

We all have our favorites. It’s hard to chose for me but I think the Ferrari 335 would be my choice. Maybe the brown Ferrari that came after would be better for trips to the grocery store. Was that a SuperAmerica?

The car is nowadays owned by someone in the UK but wears this locense plate, when on display. Looks pretty cool though!

McLaren F1 has a Japanese plate. It was issued by the Shinagawa Land Transport Bureau in Tokyo.
