Fern, my white Boxer dog, is an accredited service dog under the 1992 DD act. She holds special access rights to be allowed to enter places most dogs cannot. This includes National Parks such as Chiltern Mt Piolet NP where Reedy Creek is located. Unless your dog is an accredited service animal they are not allowed to enter NP.
Check your local regulations, as each state and territory is different, before you travel into or though NP with your dog. Here is the Parks Victoria website for those of you wishing to read up on Victoria's laws 👉 www.parks.vic.gov.au/things-t...
Only been panning for about 7 months and I have to say your videos have taught me a lot about reading a creek. I took your advice Saturday, crossed the creek where I wouldn’t have normally gone and had my biggest spec count ever. Keep the videos coming because they’re teaching me how to be better at this great hobby. Can’t wait to try more new spots now.
Chris, the educator. Every sentence in your videos is information laden. I don't do panning but love your work.
Cheers brother! Always giving fresh tips! 👍
Watched this one a couple of times, now. A very informative video.
I agree with other comments here, too - you're a great teacher.
Tfs, Chris.
Excellent advice. I do that here in AZ when looking at our dry washes. Helps me eliminate areas that don't produce from areas that do. Keep it up and Fern is adorable!
Awesome, great stuff. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Great video Chris!
Great video Chris 👍
Fern is amazing! Congratulations my friend.
Thank you for the informative video!! Appreciate it!
Thanks for the tips Chris you gave me a couple more ideas for places to check!

Great piece. You got me thinking about my spot. Can't wait to get out and dredge.
Come to Newfoundland,Canada...teach me ...I’ve not long found you on here , love your personality!! Keep up the good job!!
Love your work brother 👍👍
This was so educational! I needed to know this. I am a newbie and just stare at the river sometimes. It can me overwhelming.
Thanks Chris we always are learning each and every time watching your channel. One request, now you have shown it on paper how about now on the creek. Your awesome and fern will be a joy and we can't wait to watch yours and her journey
Info vid with fancy graphics, nice.
Little puppa is going to be loved by your followers, she's so cute.

Excellent info.

even i learned something today!
👍
Great information .. thanks
I would love to see you and Dan Hurd get together for some prospecting time. Great job, Chris. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. You ROCK!!! PS... Love the new pup and yes... my antique memory (73 years old here) already forgot his name.
I wish I could leave you more than one thumbs up! Thank you for the information.
Thanks for the tips Chris
You bet!
Good tips...thanks
Great Info & Fern may take over your channel if you're not careful, her cuteness is a superpower not to be underestimated.
Simple,informative and Fern 😎
6:23 looks like a diagram on how to fit a merkin.
ROFL! I had to go back and take a second look. Although wait a minute! Don't you have a boulder you're meant to be rolling? :P
I was "scraping" side wall in Thursday, and gold was there... Not much, because there is just not much gold at all, but I was happy to find some... :-)
Really informative Chris
Cheers mate
Fern is pure gold. Well done video.
Thanks Chris. My areas are more like the 2nd bank erosion example. I think the fact that it just looks like wet mud has thrown me off. There's loads of Brooks and rivers with 18th century bridges and stuff but I'm fixated on finding bedrock. I think that i need to let it go and concentrate on what's in front of me. I find loads of ironstone in large sizes too so I'll follow the heavies like you advised me earlier.👍🏻
I have a friend in California that owns a hydraulic pit mine and a few others and he's going to teach me some of the history that happened there in California back in the 1800s when they were running and operating these hydraulic mines he is a hard rock minor and has been for about 48 years he has tons of knowledge that I can't wait to sit and learn.🤟👍
I would love to be able to dig up in the banks on the claim that I work but I'm not allowed we're only allowed to dig out of the stream only and it sucks that I've been stuck there but it's the only claim open for like another month unless I was to drive another 6 hours lol but the good news is the ice is breaking up The Creeks are a little flooded at the moment but in another week I should be able to get out and it should be warm enough that I can test pan all day. 🤟👍
Thank you.
Andy
Hello Fern welcome to our golden world.
Remember to get a scratch behind the ear from Chris and Zoe when ever you can!!!
Cheers for another great video. 🇦🇺🍻⛏
Good day Chris 👍👍
Fern melting hearts dark clouds always have a silver lining
Perfect!
Thx!
Nice tips
Lawd shes sooo CUTE!! IM SO SUPER HAPPY FOR U AND I BET GRIZZLY WOULD BE FROTHEN OVER HIS NEW LITTLE PUPSTER!
Chris, if you were my high school teacher, I’d have done a lot better. You’ve made this entertaining as well as educational! Thanks!
Unfortunately I hate school lol
@@VoGusProspecting relatable. I learned 3 things in high school. 1. Not one teacher I had realised each kid learned differently. 2. No teacher I had would even try to make the class interesting. 3. You know they’ve given up and are in the wrong job when they tell you the answers are in the back of the book.
@@VoGusProspecting I hated school. It wasn't until I was in my late twenties and early thirties I realised that NO class is boring, NO subject is boring. Just the average teacher is absolutely abysmal at their job. I can sit through hours of Lindybeige talking about tanks, or medieval history, but in five minutes of my math teacher prattling my eyes were glazed over and I was drawing dicks in sharpie on my mates school bag or getting into trouble in other ways. Mostly to do with drawing dicks on things.
In fact, high school was quite homoerotic, there's a LOT of dick drawings to be drawn. In my defence profane things aren't going to draw themselves. After a decade in dead end law enforcement gigs I ended up putting myself through law school and getting a bunch of other letters after my name. I disregarded the teachers entirely and focused solely on the written materials and powered through it. Learning is great. Just our teachers tended to be shit.
@@dr.lexwinter8604 that was me to a t.
@@jakefranklin269 It's so true. Bad teachers are why so many of us leave the education system earlier than we ought to. University was way better compared to high school. People are there to learn, not there to fsck around. Well. Once. There was a sweet spot around the 2000's. I wouldn't recommend it now though, universities have become a laughing stock. When a bachelors in Afro-Lesbian Dance Theory is held as equal to a Combined Bachelor of Laws / Communication Science degree like my undergrad in the work force you know that there's something sorely wrong in the world. And even then that doesn't guarantee anything; I know more people working dead end jobs, retail, labourers, or even just unemployed who have bachelors and masters in subjects that make me wince in pain to think of.
thanks chris some handy tips to remember cheers give fern a scratch for me
Handy info as always mate . 👍
P.s fern looks like she is going to own you 😜
Thanks chris for the tips and yes fern is too darn cute for the internet look forward to seeing her grow up with you

Ausome chris thank you

Love the content hate the midrolls!
Mid rolls allow me to make as many of these videos as I do 🤷♂️
This video is definitely worth a thumbs up guys, smash that like button 👍👍👍👍
Alright I am glad you got a new little friend. Vern find Dad some great gold deposits.
Cool video
Hey Chris, I used to Teach adults you have a real talent for explaining difficult concepts, especially adding your drawing, as someone who is Dyslexic and has ADHD this helps me a lot. I think you could do really well if you wrote a beginners + gold prospecting course, remember in the Information Age people want to learn things, and knowledge based businesses are doing extremely well and are growing. If you need some positive reinforcement just msg me, I have C-PTSD too so I know how hard it is to get things done sometimes. Just wanted to let you know how good a Teacher you are, I know I would buy a course of you after seeing that short video. Thanks and Take care mate
Ps I live on an old goldmine!
Fern is just so adorable. I want one.
I heard you mention using wool or carpet on an inside bend after a flood. Could you explain this more in depth please?
The only school class I can stay awake in. 🤘
I was the 100th thumbs up. I assume the prize is an ounce of gold?
Fern is adorable
We will be applying these concepts our next time out. Cheers m8s ❤️🎉
Have fun!
Cool👍
Such a beautiful gitl
"A top down view, like as if we had a drone, looking down."
You mean almost like ... a bird. Maybe we should call it "What a bird can see!" Or ... hmm. Something about a birdseye. Fish fingers. >_> A fish fingers POV! There we have it. A fish eye view!
You would not believe how many people I have to explain this stuff to so I've learnt to just cut out the middle man and make it very clear what I'm talking about.
Nice
Hi fern..
The Bob Ross of prospecting.
Not as good as the Ross
Chris, I'm confused. (Note: it's easy to confuse me). In your explanation of outside bend nuggets it looks like your nuggets are just around another inside bend "on the top" of your diagram. Is that a picture drawing error?
I never see a vid this early, hope your having a good evening Chris. Looking forward to your future adventures with Fern (training and accreditation approved)...all the best with that mate.👍☺
Muito bom🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Saya dari Indonesia terimakasih informasinya. Kalau bisa untuk channel nya subtitle Indonesia biar bisa membantu. Terimakasih sukses selalu
Legend says i watched this in the first 25 minutes
Extremely technical....simply put! Peanut gallery says...name the next hot spot that has ferns "ferns gully".....she deserves her own claim!
Good idea! Ferns to represent Fern. There's a reef named after her now - "Fern's Reef".
it's the little rascals dog. she's a cutie.
Peaty?
@@SaraJean85 yep. depending on which dog ot was one had a black eye and a circle around the other. reminded me of the little rascals.
👍
Who would give this a thumbs down. I hope it was for the algorithm.
Hay chris just started flowing u were are u located im in SC Nc looking for places to Prospect can you help me out with any ideas where to go where the old-timers used to mine Tom
You were thinking about the river when you commented. I think you meant "following" not "flowing". I do that kinda stuff too. Best of luck finding a good spot!
Hi
No wonder I never find gold digging in the banks...I was digging the flood layer 😭
Well now you know
@@VoGusProspecting I think that rock I sent you is galena btw
Fern is pretty. My kids and I have a female pit. Have a great day chris.
What a shame Chris. Just a puppy and it already has a blackeye, :)
They believe that the gold is
Hey 1st ish
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
528th..like
....good show
So cute
So, basically you are assuring gold can be found in the most unlikely places?
90% of my gold you see on my show is found in these areas.
@@VoGusProspecting It was a legit analysis. I see many "experienced" prospectors ignoring the outside bend all together.
People forget that gild does not obey their beliefs. Test everything and see what you find.
@@VoGusProspecting 💯 My local spot is spotty flour with the occasional little flakes. I tend to find more gold in the places I have been told there would be none.
It doesn't always pay but sometimes it does. I'm not on the hunt to get rich, but I am completely happy spending a day alone in the woods for for a few specks.
First 😎👍 hello fern
