Plastics and Your Hormones

A new report links chemicals in plastics to health problems like diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and infertility. We don’t know why for sure, but the idea is that these chemicals are disrupting your body’s hormones. Just about everyone on earth has been exposed to these chemicals, so what can you do?

Is not the danger not really being exposed to a (very) tiny amount from a one or two sources, but rather the significant accumulation of multiple plastics from multiple sources? Surely we don't need to run away screaming in terror when someone hands us a receipt in so much as, as is suggested wisely in the video, opt to use none plastic materials - paper bags, glass ware - instead of their plastic counter parts?

Estrogen does not make you gay. High levels of testosterone can actually make you gay temporarily.

BPA is on the shiny side of paper cashier receipts (to stabilize the ink). Its estrogen-like activity makes it a hormone disruptor, like many other chemicals in plastics. Jul 26, 2022
