Im a driver in Spokane , WA. And im grateful our state lawmakers and the teamsters help we get really good pay. Pretry much the highest in the nation!
Says you guy make average 25.50 when looked up without union a bank around 40 and hour im happy to not have someone try take money for union dues

Our goverment is turning into an oligarchy. They want no regulation of anything. None of you should whine about it either because a great number of you voted for it.
Lyft needs to take into account California cost of living. Veteran drivers also need tenure pay and sick days based on time served
You're not an employee of Lyft. you're a contractor. No other contractor in any type of business gets those kind of benefits.
if you want to be a w-2 driver, then drive a bus for a limo company.
@@TheChicagoLuxDriverif that's the case, then drivers should be able to set their own prices according to their own costs of doing business and the value which they, individually, provide to the customer. As Lyft/Uber will never give us that ability without strict regulation, they should subsidize the costs of providing the service which allows their business to operate: ie, a living wage and some form of income/health insurance.
@traviskitteh Indrive does that, it seems to be a pretty good app.
@MWLA2 do you live in CA? If you don't have decent pay it's not all Lyft and Ubers fault. Your state lawmakers are the ones failing you for not setting pay standards for you.

Hello guys I’ve been driving for Uber and Lyft for 8 years now. My question is, how do you feel about Uber and Lyft to merge with Waymo to put driverless vehicles on the road? What are your concerns and expectations about this technology affecting drivers on the long run?

Yep. Uber and lyft will have work for free if they could. It's our local lawmakers that set the pay standards
I am an Uber driver in the DMV area (washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia). Are there Uber drivers' unions for this area drivers?

We have the right to form a union here in Mass, but I haven't heard anything since it passes...
Too many foreign born limited English speaking drivers from third word countries. They have no conceptual reference and its more money than they were earning back home.

Yup! This is a big problem. I often wonder how many of these other drivers I encounter on the road are here illegally. High saturation rates with many of these questionable drivers willing to take low fares are killing it for the average rideshare schmo.
Why hasnt California done something to get higher pay? Everyone in CA complains about the pay but they do nothing about it. CA has the highest insurance rates. High taxes, tons of restrictions, high cost of living. Hard to see why anyone puts up with it.
Our CA politicians have failed us. I ask myself the same question while I see other states fight for rideshare drivers.

Will the crooks who run Doordash also have to let drivers unionize?
If they unionize, many stoners will loser ther Uber Job, drig testing will be mandatory.
If they drug test the app would never work again.
I wouldn't be surprised if Lyft and Uber takes more from drivers in every state which has no wage minimum to make up profit for the states that do. So as more states slowly roll out higher pay, the ones that don't get to drive $2.45 rides woohoo

I'm no expert on the matter, and this is pure speculation, but I suspect uber/doordash may take advantage of the order and remove base pay, claiming that "a system in which drivers are incentivized solely by tips will actually be saving them money (in taxes)!"
