It has been a fantastic journey watching this classic old Leyland getting restored. So many fond memories of going to school or days out with my Gran here in Scotland on Leyland Atlantean buses. A fantastic series of videos and i look forward to seeing the next..
That paddock special could be used as a stealth control room packed with technology like the listing ship in the The Man With The Golden Gun. Thanks for showing us around it. It's been well and truly stripped off it's mechanical goodies. Even the axle shafts weren't spared!
Fascinating video Steve - you'll find that the chassis on these Atlanteans would still be solid, with just surface rust. The body will outlive the rest of us being aluminum. I love the Heath Robinson replacement mirror spindle and it'll look awesome when it's back on the bus with the new mirrors - it'll pop! Keep up the fantastic work and can't wait for the next video!!!
Hey Steve, I cut my teeth on Atlanteans here in the UK, a preserved PpDR1 from 1966 lived in the depot, with MCW body.. we now have GSTs running in preservation, and engineering, Rail Adventures use HSTs for freight and tours. I hear a couple of Daimler Fleetline new to West Riding in the UK are now preserved down under too
Hey mate bus is looking a treat. Will you be re doing the rubber moulds on the wheel arches as well, also the Atlantean badge on the front. Maybe you may have to do the blue around the front & middle doors to blend in. Anyway great job mate. CHEERS 👍👍👍👍👋👋👋
@@petercollins939 I have thdd Ed badge it will be put in later. The wheel arches are a problem. Impossible to get out and impossible to find. I will be attempting a repair of some sort. Still not sure about the doors 😬
Steve, in Londonderry, there is I believe an Atlantean open top for sale form5k rougher than a doris after 20 beers .. they want 5 k for it on market place.
@@stevestufff cool you know of it, is it not possible,to strip for engine parts ? …. If you want I can drive down and get photos of it as it’s 10 mins down road from me.
Amazing the lengths scrap hoarders will go to. To hoard scrap! But its like it was meant to be. Remember seeing an Oldham Council Scarab Minor street sweeper thing on a farm in the hills I was delivering to! Like the longer videos. But I said that about Mustie1 ;/
@@stevestufff Old buses and cars are the ultimate fun 4 kids. Neighbour had a Rover P4 or 5. .Doors unlocked. Respectfully enjoyed the smell of Connoly leather and wood.

Current bus going well. Very envious. What a bugga of a job it would be to rescue the other one. And a job of passion. Good work Steve 👍

it has lived a full life as a play house and camping spot for John's kids and grandkids, and I can think of worse places to retire

I was working on the bus, still on leave from work.
Looking great Steve but fix that audio ffs 😮😂
I can't really control the weather, and it was VERY windy most days I was filming.
